Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 5' To Be His And Producer Sajid Nadiadwala's Most Expensive Film Ever
Mumbai, September 4 - The fifth installment of the blockbuster comedy film franchise "Housefull" is set to be the most expensive movie in the franchise yet and one of the costliest ever in Bollywood, according to the investment plans revealed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala to Variety.## During the interview with the Hollywood website, producer Sajid Nadiadwala revealed that he is investing INR10 billion ($121 million) in U.K.-based projects featuring industry A-listers. Akshay Kumar-fronted "Housefull 5", which is gearing up to commence the filming later this year, is budgeted at $48 million (~400 crores) to be produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.## "Housefull 5" will be Akshay and producer Nadiadwala's most expensive movie to-date. Interestingly, the combined budget of the previous four films in the franchise approximately 235 crores and they together grossed around 800 crores worldwide. ## Apart from "Housefull 5", Sajid Nadiadwala is also currently filming sports drama "Chandu Champion", starring Kartik Aaryan ("Satyaprem Ki Katha") and directed and co-produced by Kabir Khan ("83"), and it recently wrapped a month-long shooting schedule in the U.K. ## Nadiadwala is also planning to continue his association with Saudi Arabia, where the first three instalments of the Baaghi franchise, headlined by Tiger Shroff, were filmed. "Baaghi 4", which is at script stage, will also be shot in the kingdom and will commence filming next year.## The fifth installment of the Housefull franchise will feature a massive star cast in the form of new addition as well as original characters. It will commence shooting later this year and will be released in cinemas worldwide on Diwali 2024.## Stay tuned...
