Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor In Race To Headline Rajkumar Hirani's Next Film

Mumbai, September 1 - Director Rajkumar Hirani is presently busy in the post-production work of highly-awaited comedy drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The movie is getting ready to release on Christmas this year and it will be Hirani's first film since mega blockbuster "Sanju" (2018).## The maverick filmmaker will next be working on a biopic of Independent India's first cricket captain, Lala Amarnath. Now, according to Pinkvilla, superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are the top contenders to headline this mega project as Hirani wants to make this either of them.## It is said that Aamir Khan has been approached to play Lala Amarnath. The actor has liked the script and shown his interest in doing this. If he comes on board, it will his third collaboration with the Hirani after "3 Idiots" and "PK". In case Aamir Khan passes it up, the filmmaker will go to Ranbir, who headlined his last blockbuster, Sanju. Hirani has briefly spoken to Ranbir about it and will formally approach him after Aamir's final response. ## The biopic of Lala Amarnath is currently in the scripting stage and will go on floors in the second half of 2024. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's next film is with Rajkumar Santoshi and it will start rolling in January 2024. Mumbai, September 1 - Sunny Deol-fronted mega blockbuster Gadar 2: The Katha Continues scored an excellent third week at the domestic box office. The movie witnessed a drop of just around 52% from the second week which is a phenomenal hold for massy front-loaded movie.## "Gadar 2" was benefited by Rakshabandhan festival as it scored 63.35 crores net collection in the third week. Box Office: Gadar 2 Third Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 31 - Gadar 2 Heads for another massive day at the box office on its third Thursday. The movie witnessed a solid hold with a drop of around 10% from yesterday as early estimates suggest collection in the range of 7.75 crores net. It is not an official holiday for Rakshabandhan but still it's a big festival in India and hence it boosted the collections of the film. There will be a drop tomorrow as the film is coming after two consecutive big days helped by the festival but the job has been done.## The third Thursday collections will take the total collections of Gadar 2 to around 482 cr net box office mark which is the third highest grosser number ever behind Pathaan and Bahubali2. Mumbai, August 30 - The mass rampage of Gadar 2 continues at the box office as the film has witnessed excellent growth of around 75% today, on its third Wednesday. The early estimates suggest around 9 crores net collection today which is excellent number for any film on 20th day. Many films do not even collect this much on their opening day which speaks about the universal appreciation of the Gadar 2.## The third Wednesday collections will take the total collections of the film to around 475cr net box office mark which are extraordinary numbers. There will be another big day tomorrow as some parts of the country will celebrate the Rakshabandhan holiday. The film is expected to collect around 8-10cr tomorrow as well which will take the film to around 483-485cr mark. Mumbai, August 29 - Gadar 2 sees a growth at the box office on the third Tuesday due to tomorrow being a holiday. The growth is around 10% and can go upto 15% which is a positive sign for the movie in its pursuit to become number one Hindi movie. The holiday period will kick in in some states and hence the film has witnessed this growth as early estimates suggest 5 crores net and can go towards 5.25 crores on its third Tuesday.## The third Tuesday collections will take the total box office collections of Gadar2 to around 466cr net box office mark. This is a very good result for the movie as these sort of numbers were looking a far cry before the release.## The audience word of mouth for the movie is mixed, plus the brand value of the franchise help the movie to post these weekend numbers at the box office. The early estimate suggest 17 crores net collection today which is excellent numbers. Mumbai, August 26 - Gadar 2 which smashed records in the second week as it emerged as the highest-grossing second-week film post-pandemic has witnessed huge growth on the third Saturday of its box office run. The early estimates suggest 12.50 crores net collection today, which is around 75% growth from Friday.## This is a phenomenal trend for the north-based mass action film and if the film sees another growth like this tomorrow then it is almost certain to join the 500cr net and even beat Pathaan to emerge as the biggest ever in the Hindi format. Box Office: Gadar 2 Surpasses KGF 2 To Become The Third Highest-Grossing Film In Hindi Domestically

Mumbai, August 26 - Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2: The Katha Continues has become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time in the Hindi language at the domestic box office. It has surpassed Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 which scored 435 crores net last year, to claim the 3rd spot.## Gadar 2, on its 3rd Saturday (16 days), reached around 440 crores net collection. It is now behind only Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (511 crores net) and Pathaan (524 crores net). G2 is expected to reach 500 crores net mark by 4th week to become only the 3rd film ever in Hindi to do so.## At the same point in time (16 days), G2 is ahead of SS Rajamouli's directorial BB2 (415.05 crores net) and is behind Pathaan (442.50 crores net), but only just.
