Box Office: 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' Set To Win Weekend Against 'Karan Arjun' In Re-Release

Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's two cult classics, romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho and reincarnation action drama Karan Arjun which also has superstar Salman Khan, got re-released recently but there seems to be not much interest for the letter. ## Karan Arjun (1995), directed by Rakesh Roshan, got one of the widest re-releases for a Bollywood movie, however, the anticipation seems isn't that much the makers hoped for as it is not getting much audience in theatres. ## The film grossed approximately 30 lakh on its opening day which is, even though among the top openings for a Bollywood re-release, is nowhere near the expected start considering the wide release. It is not showing much improvement on Saturday with collection expected to be in the same range as Friday. ## Meanwhile, Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which was re-launched on November 15, looks like will be winning the re-release race against Karan Arjun despite a much smaller release. After grossing approximately 2.40 crores in the first week, the film started the second weekend with around 20 lakh gross collection on the second Friday (8th day). ## The Nikkhil Advani's directorial has taken a lead over Karan Arjun on Saturday as it is expected to gross over 50 lakh. 'Bhagam Bhag 2' Officially Confirmed

Mumbai, November 23 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal's comedy entertainer Bhagam Bhag has officially been confirmed after the news first broke out recently. The OG trio will return to headline the second instalment. ## It was reported that rights for the sequel were recently acquired from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who has also been simultaneously working on the film's script. It will be co-produced by Shemaroo. ## The producer stated that Bhagam Bhag 2 will be funnier and madder than before and added, "A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge". Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is teaming up with Tamil director Atlee for a 2-hero action epic drama and the director is attempting to role in either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth for the parallel lead alongside SK, making it one of the biggest casting coups of the modern era. ## The film, which has yet to be officially announced, has created a sensation and is a major topic of discussion among the audience on social media. As things are moving quickly regarding this mega project, the plot details are reportedly revealed, hinting at a never-before-seen epic in the making. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, A6 (tentative title) is a reincarnation drama set in two distinct eras – past and present. It's going to be Salman Khan presented like never before in the avatar of a warrior in the period era, whereas the present era dynamics have been kept under wraps for now. ## The film will mostly focus on the period portions rather than the present as director Atlee is looking to have a strong, never-seen-before period set up with breath-taking visuals of a fictional world where drama and conflict have more scope. ## The scripting of the film is underway and director Atlee will start pre-production next year. Mumbai, November 22 - One of the Bollywood classics from Yash Raj Films, Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta, continues to spread magic even after more than 2 decades later.## Directed by Nikhil Advani, the romantic comedy was re-released on November 15, continuing the trend Bollywood has successfully followed throughout this year. The film opened around 12 lakh gross collection from a little over 100 shows before the shows increased from the second day onwards.## Footfalls significantly increased after more shows were added as the movie grossed approximately 90 lakh in the first weekend. The nostalgia factor and popularity among the audiences continued to play its role after the weekend as the Monday collection was almost the same as Saturday. ## The movie grossed approximately 1.50 crores from Monday to Thursday with a positive trend during the weekdays. Tokyo, November 21 - Aamir Khan's production Laapataa Ladies, which is also India's official Oscar 2025 entry, has beaten the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Ceasefire at the Japanese box office. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, the rural comedy-drama has minted over ¥50 million (2.75+ crore gross) in 45 days so far. Pathaan had grossed approximately 50 million yen while Salaar: Ceasefire earned approximately 46 million yen. Both the films were 2 of the biggest Indian grossers of 2023. ## The total worldwide collection of Laapataa Ladies is approximately 31 crores gross, including 25 crores gross at the Indian box office. The movie was a decent success in India. It is expected to have a good run at the Japanese box office. ## As said, Laapata Ladies is the 14th highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan. Chennai, November 19 - Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's biographical war action drama Amaran has entered the 300 crore club at the worldwide box office, becoming only the 8th Tamil movie of all time to achieve the milestone. ## The Rajkumar Periasamy's directorial venture topped the milestone on its 20th day (third Tuesday) as the total worldwide collection is expected to be around 301+ crores gross, including 224+ crores gross domestically and 77+ crores at the overseas box office. ## Amaran is the second Tamil movie after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time and 8th Indian title of 2024 to hit the box office milestone of 300 crores gross. It is the first for actor Sivakarthikeyan along with actress Sai Pallavi and director Periasamy to have this achievement. ## Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures Films India, Amaran is easily one of the biggest blockbusters of Tamil cinema. Los Angeles, November 19 - Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has topped $1 million in pre-sales at the North American box office with 16 days still left for the premiere which is scheduled on December 4. ## Prathyangira Cinemas is releasing the movie in North America and the studio claimed that it is the fastest Indian movie to hit $1 million in pre-sales for the premiere. The movie has sold over 35K tickets from over 3200 shows across around 850 locations so far. ## The pre-sales of Pushpa 2 opened with a bang before slowing down after a few days. It has started picking up again after the trailer which was launched on November 17 and received positive reception all around. The trade is expecting the pre-sales trend to further pick up in the coming days. ## The initial trend indicated that Pushpa 2 may score the biggest premiere for an Indian movie in North America and it can still manage to do that if momentum picks up which is being anticipated. It has beaten the views of KGF: Chapter 2 which generated 49 million views in the first 24 hours in Hindi on YouTube. Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki trailer remains on top with 58.50 million views.## The Telugu trailer of the film has created a record with 44.65 million views in the first 24 hours. It has beaten Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram which scored 37.70 million views. Pushpa 2 Telugu trailer views are also the highest for a South Indian language trailer as Guntur Kaaram was previously the number 1 on this list. ## Overall, the Pushpa 2 trailer scored 104 million views in all languages in the first 24 hours on different YouTube channels. Chennai, November 16 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy action thriller Kanguva failed to score a big jump on its first Saturday which was a must after the underwhelming second day. As expected, the negative word of mouth has started cutting the audience. ## According to the early estimates, on the first Saturday/third day the all-India gross of the movie is almost in the similar range as yesterday with around 11 crores gross. The movie has seen a decent but not enough jump in the home state Tamil Nadu with an estimated around 5 crore gross collection today. ## Kanguva needed a big jump today to cover the lost ground but that didn't happen which shows the movie is facing rejection from the audience. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie has seen a drop almost everywhere which is concerning. It is unlikely the movie will see much turnaround on Sunday but a drop will seal the deal. ## The total domestic collection of the film after 3 days is around 51 crores gross which could have been a very good collection of any of Suriya's previous films but can't be said the same about Kanguva which was made on a huge budget. Both Akshay and Ajay agreed that there is a lack of unity in the industry but also assert that the same is not among the 90s stars. ## Ajay said that he along with Akshay, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, who all debuted around the 1990s, are there for each other when it comes to supporting each other films and never made things difficult for each other which is not the case for the current gen of actors, who, as reported many a times, don't support each other's movies.## The actor also reflects on the noble gesture by Akki towards him regarding the title of Son of Sardaar.
