Los Angeles, October 10 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan becomes the first Indian actor to have two films to gross $15+ million at the North America box office. ## Shah Rukh Khan's latest mega-blockbuster Jawan has crossed this box office mark today. Earlier this year, the superstar's "Pathaan" grossed $17.50 million which is the second highest-grossing Indian movie in North America, after Prabhas' "Baahubali 2" which scored $22 million.## "Jawan" is only the 4th Indian movie so far to breach the $15 million mark there, after "Baabubali 2", "Pathaan", and "RRR" ($15.20 million). Interestingly, both SRK-starrers have came in the same year, which is also a record for an Indian personality at the North American box office.## Directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, "Jawan" has grossed approximately 1120 crores at the global box office so far, including approx. 377 crores overseas collection. Mumbai, October 10 - Over the last few days, director Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic Ramayana has been in the news regarding its casting. The media reports have confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi roped in to play Maa Sita and Yash to play Raavan.## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the makers are in talks with Sunny Deol to play the role of Lord Hanuman. The makers believe that Sunny is a perfect fit for this mighty role which stands for strength. Deol has effortlessly played the roles in the past where he had to show the strength of the character and Lord Hanuman is another opportunity for him to deliver the same.## The actor has shown interest in being a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s rendition of Ramayana and is also excited to play the part of Lord Hanuman. However, the talks are said to be in the initial stage currently and are moving in the right direction.## The report also reveals that the makers are also discussing a standalone movie about Bajrang Bali with Sunny Deol in the lead. Mumbai, October 10 - Aditya Chopra-headed Yash Raj Films is getting ready for its next blockbuster release in the form of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-fronted Tiger 3. The spy action thriller, directed by Maneesh Sharma, will hit big screens on Diwali this year in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, languages.## On Tuesday (October 10), YRF released the first look solo poster of Katrina Kaif's Zoya in the movie, and with this, the studio also confirmed the premium format release of "Tiger 3" in IMAX. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan-led "Pathaan" was also released in IMAX and did very well in this format at the box office.## As said earlier, IMAX is a fast-growing big-screen cinema format in India. There are a total of 24 IMAX theaters in India and plans are there to open more screens in the coming years. Mumbai, October 10 - The third instalment of the comic caper film franchise "Fukrey" has emerged as a hit, joining the list of a number of Bollywood movies that conquered the box office in the last few months. ## Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, "Fukrey 3" has crossed the 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the 13th Hindi film of the year to do so. The movie crossed the century mark on its 11th day as the total collection now reached approximately 105 crores in 12 days.## In India, "Fukrey 3" has grossed approximately 92 crores (77.87 crores net) so far while overseas collection is around 13 crores. It will become the highest-grossing film in the franchise during the 3rd weekend, by crossing 112.30 crores gross collection of "Fukrey Returns".## The latest hit will also become the biggest franchise net grosser in India by tomorrow. Currently, "Fukrey Returns" is the number 1 movie with 80.16 crore net collection. Mumbai, October 9 - Akshay Kumar's biopic survival thriller, Mission Raniganj crashed on its first Monday after the low opening weekend. The movie could have a chance of some revival at the domestic box office by putting up a collection on Friday levels but that is not the case anymore.## Mission Raniganj, on its first Monday, scored an estimated 1-1.25 crores net collection, which takes the total collection to around 13.75 crores in 4 days. These collections could have been termed good for a low-budget movie but not a film featuring one of the biggest Bollywood stars. ## The film was carrying a low buzz before release and the makers didn't even put effort into generating awareness among the audiences by opting no to a minimum promotion strategy. The movie is heading towards finishing under 25 crores net mark, which is a disappointing performance.## Meanwhile, adult comedy-drama, Thank You For Coming, is also heading towards a similar fate as it scored an estimated approximately 50 lakh net collection, pushing a total 4-day cume to around 5.00 crores. Mumbai, October 9 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan had a fantastic 5th weekend at the domestic box office, scoring 6.45 crores net collection. The movie's total collection has now reached around 624 crores net while the gross collection is 741 crores. ## The 5th weekend collection has also helped the movie to cross 3.50 crores footfalls in India in all versions in 32 days. It has now become the most-watched Indian movie of 2023 in theatres, beating the previous record of SRK's own blockbuster "Pathaan" which scored around 3.40 crores footfalls.## The total admissions of "Jawan" currently stands at around 3.51 crores, including approximately 3 crores in Hindi alone. "Pathaan" had scored approximately 3.49 crores footfalls, including around 3.33 crores in Hindi alone. Sunny Deol's recent mega-blockbuster "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" is the third most watched Indian movie of the year with 3.41 crores admissions, which is also the 2nd most in Hindi in 2023.## In 2023, three Indian films have scored 3+ crores footfalls and all of them are Bollywood movies. Superstar Rajinikanth's Tamil blockbuster "Jailer" garnered approximately 2.80 crores in admissions, and is the 4th most-watched movie of the year so far.## Directed by Atlee Kumar, "Jawan" is also the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2023, at the domestic and worldwide box office. Mumbai, October 9 - It was not so good weekend at the Bollywood box office as far as the new releases are concerned. The just concluded weekend saw the release of Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj, all female-led adult comedy-drama Thank You For Coming, and the heart-warming love story Dono, but none of them could carry the momentum Bollywood was going through over the last few months. ## "Mission Raniganj", based on real-life survival thriller events and featuring one of the biggest Bollywood stars, couldn't find audiences in theatres in its opening weekend and scored just a little over 12 crores net collection. The movie needed to score more than the usual jump on Saturday and Sunday after the very low opening day. It did score a big jump on Saturday but was not enough to cover the lost ground and then was affected by the World Cup match on Sunday.## The adult comedy-drama, "Thank You For Coming", didn't get the opportunity to welcome the moviegoers in theatres as it also ended up scoring a very low opening weekend. The opening of the movie itself was low with 1.06 crores net, and despite the jump on Saturday and Sunday, it managed to collect 4.42 crores net in three days. The best it can now hope to score over opening day collection in the weekdays for a decent lifetime total. ## "Dono", a heart-warming romantic drama, starring debutante Rajveer Deol and Paloma Dhillon, was a goner on the opening day itself. It scored around 1 crore net in the opening weekend, joining the list of new releases which failed at the box office. ## Meanwhile, the holdover film, Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" had a fantastic 5th weekend in Hindi, scoring approximately 6.25 crores net which takes the total Hindi net collection to over 566 crores in 32 days. Mumbai, October 7 - After the shocking opening day, Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj sees a big jump on its second day at the domestic box office but not big enough to cover the lost ground. The movie jumped by around 70% today, but it needed to score over 100% as the opening day was low at 2.80 crores net.## On its first Saturday/second day, Mission Raniganj scored an estimated 4.50-5 crores net, taking the total collection to over 7.50 crores in two days. The two-day collection of the movie should have ideally been the opening day collection which was not the case, and now, so much has been left for it to chase. ## While the damage has already been done, Mission Raniganj can still make up if it shows a similar kind of jump tomorrow on Sunday and then performs on a similar level to today's collection on the first Monday. The three-day opening weekend of the movie is looking to be around 15 crores net which is not good enough for a film featuring Akshay Kumar.## Meanwhile, the adult comedy, Thank You For Coming, which had a low opening day at 1.06 crores net collection, scores a jump of around 40% today for an estimated 1.50 crores net collection. Mumbai, October 7 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is gearing up to commence the shoot of director Rosshan Andrrews' cop thriller film which begins later this month. After finishing this, the "Kabir Singh" actor will team up with producer Vashu Bhagnani for a mythological epic, according to Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the project in question is based on one of the most powerful characters of the epic Mahabharata. While the details about the project are not revealed, it will be a VFX-heavy project, mounted on a massive scale. The movie will be directed by a South Indian director. ## It is said that the yet-untitled movie is the most ambitious project for Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment. They have already started developing this movie and are determined to create a never-before-seen visual extravaganza for the audiences. It will go on floors in 2024.## Interestingly, in February 2021, Pooja Entertainment had announced magnum opus Suryaputra Mahavir Karna, and it was supposed to be directed by RS Vimal, best known for his 2015 Mayalayam movie, Ennu Ninte Moideen. Mumbai, October 6 - There was an Akshay Kumar-starrer, Mission Raniganj released this Friday, and the audience was hardly aware of that. The makers haven't even promoted that movie properly, suggesting that they either were too confident or had no hopes for it.## The movie got favourable reviews from critics and the initial word of mouth also seems positive, but because the makers didn't put much effort into promoting it and the lack of awareness among general audiences, there was hardly any opening of the movie at the box office.## Mission Raniganj opened to dull occupancy in the morning and it didn't improve a bit in the next shows as well, as early estimates suggest around 2.75 crores net opening. The final numbers may vary a little bit here and there, but it will still be a disastrous and one of the lowest openings ever for an Akshay Kumar-starrer.## The movie was carrying a low buzz due to obvious reasons, but it was still expected to take even a decent opening as Akshay recently delivered a box office hit in the form of "OMG 2". But again, two quick back-to-back releases were too much to ask for. ## Earlier in the year, Akshay's "Selfiee" opened to similar kinds of numbers and ended up as one of the biggest disasters of his career. Mumbai, October 6 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen in "Lal Singh Chaddha" in 2022, has set his next release on Christmas 2024. According to reports, Aamir will be headlining the official adaptation of the Spanish sports dramedy, Champions, with RS Prassana as the director. ## Aamir was supposed to headline the "Champions" adaptation immediately after LSC, but after the later movie failed at the box office, the superstar dropped the idea of taking another remake before he finally decided to headline as well as produce it. The shoot for the same is expected to commence in January 2024 for Christmas release later in the year. ## The pre-production of the movie is going on at a brisk pace. Meanwhile, according to Pinkvilla, Aamir and his team have locked the title which is very much identical to one of his past blockbusters. It is said that the movie has been titled "Sitaare Zameen Par" which is about a sports coach bonding with and training a team of specially-abled kids, much like "Taare Zameen Par", which chronicled the journey of a teacher and specially-abled student. ## The film is a slice-of-life sports drama which Amair has mastered over the years. The movie will clash with Akshay Kumar's "Welcome to The Jungle" aka "Welcome 3". Mumbai, October 5 - Last year, it was reported that Bollywood star Ajay Devgn would be returning to reprise his role of Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa in the sequel to his 2012 movie Son of Sardaar. However, there have been no updates regarding the same since then until yesterday.## According to reports, Son of Sardaar 2 is officially in the works and it will go on floors around summer next year. It is said that Ajay Devgn is trying to turn SOS into a franchise and has been working with his team on the idea for the sequel to take the franchise forward.## Ajay and the team have finally locked an idea for SOS 2 and the official announcement of the movie is expected to be made soon. The sequel will have a completely new story and an entirely new cast except for Ajay Devgn who will play the role of a devoted Sardaar. ## Meanwhile, the "Tanhaji" actor will be taking multiple sequels apart from SOS 2.
