Mumbai, January 28 - John Cena-fronted HBO Max series, "Peacemaker" is getting massive attention worldwide. The comedy series, which is a spinoff of James Gunn's last year's "The Suicide Squad", is currently the most-in-demand series globally. ## Created and directed by James Gunn, "Peacemaker" was 69.5 times more in demand than the average series, according to the data firm Parrot Analytics (via business insider). Parrot Analytics measures audience demand, which accounts for the interest in and engagement with, or overall popularity, of a TV series.## The series is currently among the most rated DC Comics titles on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 94%. It stars John Cena as the title character, reprising his role from The Suicide Squad, with Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick also playing key roles.## As per the report, "Peacemaker" surpassed Netflix's hit fantasy series "The Witcher" and Disney+'s "Star Wars" show "The Book of Boba Fett" in demand. Interestingly, the total demand for the Max series grew by 39.2% in 2021 whereas Netflix originals in the same 12-month period grew only by 10.3%.## Going by the report of the business insider, HBO Max was the fastest-growing major streaming service in 2021 when it came to the demand share for originals, according to Parrot Analytics. Mumbai, January 28 - Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's "Pushpa - The Rise" is all set to enter Rs. 100 crores club in Hindi, a milestone that no one had thought it would reach at the time of its release. Such has been a euphoria of this action thriller that even after the OTT premiere, it is minting in crores at the box office. ## Directed by Sukumar, the "Pushpa - The Rise" Hindi version can be described as a box office sensation. It is because even after five weeks, the movie is showing no sign of slowness at the box office. In fact, in the 6th week, it has beaten Bollywood biggies to top the single-day biz. ## On its 41st day (Republic Day), "Pushpa - The Rise" scored Rs. 1.55 crores in Hindi which is the highest for any Hindi film on a particular day. Vicky Kaushal's "Uri: The Surgical Strike" had netted Rs. 1 crore on its 41st day which was the biggest before Allu Arjun-starrer. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" finished the 6th week with an estimated Rs. 5.90 crores in Hindi. It is the 2nd biggest 6th week total for a Hindi movie ever after "Uri", which netted Rs. 11.57 crores. The Hindi version of the film dropped just 16% in the 6th week which is the remarkable hold of any film let alone the dubbed version. ## With theaters in Delhi having reopened again after a short shutdown and Mumbai is already holding super strong, "Pushpa - The Rise" will break into Rs. 100 crores club in its 7th week and will become the 4th dubbed Hindi version and 95th overall to achieve the feat. It currently stands at Rs. 97.44 crores after the 6th week. ## Overall, "Pushpa - The Rise" is racing towards Rs. 350 crores worldwide. It has so far grossed approx Rs. 302.5 crores in India and Rs. 35 crores overseas, total Rs. 337.5 crores at the worldwide box office. After the release of "Atrangi Re" on Disney Plus Hotstar, all eyes are on Akshay's next release "Prithviraj". ## "Prithviraj", which marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, was supposed to release in cinemas on January 21st, but the surge in covid-19 cases forced the makers to postpone the release for one more time. While the new release date is yet to finalize, the makers have reportedly completed the censorship formalities. ## According to reports, the much-anticipated historical action drama has gotten a U/A certificate from CBFC with a run time of 135 minutes (2 hours 15 minutes). It is among the shortest films in Akshay's career. The theatrical run time, however, is definitely is shorter than expected. ## For the comparison, normally films on historical figures do run for nearly 3 hours. Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed "Padmaavat" clocked in for 163 minutes while his "Bajirao Mastani" ran for 158 minutes. Kangana Ranaut's "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" did click 150 minutes.## "Prithviraj", which is directed by Padma Shri Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king from the Chahamana dynasty. Having already become a trendsetter film among the masses, this Sukumar directorial has clearly refused to die down at the box office despite the early OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video. ## There weren't many films in the past that touched Rs. 1 crore single day mark in their 6th week, however, "Pushpa" is proving to be an exception on that front. On the Republic Day holiday, the action thriller witnessed a major jump of nearly 200% at the Hindi box office, by generating approx Rs. 1.55 crores on its 41st day, which is remarkable for every type of film, let alone the dubbed version. ## In the 6th week so far, "Pushpa - The Rise" for the Hindi version has earned approx Rs. 5.50 crores as full week likely to touch Rs. 6 crores. The movie was directed by Sudha Kongara, who will now reunite with the actor for another film. ## In a recent interview with Variety, Suriya confirmed that he would be teaming up with Sudha for one more film. Based on the blockbuster video game franchise, "Mortal Combat" is Warner Bros.'s biggest hit to date on HBO Max. It was also simultaneously released in theaters and grossed approx $84 million worldwide. ## The studio has hired "Fantastic Four" and "Moon Knight" writer Jeremy Slater to write "Mortal Combat 2", according to Deadline. Slater serves as head writer on the Marvel/Disney+ superhero series Moon Knight, which stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and Gaspard Ulliel. It is slated to premiere on March 30, 2022. ## Since the release of "Mortal Combat" last year, the fans of this video game adaptation have patiently been waiting for its sequel. Since there was not much competition at the time of the "Mortal Combat" release, it easily opened to the No. 1 position at the box office with $23.3 million. ## However, this Simon McQuoid-directed got massive attention of HBO Max, becoming the biggest hit for the studio on HBO Max since the platform launched with 3.8 million views in the opening weekend. This Harshavardhan Kulkarni-directed serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film "Badhaai Ho". Co-starring Rajkummar Rao, "Badhaai Do" is about a couple in a lavender marriage. Produced by Junglee Pictures, the movie is slated for February 11 release in theaters. ## Apart from "Badhaai Do", Bhumi has five more films lined up to release this year. She has a romantic comedy "Govinda Naam Mera", co-starring Vicky Kaushal, and Kiara Advani, then she has "Raksha Bandhan", which reunites her with Akshay Kumar after their blockbuster "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha".
