Los Angeles, February 5 - After "Spider-Man: No Way Home", Hollywood is gearing up for the next blockbuster in the form of "The Batman", which is just a month away from its debut on March 4. The DC superhero movie is one of the most anticipated films and the hype around it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. ## Starring Robert Pattinson as a new version of the Caped Crusader, "The Batman" is carrying a lot of expectations as far as the box office is concerned. And the early box office projections for "The Batman" is also suggesting it could take the biggest opening for a Batman movie ever. ## According to Box Office Pro, the 2022's first bona fide tentpole is currently tracking to earn between $135-$185 million domestically in its opening weekend while its lifetime box office projection currently stands between $340-$540 million domestically. ## If the movie opens to its higher projection of $185 million, it will be the biggest debut for a Batman movie ever at the domestic box office (North America). Only three "Batman" movies have had opening weekends of over $100 million domestically, the highest of which overall is "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice's" $166 million. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" sits just behind it at $160 million in the opening weekend. ## Directed by Matt Reeves, "The Batman" is on track to become only the second movie (excluding China) to open over $100 million domestically during the covid-19 pandemic. The trilogy stars an ensemble cast featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, and Will Poulter.## Speaking about the 3rd installment, James Gunn said that it will be "big and dark", and will completely be different from what fans might be expecting it to be.
