IMDb Unveils Top 10 Most Popular Indian Theatrical Movies of 2023

Mumbai, November 30 - IMDb has unveiled the list of the top 10 most popular Indian theatrical movies of 2023 so far and once again it is dominated by Bollywood titles. The list is determined by page views on IMDb by fans.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan are the first two most popular Indian movies of the year, respectively. Both movies grossed over 2100 crores at the global box office and are currently the top two highest-grossing Indian movies of the year. Interestingly, SRK is also the most popular Indian star of the year, as per IMDb rankings.



Karan Johar's directorial return, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is the third most popular Indian movie of the year so far. The film was a box office success with a worldwide gross collection of over 350 crores.

Thalapathy Vijay's action entertainer Leo takes the 4th spot in the most popular movies list. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie was released in October and ended up as the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time with a worldwide gross collection of approx. 605 crores, beating superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is the 6th most popular film of the year.

Note - Of all the movies released theatrically in India between January 1 and November 6, 2023, that have an average IMDb user rating of 5 or higher with at least 15,000 votes, these 10 titles were consistently the most popular with IMDb users, as determined by the actual page views of the more than 200 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide.
