Mumbai, November 23 - The final of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 between host India and Australia broke viewership records on television and digitally.## Jay Shah, honorary secretary of BCCI and president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced via X/Twitter that the final match was watched by 30 crore fans which is an all-time record for any kind of event on Indian television. ## The peak concurrency on television during the final reached a staggering 13 crores which is also the highest ever. Meanwhile, Disney Plus Hotstar also recorded a peak concurrency viewership of 5.9 crores which is the highest ever in the world on any streaming platform. ## Disney+Hotstar had earlier breached the peak concurrency viewership of 4 crores, 4.50 crore, and 5 crore during the tournament and it nearly touched 6 crores in the final. Box Office: 'Animal' To Challange 'Sanju' Opening To Emerge Biggest Opener For Ranbir Kapoor

Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga have teamed up for the first time for a gangster action drama film, titled Animal. The movie is scheduled to release on December 1st, and unsurprisingly, it has been certified with an "A" rating by CBFC with an approved runtime of 3 hours and 21 minutes, making it one of the longest Indian films ever. ## Sandeep Reddy Vanga has directed three films including "Animal" and all three got approved by CBFC with the adult certificate. The previous two films, the Telugu hardcore romantic drama "Arjun Reddy" and its Hindi remake "Kabir Singh" were massive box office successes and now, "Animal" is expected to join the list. ## Interestingly, "Kabir Singh" starring Shahid Kapoor is the biggest "A" rated Indian opener with over 20 crores net and is also the highest-grossing adult-rated film with approx. 377 crores worldwide. "Animal", despite its lengthy runtime, will be eyeing to claim the top spot that too by a huge margin. ## The trailer of the film was launched on November 23 and it got a tremendous reception all around. The trade already had high expectations from the movie at the box office and now after the excellent response to the trailer, the anticipation has increased multifold and it should easily emerge as the biggest opener in the "A" rated category. ## Since the advance booking has not opened yet (scheduled to start on November 26), it is still premature to predict the opening of the film, however, given the talent involved in it and the excellent response to the trailer, "Animal" will challenge the opening of "Sanju" which is Ranbir's biggest opener to date in Hindi with 34.75 crores net. ## "Animal" is expected to do very well in the dubbed versions, especially in Telugu due to Sandeep Reddy Vanga's factor as well as Ranbir Kapoor who had success with his recent movies in South. The trade is expecting the film to take the opening of around 15 crores in South and 50+ crores gross all India.## The movie will directly clash with Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur", which is also carrying good buzz and is expected to have a good opening. However, "Animal" has the advantage of South and moreover, it will behave as a more frontloaded film than "Sam Bahadur". The advances will give more clarity about the film's opening but at the moment, it is the film to watch out for. ## It is produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios, and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri in prominent roles. The film is a part of YRF's Spy Universe which is already a massive blockbuster and is expected to reach new heights with Ayan Mukerji's directorial. ## As known to everyone, "War 2" will see Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as RAW agent Kabir while Telugu superstar Jr. NTR will be making his Bollywood debut with this. It is expected to be the most violent film yet in the Spy Universe and Jr. NTR likely to be the main antagonist. ## Meanwhile, the shoot of "War 2" has already commenced as Ayan Mukerji completed the first schedule of the film in Spain last month, and the second one will begin in Abu Dhabi, in December. Now, according to the latest reports, Hrithik and NTR will commence their portions from February 2024. ## It is said that the team has so far filmed the scenes with body doubles and the second schedule will also likely be filmed with body doubles for the actors. The Maneesh Sharma's directorial movie reached the milestone in 11 days. ## "Tiger 3", which is a part of Yash Raj Films Spy Universe, grossed around 9 crores worldwide on its 11th day which took its total collection to over 403 crores. In India, the film has minted around 300 crores while overseas collection is approx. 103 crores so far. ## In the Spy Universe, the latest blockbuster is the 4th movie out of 5 to top 400 crores gross worldwide. Mumbai, November 22 - Director Om Raut, after the huge blockbuster success of "Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero" in 2020, came up with the even bigger or perhaps the biggest film of his career Adipurush. The film starred superstar Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh, among others in key roles.## Produced by T-Series and Retrophiles, "Adipurush" was director Raut's modern take on the epic "Ramayana" and he announced the film with huge enthusiasm in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the filmmaker had no idea back then that it was going to be the most horrible experience of his career and that he shouldn't have modernized the epic. ## The movie had already become the centre of controversy when the first teaser was dropped last year. The teaser was slammed for the poor VFX and the wrong depiction of the characters of Ramayana. This forced the makers to postpone the release from January 2023 to June, however, these efforts didn't prove enough as the characterization and the basic plot of the film, which invited controversy, couldn't have been replaced. ## "Adipurush" was released in theatres on June 16, and despite the huge worldwide opening of over 100 crores, the movie couldn't survive for long at the box office after receiving poor critics and audience reception. This is the first collaboration between Kartik and Karan who were previously supposed to join hands for "Dostana 2". ## It is said that Kartik was regularly visiting the Dharma Productions office in the last couple of months which led to speculations about the maiden venture. Now, on the occasion of Kartik's 33rd birthday today, the yet-untitled movie has officially been confirmed by the studio with a confirmed release date of 15 August 2025. ## The film celebrates the Indian Army and is set against a backdrop not explored to date. Mumbai, November 21 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's spy action thriller Tiger 3 is heading towards finishing a little under 300 crores net box office mark in India. The movie had another drop of around 10-15% today which is a normal drop during the weekdays. ## Directed by Maneesh Sharma, "Tiger 3" reached around 244 crores net in all versions in the first 10 days. The film will have one more week to have a free run before "Animal" and "Sam Bahadur" arrive on December 1st to make life difficult for it. ## The third instalment in the Tiger franchise practically has 10 days left to collect as much as it can but still, the film is highly unlikely to top 300 crores net box office mark, a benchmark which was looking like a cakewalk before the release of the film. ## With the current trend and considering no real challenge before December 1st, "Tiger 3" is looking to finish around 280-290 crores net collection, which is no way a small number but surely underwhelming for a franchise like "Tiger" which is a part of YRF's Spy Universe, the biggest action franchise. ## "Tiger 3" will end up as a successful venture but Yash Raj Films will surely consider it a missed opportunity to have another solid blockbuster after "Pathaan". The movie opened to mixed reviews which might have dented its chances to have a long run but the cricket World Cup matches have also cost it at least 30 crores which could have easily taken it past 300 crores net. ## YRF opted for a unique release strategy for the film as it is a rare Bollywood film to have opened on Sunday, that too on the day of Diwali. A traditional Friday release could have massively benefitted it during the long Holiday period. Vikas Bahl's directorial film was touted to be a never-before-seen before sci-fi thriller but the audiences didn't turn to see it in theatres. ## Produced by Pooja Entertainment, "Ganapath" was released on October 20 during the Dussehra weekend but its fate was almost sealed after it opened to a disaster number of 2.50 crores net. The extremely negative reviews and audiences' word of mouth made sure it died down in the opening weekend itself with a net collection of 7 crores. ## Though the collections of the film were negligible after the opening weekend, the lack of a big release kept it in theatres for a couple of weeks. Los Angeles, November 20 - Marvel Studios' latest tentpole The Marvels is on the verge of becoming the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to finish under $100 million at the domestic (North America) box office as well as the lowest grossing film worldwide in the MCU The Brie Larson-led superhero sequel is turning out to be a rare box-office misfire in the blockbuster history of the MCU which kicked off in 2008 with "Iron Man". "The Marvels" had the biggest second-weekend drop of around 79% in the MCU history by a long margin.## The film grossed just $10 million in the second weekend, according to Variety. The total collection has reached $65 million (540 crores) in 10 days, and with the current trend, it is projected to finish around $80 million - $90 million in North America. ## At the overseas box office, the situation is the same as in the domestic market with a total collection of $96 million (800 crores) in 12 days over 52 markets. The total worldwide collection currently stands at $161 million (1345 crores). It is heading towards the finish of just over $200 million, lower than the opening weekend total of its predecessor "Captain Marvel". ## In India, "The Marvels" is heading to finish around $2 million (16.50 crores), a hugely disappointing performance.
