Los Angeles, November 20 - Marvel Studios' latest tentpole The Marvels is on the verge of becoming the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to finish under $100 million at the domestic (North America) box office as well as the lowest grossing film worldwide in the MCU The Brie Larson-led superhero sequel is turning out to be a rare box-office misfire in the blockbuster history of the MCU which kicked off in 2008 with "Iron Man". "The Marvels" had the biggest second-weekend drop of around 79% in the MCU history by a long margin.## The film grossed just $10 million in the second weekend, according to Variety. The total collection has reached $65 million (540 crores) in 10 days, and with the current trend, it is projected to finish around $80 million - $90 million in North America. ## At the overseas box office, the situation is the same as in the domestic market with a total collection of $96 million (800 crores) in 12 days over 52 markets. The total worldwide collection currently stands at $161 million (1345 crores). It is heading towards the finish of just over $200 million, lower than the opening weekend total of its predecessor "Captain Marvel". ## In India, "The Marvels" is heading to finish around $2 million (16.50 crores), a hugely disappointing performance. Chennai, November 20 - Thalapathy Vijay's action blockbuster Leo is nearing its box office run after debuting in theatres on October 19. The Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial has grossed over 600 crores at the worldwide box office and is currently the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time. ## There is not much gas left in the film to fire at the box office, and as pre-scheduled, the gangster drama is gearing up for its streaming debut on Netflix. "Leo" will be streaming on Netflix after 5 weeks in all the languages in which it was released in theatres. ## On Monday (November 20), Netflix officially confirmed that the film will start streaming from November 24 in Hindi and November 28 globally, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, languages. Due to the pre-agreement with Netflix, "Leo" couldn't get a theatrical release in the multiplex chains in Hindi as exhibitors demanded an 8-week window which the makers weren't ready for. ## Nonetheless, despite the short window and without multiplex release, "Leo" has done well to score over 26 crores net collection which is easily Thalapathy Vijay's biggest grosser in the Hindi language. Mumbai, November 18 - Superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-led spy action thriller Tiger 3 has a very good first week (7 days) at the domestic box office. The Maneesh Sharma-directorial movie scored the 4th highest first seven days cumulative collection for a Bollywood movie. ## "Tiger 3" scored an estimated 17 crores net collection in all versions on its first Saturday (7th day) which takes its total collection to around 217 crores in 7 days. In Hindi, the movie scored an estimated 16-17 crores, making it the 6th biggest first 7 days cumulative collection scorer. ## With a collection of approximately 212+ crores in 7 days, "Tiger 3" has become the 34th film ever to enter the 200 crores net box office club in Hindi. Today's collection will make it the 27th biggest Hindi net grosser of all time. ## "Tiger 3", which is the 5th film in YRF's Spy Universe, needed to score the big second weekend to stay in the race to top 300 crores net. The movie might still be able to cross the triple-century mark but the high-flying projections have been cut short by mixed word of mouth and the cricket World Cup which has eaten up two big days of the movie. ## Meanwhile, with today's collection, the third Tiger instalment has become the 5th highest net-grossing film for Salman Khan at the domestic box office. Hyderabad, November 18 - Hombale Films has teamed up with multiple distributors to release its upcoming film Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire in all areas. The movie, starring superstar Prabhas, is one of the highly awaited and the makers are committed to making it a huge success. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "Salaar" is the most important film for Hombale Films which is one of the most reputed production houses in India. The movie was originally announced for release in 2023 itself but was postponed due to the writers' strike. ## Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the sequel starring Timothée Chalamet will now open in theatres on March 1, 2024, two weeks earlier than the planned March 15 release after the postponement from November 3rd, 2023, which itself wasn't the original date. ## Many Hollywood films are reshuffling the release dates after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended last week. "Dune 2" has taken the March 1st release slot after Universal Pictures' action comedy "The Fall Guy" exited the date in the same week, and also Legendary's "Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire", which now pushed to April 12, 2024. ## "Dune 2", also starring Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Florence Pugh, among others, is the sequel to Dune (2021). Mumbai, November 17 - Superstar Salman Khan's spy action thriller Tiger 3 has crossed the 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office on its 6th day. It has become the 9th film of the actor to do so and the first since "Bharat" in 2019. ## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, "Tiger 3" was released on Sunday, November 12, on the day of Diwali and took the biggest opening for the actor as well as for a Diwali day release. The movie showed a good jump on its second day to collect close to 60 crores net before holding well on Tuesday. The biz dropped a bit on its 4th day due to the World Cup match but managed to hold well on the following day. ## "Tiger 3" has scored approximately 187.65 crores net collection in the first five days in all versions, which is the highest ever first 5-day cumulative collection for Salman Khan. In terms of gross collection, it has minted approx. 225 crores in India and allied to 72 crores overseas collection, the latest blockbuster reached 297 crores in 5 days and has crossed the triple century mark in the first shows on day 6. ## The Yash Raj Films production is the 6th outright Bollywood movie of 2023 to top 300 crores worldwide gross. The Vikrant Massey-led real-life inspired drama film has crossed 35 crores net mark in three weeks and still going strong. ## The film was released on October 27 amid very low expectations to do wonders at the box office. It, however, managed to take a decent opening of 1.10 crores net and since then, it continued with good momentum after receiving a super positive reception from audiences.## "12th Fail" scored 13 crores net in the first week before commencing the second week on a strong note. It eventually had a bigger second week than the first one with a net collection of 14.11 crores. The first two weeks were an indication of the film's acceptance among the targeted audiences. ## The movie had a competition in the third week in the form of mighty "Tiger 3", starring Salman Khan, but still it managed to do well by scoring over 8.50 crores net. Mumbai, November 17 - The growing interest among Indian movie audiences has resulted in record-breaking revenue for IMAX in 2023. The large-format immersive cinematic experience, IMAX has exceeded its 2022 box office success in this movie-loving nation by a good margin and set a new revenue record. ## IMAX announced that in 2023, all the IMAX films so far have grossed around $20 million (166 crores) in India, as compared to $18.5 million in 2022. Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" was easily the most profitable as IMAX announced it grossed around 50 crores in India. ## In 2023, the Indian filmmakers have also tried their luck in IMAX and have a success. Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" and "Jawan" have been the most successful Indian movies for IMAX. It is learned that the action thriller "Jawan" grossed approx. 13 crores while spy actioner "Pathaan" generated around 12 crores in IMAX. ## IMAX has increased its screen count in India to operational 26 screens in 2023 from 22 screens in 2022. As a result, a total of 39 films were released on IMAX in 2023, including 6 Indian films while in 2022, a total of 34 films were released in this format in India. ## The company is also looking at standalone IMAX properties across the country while the average ticket price ranges around ₹360-370, a senior executive said. “The strong Hollywood line-up has played a big role in our business this year but from a local Indian perspective too, we're asked for movies to be released in the IMAX format on an everyday basis and we try and accommodate all those that we can", Preetham Daniel, vice-president APAC (Asia Pacific), theatre development, IMAX Corp., told Mint. ## Among the other films, released in IMAX this year, "Mission Impossible 7" grossed over 10 crores, followed by "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" with approx. 7.80 crores, "Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse" with approx. 6.75 crores. Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo" also has good success with approx. 5.50 crores in IMAX, while Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan - 2" minted around 3.50 crores gross. The film managed to top the opening day collection of 43 crores net on its third day with 43.50 crores, despite the little drop in multiplexes. ## Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" is the biggest grosser in the first 3-day opening weekend with 180.45 crores, followed by "Pathaan" with 161 crores. "Tiger 3" didn't have a usual weekend as it was released on Sunday, but it benefitted due to the Diwali holidays. It has additionally scored 3 crores net in Tamil and Telugu for 147.50 crores total net collection in the weekend. ## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the 5th Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe film has minted approx. 65 crores overseas collection and allied with approx. 177 crores domestic gross, "Tiger 3" has scored approx. 242 crores worldwide in the first three days. The movie scored 14.90 million viewing hours from 5.2 million views during its opening weekend upon its release on November 2nd. ## "Jawan" has scored 25.50 million viewing hours from 8.9 million views so far in just 11 days, making it one of the fastest Indian movies to reach 25 million viewing hours on Netflix. The movie is trending in the top 10 in 17 countries, including number 1 in India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and 4 other countries. ## Meanwhile, the Tamil and Telugu extended cuts of the film are also trending in the top 10 on Netflix in India, however, the streamer didn't provide the viewership data for both the dubbed versions. Mumbai, November 14 - Tiger 3 shows a strong hold on its third day as collections are likely to be over 40 crores net in the Hindi language. In the morning, the movie had a big drop from the opening day but the evening and night shows witnessed huge growth to make up for the drop and now, the collection is nearing the day 1 numbers. ## The Salman Khan-led actioner scored an estimated 41-42 crores net in Hindi, dropping just around 4% from the Diwali opening day. The total Hindi collection of the movie has reached around 142 crores net and all versions around 146 crores in 3 days. Given the estimates hold, it will be the 4th biggest first three-day collection ever in Hindi after Jawan, Pathaan, and KGF: Chapter 2. ## The Hindi collection of the film today might match the opening day numbers but a lot depends on the size of the drop as some areas are below the opening day while in Gujarat, the collection has jumped from the opening day due to the New Year.
