Box Office: Gadar 2 Becomes The Third Film To Enter 500 Crores Net Club In Hindi; Fastest To Do So

Mumbai, September 3 - Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is continuing to rewrite box office history as it officially becomes the 3rd film ever to hit 500 crores net collection in Hindi or in a single language in India.
Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" entered the 500 crores net club on its 4th Sunday. The movie collected 7.8 crores net on its 24th day which took its total net collection to 501.17 crores. It joins SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" (2017) and Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" in the rare prestigious club.
The mega blockbuster sequel achieved this historic milestone on its 24th day, making it the fastest among all three movies to hit the landmark. Previously, "Pathaan" was the fastest to enter 500 crores club with 28 days while "Baahubali 2" took 34 days for the same.
"Gadar 2" has also crossed 650 crores with today's collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the 10th highest-grossing Indian movie of all-time. It has beaten "Baahubali - The Beginning" which had scored 650 crores worldwide in 2015. G2 reached 590 crores gross in India and 65 crores overseas for 655 crores total cume through 4th Sunday. It is currently the second highest-grossing Indian movie of the year, behind "Pathaan" (1050+ crores).
Produced by Anil Sharma Productions in association with Zee Studios, G2 is a sequel to "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001). It stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, who reprised their roles from the previous film while Manish Wadhwa, Simrat Kaur (Bollywood debut) and Gaurav Chopra are the new addition. In the film, Tara Singh returns to Pakistan in order to rescue his imprisoned son during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
