The action comedy film, which was earlier titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, will feature Pooja Hegde in the female lead role opposite Salman Khan while Farhad Samji will direct it. ## According to reports, Telugu superstar Venkatesh Daggubati will be making his comeback in the Hindi cinema after 25 years with this film. He will reportedly play the parallel lead alongside Salman Khan. Interestingly, Salman Khan recently had confirmed that he is teaming up with Venkatesh on a feature film during the "Antim" promotion in Hyderabad. ## "Yes, Venkatesh will be a part of this film and he is all ready to get back to Bollywood after a long time. Mumbai, December 8 - Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" is heading towards an Rs. 300 crores worldwide gross and it is turning out to be a mega success at the box office. The cop-drama was released exclusively in worldwide theaters on November 5 for the 28 days before it landed on Netflix on December 3. ## As expected, the Rohit Shetty-directed, after winning the box office battle, is now ruling Netflix's viewership charts at the global level. According to the data released by the streamer, "Sooryavanshi" was watched by 7.11 million viewing hours in the first three days, which helped it to break into the top 5 most-watched non-English titles on Netflix from November 29 - December 5 worldwide. ## The viewing hours will be increased as the week progresses and it might end up in the top 3 in the next week. Meanwhile, during the same week, Kartik Aaryan's thriller film "Dhamaka" was at number 9 with 2.35 million viewing hours. It was a direct Netflix release on November 19. ## "Sooryavanshi", meanwhile, is still going strong at the box office despite being available on Netflix. The movie has so far netted Rs. 193.85 crores at the Indian box office with an eye on a milestone figure of Rs. 200 crores. Mumbai, December 8 - Director James Cameron has helmed just 4 movies in the last 25 years and two of those - "Titanic" (1997), "Avatar" (2009), are among the highest-grossing films of all time. Even before Titanic, he directed films like "Aliens" (1986), and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991), which hold a special place in the cinematic world. ## However, despite being at the peak of his powers in the 90s, Cameron didn't get the opportunity to direct a Spider-Man movie, which he calls the "greatest film he never made". Cameron wrote about the Spider-Man film he wanted to make, in a book titled Tech Noir: The Art of James Cameron. He attempted to make a Spider-Man movie before the character made his big-screen debut with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movie in 2002. ## Cameron told Screen Rant, as part of a roundtable promoting the book, that his version of Spider-Man was going to be "very different". "The first thing you've got to get your mind around", Cameron told Screen Crush, "is it's not Spider-Man. He goes by Spider-Man, but he's not Spider-Man. He's Spider-Kid. He's Spider-High-School-Kid. He's kind of geeky and nobody notices him and he's socially unpopular and all that stuff".## Cameron saw the film as "a metaphor for puberty and all the changes to your body, your anxieties about society, about society's expectations, your relationships with your gender of choice that you're attracted to, all those things", he added. The Oscar-winning filmmaker's Spider-Man movie would have had "a kind of gritty reality to it" as he wanted the story to take place in the real world rather than something mythical like Gotham City.## "I wanted to make something that had a kind of gritty reality to it. Superheroes in general always came off as kind of fanciful to me, and I wanted to do something that would have been more in the vein of Terminator and Aliens, that you buy into the reality right away. So you’re in a real world, you're not in some mythical Gotham City. Or Superman and the Daily Planet and all that sort of thing, where it always felt very kind of metaphorical and fairytale-like".## "I wanted it to be: It's New York. It's now. A guy gets bitten by a spider. He turns into this kid with these powers and he has this fantasy of being Spider-Man, and he makes this suit and it's terrible, and then he has to improve the suit, and his big problem is the damn suit. Things like that. I wanted to ground it in reality and ground it in universal human experience. I think it would have been a fun film to make", he added. ## He further revealed that his version of the superhero film was never off to the ground because the company he requested to buy the rights of the film went bankrupt. He even attempted to save it by going to 20th Century Fox and telling them to pick it up, but the company didn't want to get into a fight with Sony who, "had some very questionable attachment to the rights".## Meanwhile, Cameron is currently directing "Avatar 2", which is scheduled to release in December 2022. Mumbai, December 7 - Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is still 10 days away from its worldwide release but it is already giving pre-covid level vibes as far as box office is a concern. The Tom Holland-led third MCU "Spider-Man" flick is beating all the expectations and creating pre-sales records in several key markets. ## As reported previously, "No Way Home's" huge demand caused crashes of the ticketing websites in the US and some of the markets. The Jon Watts-directed installment has set all-time records in multiple markets for the first 24 hours, for example, it broked pre-sales records in the US within 2 hours of opening tickets for sale.## "Spider-Man: No Way Home" reportedly has already sold around $60M in pre-sales tickets in the domestic market (North America). According to Box Office Pro, the film is tracking to open between $190M and $240M over the opening domestic weekend, including $40 million on the first day, without previews. The latest projection has improved significantly as compared to the previous one, which predicated an opening of $135M-$185M.## The superhero film is looking equally strong in overseas markets. According to Deadline, Brazil's advances are 5% over Avengers: Endgame at the same point; Poland is showing the best presales since Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker; Portugal passed No Time To Die's total presales in three days, and Australia and Turkey are on par with Endgame.## In Mexico, the movie generated $7 million during the first 24 hours tickets were available last week. That's a new milestone, coming in 40% above Avengers: Endgame. With international developments, "No Way Home" might even manage a $250M opening outside the US, taking the worldwide start of a potential $500M, that too without China, Japan, and various other key markets. ## In India, "No Way Home" debuts on December 16, and with strong buzz around, it is set to go bonkers at the box office. It will challenge the domestic biggie, "Pushpa: The Rise", featuring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. Kari Skogland, who got massive success with the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", has now been attached to direct Cleopatra pic, according to Deadline.## The Deadline report suggests that Patty Jenkins fell off as director so she could focus on her next two projects - Wonder Woman 3 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. She will now only produce the film along with Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven, Gadot, and her Pilot Wave Motion Pictures partner Jaron Varsano. Paramount Picture has the distribution rights of this biographical drama, written by Laeta Kalogridis. ## Cleopatra is the daughter of Ptolemy, the ancestor of the leader of Alexander the Great's army. When Rome's ruler Julius Caesar's mentor-turned-rival Pompey fled to Egypt after a brutal war for control of the empire, Egypt became a fixation of Roman rulers. Two siblings battled for the throne of Egypt.## After winning that internal struggle by appealing personally to Caesar, Cleopatra had a complicated relationship with Rome, becoming the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony.
