Box Office: OMG 2 Second Saturday Early Estimates; Crosses 100 Crores Net

Mumbai, August 19 - Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama, OMG 2 has crossed 100 crores net collection after the excellent jump on its second Saturday. The jump today is at least 75% and can go up to 85% depending on the performance of the smaller centers.## The early estimates suggest a second Saturday collection of OMG 2 around 10.50-11 crores net and can go higher which remains to see. This takes the total collection to over 101.50 crores net in just 9 days, becoming the first Akshay Kumar-starrer since "Sooryavanshi" to enter the 100 crores net club.## The second weekend of OMG 2 is eyeing around 28-30 crores net which will be a fantastic hold with a drop of just 40% from the opening weekend. The movie, as has been the trend so far, scored a big jump in the multiplex while non-multiplex also witnessed a decent jump today.## OMG 2 will be around 115 crores after the second weekend and now, it will easily cross the 125 crores net mark and has a genuine shot at reaching 150 crores lifetime collection. The Rengkai (Lamka) screening of the movie saw decent attendance. It was screened by the Hmar Students' Association (HSA). ## The national anthem was played at the outdoor theatre, which is located 63 kilometers from the capital city before the film started. It has become only the second Bollywood movie of the year to hit the triple century mark after Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan".## Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" scored 20.50 crores net on its second Friday/8th day which takes its total collection to 305.13 crores net. The 20.50 crores net collection is the biggest second Friday ever in the Hindi language, besting SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2" which minted 19.75 crores net. ## There have been a total of just 12 films in the Hindi language to enter 300 crores net club and "Gadar 2" is the second fastest among them to do so. Mumbai, August 17 - Gadar 2 records its first drop on its first Thursday but the overall collection continues to remain solid after a very strong as early estimates suggest in the range of 22.50 crores net which is a very good number as these numbers are coming after the film has already consumed 250cr plus worth of audience. Director Amit Rai Reveals How Akshay Kumar's Courage Saved 'OMG 2'

Mumbai, August 17 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal-starrer 2012's film "Oh My God - OMG" was finally released on August 11, 2023, and against all odds, it is set to emerge a big success. Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" features Akshay as Lord Shiva in an extended appearance while this time, Pankaj Tripathi takes the central role with Yami Gautam.## "OMG 2" has had its own struggle story before hitting cinemas. The makers had to fight an internal battle with the censor board as board members were initially not willing to grant a censor certificate to the movie. However, after continued efforts, the movie got censored but not the way the makers would have liked. It was granted an "A" rating (18+ only) while the team wanted "U/A" which was denied.## During a recent interview with ETimes, Amit Rai said that he is still trying to convince the censor board members to change their decision and give the movie "U/A" certificate. Mumbai, August 16 - Director Raaj Shaandilyaa and actor Ayushmann Khurrana return with the sequel to their 2019's super hit comedy-drama film "Dream Girl". Ananya Panday is the female lead this time, replacing Nushrat Bharucha from the original movie. ## "Dream Girl 2" is scheduled to release on August 25 and this is the best bet for Ayushmann Khurrana as far as the box office prospects are concerned. Meanwhile, the movie has been certified with a "U/A" certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes. Box Office: Gadar 2 First Wednesday Early Estimates; Mayhem Continues

Mumbai, August 16 - Gadar 2 mayhem continues at the box office after the historic 5-day Independence Day weekend domestically. On its first Wednesday/sixth day, Gadar 2 scores an estimated 34-35 crores net which is simply outstanding and unbelievable to describe. The sort of occupancy the film is running with has never been seen for ages and we have to go back to 2001 to see similar occupancies when Gadar: Ek Prem Katha broke all records and before that, it was Hum Aapke Hain Koun in 1994.
