Mumbai, February 24 - British actor, Charlie Cox, who played the character of Man without Fear in the Netflix series "Daredevil" from 2015 to 2018, has confirmed that he will be returning to reprise his Daredevil role in the future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project. ## A little indication about Cox's future MCU appearance was given when he appeared in a short cameo in the MCU's recently released "Spider-Man: No Way Home". His Matt Murdock appears in a single scene in the film, offering Peter Parker (Tom Holland) legal advice after Spider-Man's secret identity has been revealed to the world.## Speaking to RadioTimes.com to promote his Irish crime drama, "Kin", the actor revealed that he is aware of plans for him to appear on-screen again as the Man without Fear. "I know something," he hinted. "I don't know much, but I know there will be something else".## Cox's single scene appearance in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" surprised fans, but they wondered if his role was lined up for the larger screen time. Los Angeles, February 23 - Hollywood filmmaker, Christopher Nolan seems to be on a mission, a mission to bring the best of the best star cast for his next directorial, "Oppenheimer". Based on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicists remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, the movie stars Cillian Murphy of Peaky Blinders as the title hero. ## If you wondering Cillian Murphy is the only star, playing a prominent role in Nolan's film, then you are definitely missing all the interesting things and casting happening around the film. But, fear not and read on to know everything about the cast of the film (so far).## On Tuesday (Feb. 22), Universal Pictures revealed the first-look image from the film, a black-and-white portrait of Murphy in character as Oppenheimer, gazing into the camera with a cigarette dangling from his lips. The studio also announced that Emmy Award winner, Kenneth Branagh has boarded the project, the details about his role, however, are kept in check for now. ## Branagh is just the latest to join the impressive list of stars, set to appear in Oppenheimer. Matt Damon roped in to play General Leslie Groves Jr., the director of the Manhattan Project, and Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. is taking on the role of U.S. Atomic Energy Commission chairman Lewis Strauss.## Continuing the list, "Black Widow" star Florence Pugh cast as Jean Tatlock, a psychiatrist and member of the Communist party who had a romantic relationship with Oppenheimer. The rest of the cast includes Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Michael Angarano, Rami Malek, Dylan Arnold, Dane DeHaan, Matthew Modine, David Krumholtz, and Alden Ehrenreich in other prominent roles. ## Some of the stars who will be appearing in "Oppenheimer", have already worked with Nolan in his previous movies. The Sony Picture's video game adaptation, based on the popular PlayStation game series from publisher Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" topped the 3-day domestic weekend with $44.2 million. ## Tom Holland has proved his star power and also answered many questions that he can also deliver at the box office outside "Spider-Man" movies. The 4-day President Weekend for "Uncharted" is projected to reach $51 million domestically (North America), which are significant box office numbers, considering the fact that the movie has been sidelined by critics with just a 39% score on Rotten Tomatoes. ## Internationally, the Ruben Fleischer-directed film is even more strong after debuting in the 47 new markets with $55.4 million. Earlier, the movie opened in the 15 international markets and had grossed $22.6 million, pushing its overseas haul to $88 million. The global total for "Uncharted" currently stands at $132.2 million through Sunday. ## Among the new international markets, France led all launches for Uncharted with $6.3 million followed by Australia with $4 million. Germany lands at number 3 with $3.4 million, followed by Italy with $3.1 million and Korea at $3 million. In India, "Uncharted" has grossed approx. 880K in the first 3-days at the box office.## The United Kingdom is leading the overseas chart with $16.4 million. Los Angeles, February 19 - Tom Holland is proving his worth at the box office as his latest film, "Uncharted", also featuring Mark Wahlberg, has surpassed expectation and opened to a strong $15.4 million on Friday at the domestic (North America) box office. ## The Sony Pictures' video game adaptation, based on the popular PlayStation game series from publisher Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" is projected to gross $40-$44 million in the 3-day weekend. "Uncharted" is doing far more business than expected thanks to younger males who are frequently visiting theaters, reports The Hollywood Reporter. ## Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the movie did not receive well by the critics, giving just 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it is being loved by the audiences, who gave it a B+ CinemaScore and 88% score on Tomatometer. The strong box office performance of "Uncharted" also gives an indication of how critics' reviews have become overrated, as suggested by director Ruben Fleischer, who called critics' reviews surprising for being so negative. ## The $120 million budgeted film was conceived as an origin story for the game series' globe-trotting adventurer Nathan Drake, played by Holland. The studio's Weibo account shared the news today with a video message from Holland and Wahlberg and a subtitled trailer, as well as a new poster, according to Deadline. ## Based on Sony's video game series of the same name developed by Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" won't be a day-and-date release with domestic, but it is surely a great sign as Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is facing trouble to get released in China, owing to what amounted to an unofficial ban on Marvel throughout the past year. ## Apart from "Uncharted", the other Hollywood title that gets a release date in China is Warner Bros./DC's "The Batman", starring Robert Pattinson. The superhero film will be released four days after "Uncharted" on March 18. It also becomes the first superhero flick since "Wonder Woman 1984" to get a release in China. ## Hollywood movies are having a tough time in getting a release date in China, but things are looking positive with "Uncharted", and "The Batman". The success of "The Avengers" tempted Marvel Studios to build its own universe which grew over the course of three Phases and the Infinity Saga finally came to an end with "Avengers: Endgame". ## It would take a number of individual Marvel movies before the next Avengers flick, however, Kevin Feige has put an end to the talks of "Avengers 5". During his commentary on Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Eternals (via Comic Book), the MCU boss suggested that they've completed the Infinity Saga with "the final Avengers movie".## "Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now past their tenth anniversary and with the release of the final Avengers movie, we've finally completed a 22-movie Infinity Saga", Feige said. ## In the grand scheme of things, however, it's difficult to believe that Marvel Studios will no longer produce Avengers movies since the studio is introducing a new cop of superheroes in its Phase 4, which has begun with "Black Widow". Los Angeles, February 16 - Paramount Pictures is putting giant steps in the world of entertainment by announcing the number of blockbuster titles, which will be debuting in theaters and on streamers in the next few years.## During its annual investor day presentation on Tuesday (U.S. Pacific Standard Time), Paramount Pictures has confirmed a new trilogy in Transformers franchise, starting with "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" in 2023. It will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime.## The studio has also confirmed the third installment of the post-apocalyptic horror film "A Quiet Place", set to debut in 2025 in theaters. This Emily Blunt-fronted will act as a direct sequel to 2021's pandemic-era box office hit "A Quiet Place Part II". According to Variety, the film will take off exactly from where the second part ended.## Apart from the "Transformers" trilogy and "A Quiet Place Part III", Paramount Pictures has also green-lit the 3rd installment of the adventure-comedy film "Sonic the Hedgehog", ahead of the release of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" on April 8. Producers Paramount and Sega have set a television series about Knuckles, a character in Sonic's orbit who is voiced by Idris Elba.## Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega Corporation, said in a statement, "We are delighted to announce that the third Sonic theatrical film and the first live-action Sonic series for Paramount Plus are being actively developed. We've got a remarkable partnership with Paramount, and we are excited to continue expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with them".## Among the other films green-lit by the Studio in its long-range announcement, a "Paw Patrol" movie sequel, The Mighty Movie, is set for theatrical release in 2023, apart from a new Blue's Clues movie, Blue's Big City Adventure is coming this year, and a full-length Baby Shark movie is coming in 2023. ## In a major development, Paramount Pictures announced all its theatrical titles will exclusively be premiering on Paramount+ starting from 2024 after they complete their theatrical run. The studio, during a virtual press event in June last year, had confirmed the 7th installment in this highly popular franchise, and now, the company has confirmed that "Rise of the Beasts" will start a new trilogy. ## The studio originally launched the Transformers movie franchise in 2007 with Micahel Bay directing and Shia LaBeouf starring. After five main films in the series, Paramount delivered a reboot film, "Bumblebee" in 2018. The new trilogy of the main series is kicking off in 2023 with "Rise of the Beasts", which takes place between Bumblebee and the Michael Bay movies. ## As announced by Paramount last year, the forthcoming Transformers movie will be different from its previous films in many ways. It will include robots who transform themselves into animal forms like gorillas, falcons, and rhinoceros. "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime. ## On Wednesday (Feb. 16), Paramount revealed its further plans during its Investor Day presentation regarding shows and movies. The studio also confirmed all its movies, starting from 2024, will exclusively be streaming on Paramount+ after their theatrical run. A new CG animated Transformers movie is also set for 2024 theatrical release apart from a series on Nickelodeon this year. ## "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" will debut in theaters on June 9, 2023, and it will be directed by Steven Caple Jr., who last directed Creed II. ## Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be released theatrically in 2023 and is the first of three new installments. Los Angeles, February 15 - "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is now the 3rd biggest-grossing movie at the domestic (North America) box office, beating James Cameron's 2009 sci-fi epic "Avatar's" $760.5 million. ## The total domestic gross collection of Tom Holland-fronted superhero movie has reached an estimated $760.9 million after collecting $1.6 million on Valentine's Day. There were doubts whether "No Way Home" would be able to beat "Avatar", and now, it can officially be said that it has busted those doubts and done the unimaginable in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by Jon Watts, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has beaten the odds of the pandemic, however, this box office juggernaut is likely to stop with number 3 as it is unlikely to climb further heights in domestic markets. If it pushes really hard and does something which has never happened before, it will still need approx $100 million to beat "Avengers: Endgame" ($858 million) to reach 2nd spot at the domestic box office, which looks like an uphill task. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($936 million) remains in the first place. ## "Spider-Man: No Way Home", however, has played its part in glorifying the big-screen magic, in fact, it has done more than anyone had predicted at the time of the film's theatrical debut in December 2021.
