Box Office: 'Leo' Opening Day Early Estimates; Takes A Historic Start

Chennai, October 19 - Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo" has taken a historic start at the box office. The massive opening was assured with the kind of advance booking it scored and at the end of the day, it opened in the expected lines. ## The all-India opening of the film is estimated to be around 75 crores gross. In Tamil Nadu, the opening is estimated to be around 30 crores gross. It could have easily been more had the early morning shows been allowed in the state but that wasn't the case, still, it has taken an excellent start. ## In the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the movie has scored an estimated 15 crores gross, followed by 14 crores in Karnataka, and approx. 11 crores in Kerala. The rest of India's estimated collection is approx. 4 crores.## As reported earlier, "Leo" has become the first film ever to score a double-digit opening in each of the South Indian states (Andhra and Telangana combined). In Kerala, it is the first movie ever to score 10 crores or more for any day. ## The worldwide opening of the film is around 140 crores, which is the biggest ever for a Tamil movie and the biggest of the year for an Indian title, as per the early estimates. Mumbai, October 19 - The long-awaited sci-fi action thriller Ganapath - A Hero Is Born, starring Tiger Shroff in the titular role, is finally hitting big screens tomorrow, October 20. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also has Kriti Sanon as the female lead alongside Amitabh Bachchan in a key role. ## "Ganapath" has been censored "U/A" with the approved runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The buzz for the movie hasn't been to the mark the makers would have hoped for and can clearly be seen in the advance booking. The pre-sales was opened a few days ago and the response has been low. ## As of 8 PM on October 19, "Ganapath" sold 55K tickets worth 1 crore gross and the final advance booking is expected to be around 1.50 crores, which is decent. With this sort of advance, the movie is looking to open around 4 crores net and if the word of mouth is positive, it might go further towards 5-6 crores or maybe more. ## "Ganapath" being a big-budget film will heavily depend on the spot booking which will be decided by the audiences' reception. 'Leo' Beats Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' To Sold Highest Advance Tickets By An Indian Movie In 2023 For The Opening Day

Chennai, October 17 - Thalapathy Vijay's action drama film Leo has now sold the highest number of advance tickets by an Indian movie of 2023 for the opening day. The advance booking of Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial was opened a couple of days ago, and since then, it has been unstoppable and has created records for a Tamil title. ## "Leo" has beaten superstar Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan which sold approx. 15.75 lakh tickets in advance for the opening day last month. The Thalapathy Vijay-starrer has crossed this mark with still more than a left for the release. The current advance sold tickets count of "Leo" is approx. 16 lakh and it is expected to finish around 20 lakh for the opening day. ## While "Leo" has crossed "Jawan" in ticket count, the movie is still far behind in terms of advance gross collection. The SRK-led movie scored approx. 41 crores advance booking for the opening day while around 31 crores from similar numbers of tickets sold. The average ticket price for "Jawan" was Rs 251/ticket and the same is Rs 202 for "Leo", which is the main reason for the difference in gross collection. ## The advance booking of "Leo" is led by the original Tamil version which has so far sold 13.75 lakh, followed by the Telugu version with approx. 2.10 lakh and Hindi with 20K. The response to the Hindi version of the movie is surprisingly good despite the fact that it won't be released in national multiplex chains. ## "Leo" is produced by Seven Screen Studio and stars Vijay in the title role alongside Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, and Mysskin, among others. Hyderabad, October 17 - Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja's period action drama film Tiger Nageswara Rao is hitting worldwide theatres on October 20 in multiple languages, including Hindi. Directed by Vamsee, TNR is easily the biggest film in Ravi Teja's career in terms of scale and budget, leading to huge expectations in trade.## "Tiger Nageswara Rao" worldwide theatrical business has been locked at the biggest ever for the actor. TNR's pre-release theatrical business has been valued at approximately 37 crores worldwide, including 31 crores for the two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). ## The AP/TG theatrical business of 31 crores of TNR, includes approximately 8.50 crores for the Nizam area and 5.50 crores for Ceded. The entire Andhra rights are valued at 17 crores while the rest of India business is done at 4 crores. Chennai, October 16 - The social media is buzzing after director Lokesh Kanagaraj confirmed his maiden collaboration with superstar Prabhas recently. There were no further details provided by the filmmaker other than confirming this blockbuster film, and this led to many speculations regarding the timeline of the movie. ## Lokesh Kanagaraj has been focussing on his ambitious cinematic universe (LCU), which started with Karthi's "Kaithi", followed by Kamal Haasan's "Vikram" and next is Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo", scheduled to release on October 19, 2023. Since the filmmaker is deeply concentrating on LCU, the rumours started making rounds that his movie with Prabhas will also be a part of LCU, and it will eventually conclude this saga.## In the latest promotional interview for "Leo", the director clarified all the rumours and said that his film with Prabhas will be a stand-alone with no connection to the LCU or any other film of his.
