The Kerala Story First Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 11 - The blockbuster controversial film The Kerala Story completes its first full week at the box office with flying colors, scoring close to 80 crores net collection. ## After the excellent first six days, TKS remains in the same line and scored an estimated 11-12 crores net, pushing the total net collection to around 80 crores. It may also finish above 80 crores which remains to see. ## The Kerala Story will cross the 100 crore net mark by its second Saturday and will become the fourth Bollywood movie of the year to reach this milestone. For a movie that was made on a low budget, this is an excellent box office return and it is not going to stop anytime soon.## There are a few films releasing this weekend in the form of "IB 71" and "Chatrapathi", among others, but TKS is expected to remain the first choice. Mumbai, May 11 - South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna is on a roll with back-to-back Bollywood films. After winning appreciation in "Goodbye" and "Mission Majnu", Rashmika now seems to be in a hurry to sign multiple Bollywood films. ## The actress is already in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal" opposite Ranbir Kapoor and also reportedly signed Dinesh Vijan's historical drama "Chhava" with Vicky Kaushal playing the lead. And now, according to the latest reports, the 27-year-old grabs director Anees Bazmee's next. ## It has been reported that Anees Bazmee would be teaming up with Shahid Kapoor for an action comedy film and the latest reports say that Rashmika has joined the cast as the female lead. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Dil Raju and Ekta Kapoor with whom Rashmika previously worked on "Goodbye" and "Varisu". ## The movie will reportedly feature Shahid Kapoor in a double role for the first time in his career. It is an action comedy entertainer with a quirky storyline. The rest of the cast is being finalized and will be announced soon. ## The shoot of the film is expected to begin in August this year after Shahid completes Rosshan Andrrews' investigative thriller, which is the remake of the Malayalam movie "Mumbai Police" for Roy Kapur Films. The actor, meanwhile, will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar's "Bloody Daddy" which premieres on Jio Cinema on June 9, and also has Dinesh Vijan's robotic romance comedy, scheduled to release later this year.## Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, will be seen in "Animal", scheduled for August 11 release, along with a slice-of-life Telugu film "Rainbow" and an untitled film with Nithiin. Mumbai, May 10 - The Kerala Story continues to go up at the box office as the movie sees another good jump in collection on its first Wednesday. ## On its first Wednesday, the movie scores a growth of around 10% over Tuesday's collection for an estimated 12 crores net. This is the second back-to-back jump in the collection of the film despite the working days and takes the total net collection to around 69 crores in 6 days. ## The full opening week collection of The Kerala Story is now expected to be around 80+ crores net and then, it will breach the 100 crores net mark, mostly on its second Saturday.## The film showing a jump during weekdays despite the fact that it is facing difficulties in getting a proper release in a few states shows that TKS has become a rage, just like Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" last year. As said earlier, the lifetime collection of the movie is hard to predict but it is certain to finish over 200 crores net.## TKS will be released internationally on May 12 and it is expected to witness a good response as domestic. The trailer is getting blockbuster responses all-over and has turned the tide in favor of the film. ## Thanks to the huge response, the 3 minutes 19-second-long promo has become the most-viewed trailer on YouTube in the Hindi language in the first 24 hours. Mumbai, May 9 - After delivering a blockbuster with Ajay Devgn-fronted "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior", director Om Raut is back to conquer a bigger in the form of Adipurush. Amid huge expectations, the trailer of the film was launched on Tuesday and it exceeded expectations of all. ## The story of Adipurush is set in the time when Ram was in exile with Sita and Laxman and it mainly focuses on the Ram-Sita-Ravan conflict. Prabhas plays the role of Lord Rama and his look is different from the conventional one purely because he has been presented as a warrior which is Raut's strong point. ## The scene between Prabhas and Kriti Sanon who plays the role of Sita is beautiful and mesmerizing though their scenes are less in the trailer. Sunny Singh as Laxman is ok and so is Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. The makers have also kept fewer scenes of Raavan played by Saif Ali Khan but those in the trailer are brilliant.## The CGI is much better and looks believable than the teaser which was launched last year. The background music by Ajay-Atul is the major highlight and is perfectly in sync with the trailer. Despite the negligible animated touch, the Adipurush trailer hits the right notes and is surely going to increase the excitement among the fans. ## The movie is a big attempt by Om Raut to bring the timeless tale of Ramayana to life and it will unanimous audience turnaround to justify this big move. It is sung by Arijit Singh, Sukriti Kakar, Vishal, and Sheykhar while lyrics are penned by Kumaar and music is composed by Vishal and Sheykhar. ## ## Talking about the film, "Pathaan" is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. The movie had an excellent first weekend with 35.25 crores net coming in. ## Despite facing bans and backlash, The Kerala Story scored is showing a jump of around 30% on Monday from Friday for an estimated 10-11+ crores net, which is phenomenal, to say the least. The drop from Sunday is around 30% which shows the power of solid word of mouth. ## Directed by Sudipto Sen, TKS is going The Kashmir Films' way which created a sensation last year. TKF, however, had a lower opening but was unstoppable after the opening day, and the same is seem to be happening with TKS. The total collection of the film stands at 46 crores net after today's collection. ## TKS is performing very well everywhere, especially in the Maharashtra region. Even in Kerala state, which is the core plot of the film's story, TKS is performing well on the limited shows available. The movie, however, is not able to get more shows due to the boycott it is facing in the state. ## The lifetime collection of the film is hard to predict as this sort of film doesn't follow a pattern but it is certain to cross 100 crores and even 200 crores net collection is looking well within the reach. Mumbai, May 7 - The Kerala Story records a fantastic opening weekend at the domestic box office with an estimated 35+ crores net coming in over a 3-day weekend. ## After 19.25 crores net in the first two days, the drama film sees another big jump of around 40% for an estimated 16+ crores net on its third day or first Sunday. The jump on Sunday is in similar lines as Saturday. The 3 days total collection of The Kerala Story is approx. 35.25 crores net, which is easily the 4th biggest Bollywood opening of the year and beats most of the mainstream movies. ## Interestingly, The Kerala Story comfortably beats Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which was easily the biggest movie this weekend at the Indian box office. The movie was produced by YRF and went on to gross over 1050 crores worldwide. ## Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for his next, titled "Jawan" and Yash Raj Films has decided to distribute this highly-anticipated action entertainer in the international markets. The movie is directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by SRK's home banner Red Chillies Entertainer. ## It was recently reported that Aditya Chopra's YRF had offered to release "Jawan" internationally as a thank-you gesture for "Pathaan" historic success and now, it has officially been confirmed. FYI, "Pathaan" was distributed by YRF on its own worldwide and it grossed over 390 crores at the overseas box office. ## "Jawan" is scheduled to release on September 7, 2023, after it was postponed from its originally announced June 2 release. This sort of growth was always on the card after the movie managed to attract super-positive reviews and word of mouth. ## The collection of The Kerala Story is strong all over, largely thanks to its controversial subject which is attracting audiences to the cinemas. Going by the early estimates, TKS has scored around 12.50 crores net on its second day/first Saturday. ## Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story is very much like Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files which created a sensation last year. TKF was also supported by the controversy which helped the film to post over 300 crores in collection worldwide. ## The Kerala Story, however, had more than double opening of The Kashmir Files which scored 27+ crores on opening weekend.
