Mumbai, December 3 - Animal becomes the first film in the history of Indian cinema to score three consecutive 50+ crores net collections in the Hindi language. No other film has done more than twice before and Animal has created history by doing this with lesser screens and an adult rating.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Animal scored 54.75 crores net on the first day in Hindi, followed by 58.37 crores on the second day. It is heading towards 64 crores net on its third day as per the early estimates, making the hat-trick of 50+ crores scores.
Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan hit a 50+ crores net collection in Hindi on two consecutive days and it did twice while his Jawan also did once. Pathaan currently has the highest 50+ crores days (4 days) in Hindi and it is likely to be the number 1 in this race for now.
Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan was the first movie to hit the 50 crore net mark and since then, there have been 17 such days and 13 of them have come this year. The fifty crores net mark, which used to be a hard nut to crack a few years back, has become a frequent milestone in Hindi.
