Benedict Cumberbatch To Be Honoured With Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

Los Angeles, February 24 - British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch will be honored with the coveted Hollywood Walk of Fame Star on February 28, by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The star will be dedicated in the category of Motion Pictures at 6918 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Line Store.

Cumberbatch becomes the 2,714th celebrity to get his name set in stone. "Benedict Cumberbatch's career spans across genres – he is one of England's prized exports and we are proud to welcome him to the Hollywood Walk of Fame", said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "He joins many of his compatriots on our famed sidewalk of stars", added Martinez.



Benedict has made his name in one of the most respected film industries in the world with his roles of Sherlock Holmes in the series "Sherlock" and the titular magical superhero in the MCU's "Doctor Strange". His versatility in his roles makes him stand apart from the rest of the other celebrities.

Cumberbatch can currently be seen in Jane Campion's Academy Award-nominated film "The Power of the Dog", which has been nominated in 12 categories at the 94th Academy Awards. For his portrayal of Phil Burbank in the movie, he received Academy Award, BAFTA, SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe nominations. He also won Best Actor from the New York Film Critics Circle.

As far as his next project is concerned, the 45-year old will be headlining Marvel Studios, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". Directed by Sam Raimi, the superhero movie is slated to release on May 6, 2022. In the film, Dr. Strange (Benedict) and his allies travel into the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary.
