Prabhas' 'Radhe Shyam' Release Date Depends On SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'!

Mumbai, January 23 - The covid-19 third wave has once again left the Indian film industry with nothing but to reshuffle the release dates of theatrical films.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has booked two slots for the release of "RRR". The mega-budgeted, which was supposed to release on January 7, will now release either on March 18 or April 29, depending upon the covid-19 scenario in the country. It will, however, have to face stiff competition with Bollywood biggies, "Bachchan Pandey" (March 18) and "Runway 34" (April 29) on both occasions.

Meanwhile, one of the Pan-India tentpole movies postponed from Sankranthi 2022 is Prabhas' romantic drama "Radhe Shyam". It was to release on January 14, and now, according to reports, it will come either Holi or Eid this year.

According to industry sources (via Bollywood Hungama), the "Radhe Shyam" release date is depending on "RRR". If "RRR" comes on Holi, then Prabhas-starrer will have a grand release on April 29. On the reverse scenario, "Radhe Shyam" will be released on March 18 or March 25. It has more chances of coming on March 25, to avoid a direct clash with "Bachchan Pandey".

"Radhe Shyam" is directed by Radhe Krishan Kumar and the plot of the film is set in the Europe of the 1970s. It also stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead opposite Prabhas. The movie has already been postponed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic and still struggling to find a clear theatrical window.

Reports say that Prabhas is in constant touch with his buddy SS Rajamouli about the release of RRR so that Radhe Shyam can grab the vacated slot.

Stay tuned...

Cocktail 2, Alpha, Welcome To The Jungle And More: Bollywood's Crucial One Month Summer Window Begins

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 11 - The Hindi film industry is entering what could be its most important theatrical phase of 2026. In less than 30 days, Bollywood will see the release of five major films with significant commercial expectations. Beginning with Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata on June 12 and concluding with Dhamaal 4 on July 10, the industry will be hoping for a sustained run of box-office successes to strengthen the theatrical business during the summer season. The crucial release window kicks off with Kangana Ranaut's patriotic drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata on June 12, which is based on the true events of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, focusing on the staff at Cama Hospital who risked their lives to save over 400 patients. It is Kangana's first release since Emergency in January 2025. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) BBV is followed by one of the year's most anticipated romantic dramas, Cocktail 2, on June 19. The sequel, led by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has generated considerable buzz among moviegoers and currently sits among the most-awaited Hindi films of the year. A week later, superstar Akshay Kumar-led comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle arrives on June 26, carrying the responsibility of reviving one of Bollywood's most popular comedy franchises. The momentum continues with Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy action thriller Alpha on July 3. Headlined by Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol, the film marks the first female-led instalment in the YRF Spy Universe and is expected to be one of the biggest Hindi releases of 2026. The film's teaser has already sparked significant discussion online, making it one of the most closely watched projects of the year. Featuring Ajay Devgn and an ensemble cast, the comedy sequel is expected to attract family audiences and capitalise on the franchise's strong popularity. The decision to position the film for a solo release has further increased expectations surrounding its box office prospects. For Bollywood, the significance of this release corridor extends beyond the fate of individual films. The industry has often relied on a cluster of successful releases to create positive momentum at the box office. With a patriotic drama, a romantic sequel, franchise-based comedy spectacles, and a spy action thriller arriving in consecutive weeks, the next month could play a defining role in shaping the narrative of Bollywood's theatrical business for the remainder of 2026.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata to Backrooms: CBFC Surprises With Three Zero-Cut Certifications

BY SACNILK

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has been under a lot of pressure lately, with social media and the film industry criticizing its recent decisions. If you have been following the news, the heavy cuts imposed on films like Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Bandar caused quite a stir. The situation reached a boiling point when certain crucial scenes in the blockbuster Obsession were ordered to be edited, leading to an intense uproar that lasted for days. However, in a development first reported as an exclusive by Bollywood Hungama, the board seems to have taken a surprisingly lenient turn this week by clearing three significant releases with zero cuts. The first major film to benefit from this shift is Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, starring Kangana Ranaut. The movie, which is a thriller based on the tragic 26/11 terror attacks, was granted a U/A 16+ rating by the Examining Committee. Usually, films dealing with such sensitive and violent subject matter face several audio or visual objections, but the CBFC found no reason to ask for any deletions here. According to the censor certificate issued on May 29, the film has a total runtime of approximately 127 minutes, or about 2 hours and 7 minutes. Following this, Vikram Bhatt is making a return to the 3D horror genre with Haunted – Echoes Of The Past. Starring Mimoh Chakraborty, the film has been awarded an ‘A’ rating. Historically, horror films with an adult rating are often subjected to scissor cuts due to intense horrifying sequences or intimate scenes. Surprisingly, this film has passed without a single visual or audio cut. The certificate, issued on June 9, confirms the film's length at nearly 139 minutes, which translates to a runtime of 2 hours and 19 minutes. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The third film to receive a clean chit is the Hollywood sci-fi psychological horror flick, Backrooms. Much like the recent sleeper hit Obsession, there is significant curiosity surrounding this title. The CBFC granted it an ‘A’ rating on June 8 without proposing any cuts. The film is relatively concise, with a runtime of 1 hour and 51 minutes. While the zero-cut status is a win for purists, trade analysts suggest a bit of caution. There is a possibility that the studio might have voluntarily blurred or removed certain disturbing shots before the submission to avoid a confrontation with the board, a practice that is becoming increasingly common with international horror releases. This move by the CBFC is being seen as a tactical shift to ease the ongoing tension with filmmakers and audiences alike. By allowing these high-stakes thrillers and horror movies to retain their original vision, the board might be trying to signal a more balanced approach toward adult-oriented content. For now, moviegoers can look forward to watching these titles exactly as the directors intended, provided the studios haven't played it too safe themselves.

Virat Kohli Beats Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra To Become Most Valuable Celebrity of India

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 10 - Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has added another remarkable achievement to his illustrious career. The former India captain has emerged as the most valuable celebrity brand in the country, surpassing some of the biggest names in Indian entertainment, including Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to the Fortune India–Interbrand Most Valuable Celebrities ranking, Kohli's brand value stands at an impressive 3,542 crore, placing him at the top of the list. The ranking measures a celebrity's commercial influence based on factors such as endorsement strength, consumer appeal, cultural impact, digital presence, and overall marketability. Kohli's rise to the No. 1 position comes as no surprise given his unparalleled popularity both on and off the cricket field. The batting superstar continues to be one of the most sought-after faces for brands across sectors ranging from fashion and lifestyle to technology and finance. His massive social media following and consistent public engagement have further strengthened his standing as one of the world's most marketable athletes. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan secured the second spot in the rankings, reflecting his enduring appeal and successful comeback in recent years. Global entertainment star Priyanka Chopra Jonas completed the top three, underlining her strong international presence and influence across multiple industries. The latest ranking highlights the growing power of sports personalities in the branding landscape. While actors have traditionally dominated celebrity endorsements in India, Kohli's ability to connect with audiences across demographics has enabled him to emerge as the country's most valuable celebrity brand.

Alpha Teaser: Alia Bhatt's Spy Actioner Faces Expected Negativity, And Teaser Has Little To Do With It

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 10 - The teaser of Alpha, the first female-led film in YRF's Spy Universe, was finally unveiled on Wednesday, giving audiences a glimpse into the action-packed world headlined by Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol. While the teaser quickly became one of the most talked-about topics across social media platforms, it also attracted a wave of criticism from certain sections of the internet. While discussions about a major film are expected, a significant portion of the negativity directed at the teaser appears forced and intentional, which has very little to do with the teaser itself. In reality, Alpha had become a target for a section of online users long before its first footage arrived. One reason is the presence of Alia Bhatt in the lead role. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Over the last decade, Alia has established herself as one of Bollywood's most successful and commercially viable stars, but that hasn't saved her from online trolling and polarised opinions. Despite being hailed as one of the finest actors of this generation, she has always been under public scrutiny and online trolling, largely for being a star kid. Any major project featuring Alia inevitably attracts a vocal section of critics who are often ready with their verdict before the promotional campaign even begins. As a result, Alpha entered the conversation carrying baggage that had little to do with the film itself. The film's association with Yash Raj Films has added another layer to the scrutiny. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster franchises such as Tiger, Pathaan, and War, has become one of Indian cinema's most successful shared universes. At the same time, some sections of the audience have criticised certain entries for their portrayal of India-Pakistan relations, arguing that the films occasionally take a softer approach than they would prefer. However, the teaser of Alpha does not indicate that the story revolves around Pakistan or follows any of the themes that previously attracted such criticism. Despite that, the film continues to receive similar attacks, suggesting that many reactions are being driven by assumptions rather than the actual content on display. The timing of Alpha's teaser has also coincided with the excitement surrounding Dhurandhar films. Aditya Dhar's spy actioner, inspired by real events, has generated praise for its grounded tone and hard-hitting depiction of terrorism. The strong response to Dhurandhar films has further emboldened some online commentators, who are using the film as a benchmark to criticise Alpha even before its story has been revealed. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Another factor often cited by industry observers is Yash Raj Films' long-standing reputation for relying more on its own marketing strategy than on widespread paid promotional campaigns across social media circles. Whether entirely accurate or not, the perception exists that YRF is less willing than some studios to engage in the increasingly common practice of paid online promotion. As a result, YRF's projects frequently face a harsher digital environment where praise is scrutinised, and criticism tends to gain greater visibility. This also raises a big question about the Bollywood industry's growing dependence on what many describe as a "pay-and-get-praise" ecosystem. While no major studio publicly acknowledges such practices, the perception has become widespread enough to influence how online reactions are interpreted.

Alpha Teaser: Alia Bhatt Turns Killing Machine In First Look Teaser As YRF Confirms New Release Date Of Spy Actioner

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 10 - The much-awaited teaser of Alpha has finally dropped, and it promises a fierce new chapter in the YRF Spy Universe. Headlined by Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol, the first glimpse introduces audiences to a darker, more intense world in which Alia's character is portrayed as a ruthless, highly trained assassin. The teaser marks the beginning of Yash Raj Films' ambitious promotional campaign for one of the biggest action spectacles of 2026. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The teaser wastes no time in establishing its gritty tone. Alia Bhatt is seen in multiple high-octane action sequences, showcasing hand-to-hand combat, tactical operations, and deadly precision. Unlike previous protagonists in the spy franchise, Alpha appears to focus on the origin story of a girl who is raised and moulded into a killing machine. The first glimpse of the film solely focuses on Alia Bhatt's character and Bobby Deol, who plays her father and trains her to become India's next-generation soldier. The scale of the action and stylish visuals suggest that YRF is positioning Alpha as a major theatrical event. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is the first female-led instalment in the blockbuster spy franchise. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With this, Yash Raj Films has also confirmed that Alpha will be released on July 3rd, after the release date was advanced from July 10. With its action-packed first look, Alpha has instantly become one of the most talked-about films of the year. YRF's marketing campaign is expected to intensify in the coming weeks, with the studio building the film around the idea that "Alpha" is more than just a title—it's an attitude.

Mumbai, June 9 - The long-awaited Sunny Deol starrer Lahore 1947 has officially been retitled as Batwara 1947. Dhamaal 4 Release Date Moves Up As Bollywood Makes Way For Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey For Solo Release

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 9 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's much-awaited comedy entertainer Dhamaal 4 is reportedly set for another release date change as Bollywood reshuffles its release calendar ahead of Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated epic The Odyssey. The move is aimed at avoiding a direct clash and ensuring that both films get sufficient breathing space at the box office. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While an official announcement is still awaited, the development has already become a major talking point among trade circles. Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar and starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Sanjay Mishra, is now expected to release on July 10, 2026. The comedy sequel was previously scheduled to arrive on July 17, but the makers have reportedly decided to move it a week earlier to create room for The Odyssey, which is slated for a worldwide release on July 17. Christopher Nolan remains one of the most bankable filmmakers in India, with films such as Oppenheimer, Interstellar, and Dunkirk enjoying tremendous success among audiences. Given the enormous demand expected for The Odyssey, particularly across IMAX and premium-format screens, exhibitors are likely to prioritise it over other films. The advance booking for the same has already begun in IMAX, and as expected, the initial response is super solid. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The revised strategy allows Dhamaal 4 to capitalise on its own theatrical window before the Hollywood spectacle takes over multiplexes. The decision reflects a growing trend within the industry, where producers are increasingly willing to adjust release plans to avoid major box-office clashes. If the new date is officially confirmed, Dhamaal 4 will benefit from a cleaner opening week, while The Odyssey will enjoy a solo release frame, setting the stage for two of the most anticipated films of the month to maximise their theatrical potential.

Leading the pack was Ram Charan's Peddi, which emerged as the undisputed winner of the weekend with a sensational 104.50 crore gross during its Friday to Sunday frame. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After the opening weekend collection of 82.50 crores gross (including premieres), the sports action drama remained solid in the Friday to Sunday frame, dominating the market share by already emerging as one of Ram Charan's biggest grossers at the Indian box office, with a 4-day Indian gross collection of around 187 crores. Meanwhile, David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai scored a decent opening weekend. The romantic comedy opened to negative to mixed reviews, but somehow managed to stay steady over the weekend. The film took the opening of 9 crore gross and remained flat on Saturday before the big jump on Sunday for a respectable weekend. The film's fate lies in Monday's hold, which is crucial for its box office success. Bhooth Bangla 8th Weekend: Movie Collects 0.37 Cr; Set to Finish as Akshay Kumar's 3rd Highest Post-Covid Grosser

BY SACNILK

It is quite impressive to see how Bhooth Bangla has settled into a remarkably long run as it concludes its eighth weekend in theaters. This horror-comedy marks the highly anticipated reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, a duo that has historically defined the genre in Hindi cinema. The film follows a familiar yet engaging spooky-funny premise that has clearly struck a chord with the family audience. While the box office windows have become increasingly congested with new arrivals like Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai taking over the majority of screens, this veteran performer is showing incredible grit to stay relevant more than fifty days after its release. Analyzing the cumulative data for the eighth weekend, we see a movie that is making the most of its remaining 623 shows. The weekend began on Day 50 with a low of 0.07 Crore net, but as Saturday arrived, the film found its footing with a 42.9 percent jump to reach 0.10 Crore. The real surprise came on Sunday, where it recorded a massive 100 percent growth to collect 0.20 Crore net. Over these three days, the film maintained an average occupancy that climbed from 13 percent on Friday to a peak of 28 percent on Sunday, proving that there is still a dedicated audience seeking out this specific title during their holiday breaks. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Bhooth Bangla 8th Weekend India Net Collection DAY NET COLLECTION SHOW COUNT OCCUPANCY Day 50 (8th Fri) ₹ 0.07 Cr 215 13.0% Day 51 (8th Sat) ₹ 0.10 Cr 196 19.0% Day 52 (8th Sun) ₹ 0.20 Cr 212 28.0% 8th Weekend Total ₹ 0.37 Cr 623 20.0% (Avg) The film's performance in national chains also stayed noteworthy for such a late stage in its theatrical life. Over the eighth weekend, more than 1,900 tickets were sold across PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. On Sunday alone, the chains contributed significantly to the footfalls; PVR saw 690 tickets sold, followed by 400 at INOX and 130 at Cinepolis. These rounded figures show that even with a reduced footprint, the film is maintaining a presence in premium urban centers, helping it edge closer to the final stages of its run. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When we look at the global picture, the total India gross has now climbed to 215.17 Crore, while the India net total stands at 181.67 Crore. With a steady overseas gross contribution of 53.75 Crore, the cumulative worldwide total has now reached a monumental 268.92 Crore. This journey has involved a staggering 242,964 shows across its lifetime, showing the massive scale of its release and the endurance it has displayed against multiple waves of new competition. Perhaps the most significant achievement this weekend is the film's success on the booking platform BookMyShow. With a total of 33.82 lakh tickets sold, the movie has officially surpassed the lifetime BMS records of major hits like OMG 2, which stood at 3 million, and Housefull 5, which recorded 2.40 million. As the theatrical run winds down ahead of its OTT release on June 12, the film currently sits in the third position of Akshay Kumar's post-covid hunt. It still needs to collect 1.71 crore to beat the India net of Housefull 5( 183.38 Cr), but even if it crosses that domestic milestone, it will not be able to overtake the massive worldwide total of Housefull 5(288.67 Cr) to claim the second spot. Consequently, it is set to finish as the third-highest global grosser for the actor in the post-pandemic era, with Sooryavanshi (293 Cr) remaining the undisputed number one.
