Akshay Kumar-Fronted 'Sky Force' Shoot Details Revealed

Mumbai, May 16 - It is known to everyone that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is doing an aerial action thriller film, titled Sky Force with Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## "Sky Force", which is being co-directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, is touted to be a true cinematic tentpole. The movie is based on true events and celebrates one of the greatest triumphs of the Indian Air Force. ## Now, according to Peepingmoon.com, Akshay has allotted 4 months to shoot the film and has already completed a short first schedule, beginning on May 9 in a Mumbai studio. It was a brief schedule where some talkie portions were filmed with Akshay and other cast members.## The report further revealed that the main schedule will begin next month and will continue through October 2023. The action-packed thriller will be shot on a massive scale across numerous air bases in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Assam over a four-month period. Akshay plays the role of an Air Force officer in the movie.## Akshay Kumar has already finished the highly-awaited action entertainer "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", scheduled to release on Eid 2024, under the direction of Ali Abbas Zafar and will complete the remaining portion for Dharma Productions' C. Shankaran Nair biopic this month before focusing solely on "Sky Force".## Meanwhile, Akki already has a number of films lined up for release this year and next year. Abundantia Entertainment's "Soorarai Pottru" remake is scheduled to release on September 1 while Tinu Desai's "The Great Indian Rescue" is rumored to hitting cinemas in October this year. Mumbai, May 16 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will no longer be a part of Farhan Akhtar's beloved action thriller franchise Don as the actor has reportedly exited the third installment. ## A few days ago, producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed in an interview that Farhan Akhtar has been working on the script of "Don 3" and the official announcement regarding the same will be made soon once the script is locked with Shah Rukh Khan returning to the lead. ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, SRK has exited the franchise as the script of the third installment wasn't in the line King Khan wants to do in the future. "SRK is willing to do commercial films that cater to a universal section of the audience, and Don certainly doesn't fit the bracket of cinema that he is willing to do for the coming few years", reveals the report.## SRK has reportedly conveyed his decision of leaving the franchise to the stakeholders at Excel. Farhan Akhtar, meanwhile, is now working on a fresh script and is planning to reboot the franchise with a new leading man. ## It is said that Farhan is already in talks with a hero who has done two films with Excel in the last decade. Kochi, May 15 - The Malayalam film industry's search for the third worldwide 100 crores grosser finally ends after nearly four years as survival thriller 2018 has breached this historic milestone.## Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, "2018" grossed approx. 100.20 crores through the second Monday (11 days) and becomes the fastest Malayalam movie to achieve the 100 crores worldwide gross milestone.## "2018" has taken just 11 days to breach the century mark. Mohanlal's "Lucifer", which was the last film to achieve this milestone, took 12 days for the same. The first Malayalam movie to gross 100 crores worldwide was also a Mohanlal-starrer, titled "Pulimurugan" (2016). ## The domestic collection of "2018" is approx 51.20 crores while the overseas collection is around 49 crores. It has surpassed "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" lifetime total of around 151 crores net to become the number female-led film in India.## Top 3 highest-grossing female-led films in India - ## 1. The Kerala Story - 156.69 Cr (12 days)## 2. Tanu Weds Manu Returns - 150.71 Cr## 3. It further revealed that Atlee would be producing the movie with Murad Khetani. Mumbai, May 14 - After scoring the biggest single day of its box office run yesterday, The Kerala Story exploded further on its second Sunday to register its biggest day so far.## As per the early estimates, the blockbuster movie scored an estimated 23 crores net collection, including around 50 lacs in the dubbed Telugu version. There is a possibility for the Hindi version to hit 23 crores net today which remains to see. ## The total collection of The Kerala Story has reached around 136 crores net in just 10 days, and it will cross "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" by tomorrow or Tuesday to become the second biggest Bollywood movie of the year. TKS is heading for a lifetime finish of over 200 crores net. ## While TKS is performing exceptionally well, Vidyut Jammwal's IB 71 has put in a decent opening weekend total by scoring around 7.50 crores net, after an estimated 3.20 crores net on Sunday. Los Angeles, May 14 - Marvel Studios' latest superhero blockbuster Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 has jumped past $500 million at the worldwide box office after the remarkable second-weekend hold domestically (North America) as well as internationally. ## James Gunn's directed flick has crossed the lifetime total of Marvel's last film "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" ($475.50 million) in just 10 days after pushing total global cume to $531 million, including $214.70 million at the domestic box office. ## In its second weekend, GoTG3 scored the second biggest hold in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), after "Black Panther" (44.70%), and the best comic book movie hold post the covid-19 pandemic after dropping just 47.10% for $62.60 million. ## Internationally, the final film in Gunn's Guardians trilogy added another solid $92 million for a $316.20 million total overseas collection. The third installment is expected to become the highest-grossing film in the trilogy as Hollywood Trade is expecting it to finish over $900 million worldwide. ## The top overseas markets of GoTG3 through the second Sunday are as follows - China ($58.2M), the UK ($29.6M), Mexico ($24.7M), Korea ($21.7M), France ($18.3M), Germany ($13.4M), Australia ($13.1M), Brazil ($12.4M), Italy ($8.8M), and Indonesia ($7.80M). Tokyo, May 14 - The epic Indian blockbuster RRR, directed by maverick SS Rajamouli, is unstoppable at the Japanese box office, proving to be a monstrous hit in the country. ## Released in October last year, "RRR" initially feared a short life in Japan after lower than expected opening. However, as word of mouth spread, it became a force to reckon with, and as things stand today, it has crossed the historic ¥2 billion/$14.75 million or 121+ crores.## The period action drama is going nuts at the Japanese box office since last year and currently playing in a handful of cinemas. "RRR" already became the highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan in December 2022 after beating Rajinikanth's "Muthu" but it has stunned one and all with its longevity at the box office.## The period action drama has been running in theaters for over 205 days and has scored over 1.2 million footfalls.
