Thalapathy 68: T-Series Grabs Audio Rights Of Thalapathy Vijay's Next

Chennai, October 24 - Thalapathy Vijay teamed up with director Venkat Prabhu for the first time for his next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68 and the shoot for the same has already commenced. The movie is believed to be a unique sci-fi actioner, produced by AGS Entertainment. ## While things have just started rolling out, T-Series has already grabbed the music rights of T68 in all languages. The makers haven't disclosed the amount but it is said that the audio rights of the film have been sold for a whopping 20+ crores to T-Series which is an all-time biggest deal for a Tamil title. ## T-Series has been a market leader in the music space and it is another ground-breaking deal for this Bhushan Kumar-led company. "Thalapathy 68" will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja who teamed up with Thalapathy after nearly two decades.## The film stars Vijay in the lead role alongside Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Sneha, Prashanth, and Yogi Babu, among many others in key roles. Siddhartha Nuni will crank the camera while Anbariv is the stunt director. Ranbir Kapoor Shares Update On 'Brahmastra Part 2' Shooting

Mumbai, October 24 - Director Ayan Mukerji introduced a new world of big-screen cinema in the form of "Brahmastra", of which the first part was released last year. Despite the mixed reviews, the movie grossed approx. 431 crores worldwide and was the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022. ## The anticipation for "Brahmastra Part 2: Dev" is building up and the makers have promised it to be 10 times bigger than the first part. Director Ayan Mukerji recently shared concept art for the upcoming movie and said that the script was in development. ## Now, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the leading role in the film, has shared some key updates regarding the development of the movie. In a recent Zoom interaction with his fans, the "Sanju" star confirmed that they are working on the script which is heavy on writing. ## The actor said that Ayan narrated the film to him last week and the filmmaker has gone 10 times bigger than Part 1, be it the idea or the characterization. He further said that Ayan is working on Yash Raj Films' "War 2" and plans are to finish the shooting of this YRF's biggie by mid-next year.## "He (Ayan) is working on War 2 right now. So the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting (for Barhmastra 2) hopefully by the end of next year or the beginning of 2025. But definitely, a lot of work is already been happening on the film. We understood the kind of criticism for the film, what worked for it and what didn't", Ranbir said (via Indian Expres).## "So we have put everything into consideration, the dialogue and comments on Shiva and Isha's missing chemistry. A lot of criticism was constructive and we have taken that into our stride we are trying to understand that and go beyond that", he added.## Ranbir Kapoor, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of the highly-anticipated action drama "Animal", directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It has crossed Kamal Haasan's mega-blockbuster "Vikram" which grossed approximately 415 crores last year.## "Leo", which is part of director Lokesh's Cinematic Universe (LCU), surpassed "Vikram", also directed by Lokesh from LCU, on its 5th day and became the 4th biggest Tamil grosser of all-time and the biggest in the LCU. It will reach around 450 crores worldwide gross by the end of 6th day. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studio, "Leo" has taken full advantage of the holiday period with the extraordinary collection. The latest LCU blockbuster has minted approximately 255.50 crores gross at the domestic box office while overseas collection stands at approx. 160 crores after the first 5 days. ## "Leo" is also the fastest Tamil movie to top 400 crores worldwide, beating the previous record of 6 days taken by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0". Roy Kapur Films in association with Zee Studios produced this high-octane action thriller which has Pooja Hegde as the female lead. ## On Tuesday (October 24), the makers unveiled the first look of Shahid Kapoor and the title of the movie on the occasion of Dussehra. The movie, which is said to be a remake of the Malayalam hit "Mumbai Police", has been titled "Deva", in which Shahid plays a police officer.## "Deva" is about a brilliant yet rebellious police officer investigating a high-profile case. As he delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal, leading him down a thrilling and dangerous path. ## The shoot of the film has already commenced and it has been announced to release on October 11, 2024, on the occasion of Dussehra. Los Angeles, October 24 - Paramount Pictures' spy action thriller Mission: Impossible 8, starring Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, is no longer coming out in 2024 as originally scheduled after getting postponed to 2025.## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the sequel to "Dead Reckoning Part One" (2023) was supposed to be released on June 28, 2024, but has been postponed by nearly a year to May 23, 2025, according to Variety. ## The movie was forced to halt production amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and won't be completed in time to open next summer, just like many other tentpole movies, including Marvel Studios. "MI 8" will directly follow the events of "Dead Reckoning Part One", but it will hit screens with a different title, from the original name "Dead Reckoning Part Two".## "Mission: Impossible 7" or "Dead Reckoning Part One" was opened in theatres in June 2023 amid massive expectations. It was the most critically acclaimed and audience favourite movie of the summer of 2023, but despite that, it grossed just $567 million globally. Mumbai, October 23 - It was a quiet weekend at the Bollywood box office as new films disappointed big-time, led by Tiger Shroff's "Ganapath", and T-Series' "Yaariyan 2". Both movies combined collected just approximately 8.50 crores net which was lower than Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo" Hindi collection of approximately 9.50 crores during the same weekend. ## While new films couldn't do much, the holdover movies too are running out of gas. Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj, which had an underwhelming first two weeks, scored approx. 1.20 crore net collection in its 3rd weekend. The film's total collection stands at 31.20 crores net after 17 days. The overall collection of "Mission Raniganj" is low, and the final collection is heading for under 35 crores net. ## Fukrey 3 is still keeping its hope alive to touch the 100 crores net mark though the chances are very slim for the same. The comic entertainer was the second-best performer among the holdover films and collected approximately 90 lakh net in its 4th weekend. The total net collection of the movie has reached around 94.25 crores after 25 days and heading towards finishing around 97 crores net collection. ## Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan is still collecting despite being in its 7th week. Atlee Kumar's directorial action drama flick is already the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year as well as the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time domestically. In its 7th weekend, "Jawan" scored approx. 80 lakh net, pushing the total collection to 580.90 crores in the original Hindi version. Mumbai, October 23 - It was a dull weekend for Bollywood after new releases died down without even putting a challenge. It has been a kind of year for the industry which has witnessed either highway or noway at the box office, and the just concluded weekend proved to be a latter one. ## Pooja Entertainment's ambitious sci-fi action drama Ganapath: A Hero Is Born, starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, looked promising before the release and had some hope as far as the box office was concerned, but it completely rejected by the audiences once it hit the big screens. ## Directed by Vikas Bahl, "Ganapath" scored the lowest opening weekend ever for Tiger Shroff after it minted just approximately 7 crores net collection in 3 days. The movie got a poor reception from critics and the audiences, and that is where the fate of the movie was sealed. The movie is heading towards finishing below the 15 crores mark, becoming one of the biggest disasters for Tiger and Kriti, who debuted together in 2014 with the hit "Heropanti". ## The second movie of the weekend, Yaariyan 2, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, also failed to repeat the first movie's success and had a poor opening weekend with just approximately 1.50 crores net in the first 3-day weekend. The movie wasn't carrying much expectations given the current scenario but was still expected to be a worthy successor which couldn't happen. It will struggle to reach even a 5 crore lifetime collection which is very disappointing. ## While both Bollywood movies failed miserably, it was the dubbed version of Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster "Leo", which dominated the Hindi box office. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action drama comfortably beat the combined collection of "Ganapath" and "Yaariyan", and scored approximately 9.40 crores net collection over a 4-day extended opening weekend. ## "Leo" could have easily scored much more in Hindi had it been released in multiplexes which refused to screen it due to a short theatrical window. Among the major records, the film has become Thalapathy Vijay's highest-grossing film in Kerala state in just 3 days. ## The action drama film scored approximately 7 crores gross on its 3rd day, pushing total collection to approx. 24.85 crores in Kerala. "Leo" surpassed the lifetime total of "Bigil" which grossed 19+ crores to become Thalapathy's biggest grosser in the state. It is now the 3rd biggest Tamil movie in the state, behind "Jailer" (57 crores) and "Vikram" (40 crores). ## "Leo" was sold for all-time record price in Kerala and despite the mixed talks, it will reach the break-even target within a week. The movie dropped just around 45% on Friday for approx. 35 crores net after the huge opening day of approx. 65 crores net.## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Leo" topped 100 crores net in just two days, becoming the fastest Tamil movie to reach the mark by beating Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" which scored approx. 98 crores net in the first two days. However, in terms of gross collection, "2.0" had a higher two-day collection with 126 crores than "Leo" which minted approx. 118 crores domestic gross collection. ## At the overseas box office, the Thalapathy Vijay-led movie grossed an estimated 90 crores in two days, pushing worldwide collection to approx. 208 crores gross. With this, it has become the fastest Tamil movie to top 200 crores gross globally. ## "Leo" got mixed to positive reception from critics as well as the audiences but it didn't affect the collection much and is unlikely to affect, at least, for the weekend.
