Dulquer Salmaan's 'King of Kotha' Teaser Gets Stellar Response On YouTube

Kochi, June 30 - Dulquer Salmaan's "King of Kotha" is easily the most-anticipated Malayalam movie of the year, and as expected, the teaser of the film takes the internet by storm.

The powerful teaser of "King of Kotha" was launched on June 28 and it presented Dulquer in an out-an-out mass avatar. The response from audiences has been largely positive and this resulted in huge viewership on YouTube.



Directed by Abhilash Joshiy, the KOK teaser recorded 9 million views in the first 24 hours on YouTube, which is one of the highest for a Malayalam movie. Currently, it has 9.6 million views with 320K likes and still trending on YouTube.

The teaser introduces the viewers to the land of Kotha, infamous for its lawlessness and gangster rule. A voiceover of Dulquer claims the people of Kotha have been waiting for their king, a messiah who can save them from the evils of the land.

The movie is produced by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films in association with Zee Studios. It stars an ensemble cast of Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Anikha Surendran, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod, Shammi Thilakan, and Saran in key roles.



KOK will release in August this year, on the occasion of Onam in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.
