Hyderabad, September 28 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR has displayed his sheer stardom with action drama Devara: Part 1 which shattered projections to score one of the biggest openings for an Indian movie of all-time and the second biggest of 2024 at the worldwide box office with close to 150 crores gross collection. ## Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara had a sensational opening day, grossing approximately 145 crores at the worldwide box office. In India, the movie grossed approximately 98 crores (82.50 crores net) collection while the overseas collection is an estimated 47 crores, including premieres. ## Devara has taken one of the biggest openings in Telugu states with approximately 74 crores gross. The movie surprised in the dubbed Hindi version to take a very good opening of 7.50 crores net (9 crores gross), and this is driven by the growing popularity of Jr. NTR in the Hindi belt. ## The worldwide opening of 145 crores is the second biggest of 2024 for the Indian movie, behind only Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which minted approximately 178 crores gross. Hyderabad, September 27 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1 has set the box office on fire to score one of the biggest openings for an Indian movie at the domestic box office, and by far the biggest solo start for the actor. ## The movie recorded sensational pre-sales which led to the foundation of a monstrous start and after the early morning and midnight shows, where it scored decent word of mouth, Devara was unstoppable throughout the day with excellent occupancies, especially in Telugu states. ## According to early estimates, Devara is looking to gross 70+ crore in two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) which is easily one of the biggest starts there. In Karnataka, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 10-11 crores and an estimated 2.50 crore gross is expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. ## Devara surprises in the Hindi belt with the better-than-expected opening. The movie scored decent pre-sales in Hindi which indicated in the mid-single digit score. However, due to decent word of mouth, the spot booking got a boost. Per estimates, the film scored 7+ crore net collection in Hindi (8.25+ crore gross) which is a good start. ## Overall, Devara is estimated to gross around 90 crores (77 crores net) collection on its opening day which is the second biggest of the year after Kalki 2898 AD. Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Again' Sets Wide Overseas Release

Mumbai, September 27 - One of the biggest Bollywood films of the year, director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn in the title role is set to get a wide release across international territories in November this year.## According to Variety, Phars Film (PHF) has acquired overseas rights for this cop action thriller which also stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and and Deepika Padukone in prominent roles. ## Phars Film has teamed with Moviegoers Entertainment to orchestrate the film's rollout across international territories, excluding the Middle East, which PHF will handle directly. Mumbai, September 27 - Director Rahi Anil Barve's folk horror thriller Tumbbad re-release has had a fantastic second week at the domestic box office as the movie continued to perform above expectations and remained over or around 1 crore net mark throughout the week. ## The movie scored approximately 11.50 crores net collection in the second week, dropping just under 15% from the first week's total of 13.15 crores net. The total re-release collection of the film after two weeks (14 days) is around 24.50 crores net (29 crore gross). ## Tummbad re-release has earned around 2X of its original collection (13.50 crores net) which is indeed a big achievement for a 6-year-old critically acclaimed film. Mumbai, September 26 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror comedy Stree 2 has officially become the highest-grossing Hindi movie at the domestic box office, beating superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller Jawan. ## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the mega-blockbuster crossed Jawan (582.31 crores net) on its 6th Thursday (43rd day) to become the new box office king in Hindi. It is, in fact, now the biggest single-language grosser at the Indian box office. ## Jawan, however, remains the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time in India with 640 crores net collection in all versions. Stree is not expected to beat Jawan and is likely to finish its run of around 600 crores net collection, which is anyway a monstrous achievement to have. ## Stree 2 has been a on dream run since its debut on August 15. The lack of competition from new movies has been a blessing for the film throughout its box office journey so far and this continues to make it the number 1 Bollywood choice for the moviegoers. ## At the worldwide box office, the mega sequel has grossed approximately 828 crores in collection, including an estimated 133 crores at the overseas box office in 43 days. Jr. NTR's 'Devara: Part 1' Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, September 26 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR returns to the big screens with director Koratala Siva's action drama Devara: Part 1 which is set to unleash at the box office tomorrow, September 27. It is the actor's first film since SS Rajamouli's directorial blockbuster RRR in March 2022. ## Devara has been creating waves with its advance booking response for the last few days. The movie's pre-sales have crossed 40 crores gross for the opening day in India (including block seats) while worldwide sales have surpassed the 75 crores mark which is one of the biggest for an Indian movie.## The historic pre-sales response to Devara has confirmed 100+ crores worldwide start at the box office and this will be Jr. NTR's back-to-back 100 crores opener and first solo movie to take this sort of opening at the box office. While the pre-sales aren't encouraging in the Hindi belt, the same is not the case in South Indian regions where tickets are getting sold out within minutes. The movie is having the best response in Telugu states where bookings are simply historic, followed by Karnataka and a decent response in Tamil Nadu. ## Given the pre-sales trend and how the market has behaved in the past, Devara is expected to score the opening in the range of 70 crore gross in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). This will be one of the biggest openings ever in this part of the country if the projection holds. Apart from AP/TG, Karnataka is another strong market for Telugu stars and pre-sales there are excellent. The movie is expected to score 10+ crores gross collection in the state. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Devara is heading towards the opening in the range of 3 crore gross with a large contribution from TN.## The North India is the market to watch out for Devara as far as the box office is concerned. Post RRR, there have been high expectations from Jr. NTR to deliver in Hindi which has become a strong market for Telugu movies. The pre-sales of the movie in Hindi hasn't been that strong but are still better than some of recent Bollywood movies featuring top stars. ## In Hindi, the movie is expected to take an opening of 5-6 crore gross which can be called a decent start. If it manages to get positive word of mouth, Devara has a real shot at scoring a healthy collection. Including all versions, the domestic opening of Devara is expected to be around 85-90 crores. ## The overseas pre-sales are also sensational and Devara is headed to take the opening of around $5 million (40 crores gross), for a worldwide opening of around 125 crores gross.
