Mumbai, October 4 - After the historic blockbuster success of Gadar 2, Bollywood star Sunny Deol is set to headline more sequels to his iconic movies. Sunny, who just yesterday announced his reunion with Rajkumar Santoshi for a period action drama film Lahore 1947, has been in talks for the sequel to Border and there is finally good news regarding the same.## According to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Ayushmann Khurana is in the advanced talks to join Sunny Deol in this epic war drama sequel. The actor will play the parallel lead alongside Sunny in Border 2, to be directed by JP Dutta who will also produce it with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series.## The makers have planned to make Border 2 on a grand scale and have a vision to make it the biggest war drama film in Indian cinema. The movie is currently in the scripting stage and will start shooting in mid-next year. The makers are in talks with several actors and details regarding them will come in due course.## Meanwhile, Sunny Deol's Lahore 1947, which will be produced by Aamir Khan, will start rolling out around December this year. He also has an action drama, Baap in the pipeline. December 2023 To Become The First Month To Register 1000 Crores Net Collection At The Hindi Box Office?

Mumbai, October 4 - The revival of the Indian box office, especially of Bollywood post the horror of the COVID-19 pandemic has been heartening. In 2023, the box office soared to new heights and has already crossed 8000 crores gross in India with still 3 blockbuster months left in the tank.## This year, the Hindi film industry rose from Phoenix and created new records at the domestic box office. It all began with Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January and this box office juggernaut is continuing with his latest blockbuster, Jawan, starring SRK again. ## Such has been the response from moviegoers that 2023 recorded the biggest signal month collection of all time in August when Sunny Deol's monster blockbuster, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 released. With 814 crores net collection, August is now the biggest single month ever at the Hindi box office. The following month, September is second best with 689 crores net, thanks to Jawan which became the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time.## The Bollywood industry is hook-a-cook over the historic box office performance this year, but be rest assured, the potential biggest month of the year is yet to come. December 2023 is packed with, not one but multiple blockbusters. If there is no postponement from the current schedule, the last month of the year will potentially become the biggest ever in Hindi domestically.## The December month carnage will begin with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur on December 1st. The gangster action drama, Animal, which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is particularly having a sky-high buzz and it is expected to emerge as Ranbir's one of biggest grossers ever. ## Sam Bahadur, which is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, is directed by Meghna Gulzar and as far as the box office is concerned, it carried the potential of turning beast as Kaushal has proved his mettle with patriotic film in the past.## A week later, Sidharth Malhotra's aerial action thriller, Yodha and Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas will take on each other on December 8. Originally scheduled for December 15, both movies recently advanced their release dates. Yodha vs. Merry Christmas is perhaps the lesser-hyped clash at the moment but it can generate buzz after the teaser/trailer launch and can emerge as the dark horse at the box office.## The biggest box office clash of the year, or possibly the Indian cinema, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas-fronted Salaar will take place on December 22 during the Christmas weekend. SRK, after delivering two back-to-back mega-blockbusters, will look to score a hat-trick and with Rajkumar Hirani in the director's chair, Dunki is already looking like a box office volcano.## Salaar, from the makers of the KGF franchise, can emerge as another big hit at the Hindi box office from South India. It is easily the most-awaited Pan-Indian movie and with superstar Prabhas in the lead role under the direction of Prashanth Neel, Salaar should score a big success in Hindi.## There is enough scope for the aforementioned films to make December 2023 the biggest month of all time, and eventually the first 1000 crores net or more. Dunki and Salaar are easily looking to contribute the major chunk of the total box office collection of the month, followed by Animal and Sam Bahadur in the clash. However, all the movies released in December will have to fight out for the screens, not only with each other but also with the holdover movies. Mumbai, October 3 - After the good extended holiday weekend, comic caper "Fukrey 3" sees a drop on its first working day. The drop from Monday, which was a Gandhi Jayanti holiday, is around 60% while the same is around 40% from Friday which is a bit higher than expected. ## On its first Tuesday/6th day, "Fukrey 3" scored an estimated 4.50 crores net collection (can go higher) which takes the total collection to around 59.50 crores in 6 days. A 5+ crore net Tuesday would have been a nice hold. The first 8-day extended weekend is looking to be around 67 crores. ## "Fukrey 3", despite the underwhelming first working day, is in a safe position due to the controlled budget. The movie is still in the race to join the 100 Crores Net Club, but if it falls short, the movie will be a box-office success. It should be able to cross the lifetime collection of its predecessor which scored approximately 80 crores net in 2017 in the second weekend.## "Fukrey Returns" had scored 50 crores net in the first week which the latest hit crossed in just 5 days. The trend is much better for the latest movie, which should ensure a healthy lifetime total for it though it has to face competition from Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" this Friday while Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" is already running strong.## Stay tuned...

Among the 10 films, "Happy Teachers Day" will release this year while 6 films will debut in 2024, and 3 films will hit screens in 2025.## Happy Teachers Day - Directed by Mikhil Musale, the movie stars Nimrat Kaur, Radhika Madan, Bhaygashree, and Subodh Bhave in prominent roles. It will hit screens on October 27, 2023. ## Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's untitled next - Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon team up for the first for this robotic romantic comedy film, billed as an impossible love story. Directed by Amit Joshi & Aradhana Sah and also starring Dharmendra, and Dimple Kapadia, the movie will be released on February 9, 2024, during Valentine's Day weekend.## Munjhya - A part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjhya stars Sharvari Wagh in the lead role alongside, Mona Singh, S Satyaraj, and Abhay Verma. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it will be released on March 29, 2024.## Tehran - Directed by Arun Gopalan, the movie stars John Abraham, Manushi Chillar, and Neeru Bajwa in the leading roles. The movie has been in production since last year and was supposed to be released in January 2023. It will now be hitting cinemas on April 26, 2024.## Stree 2 - Easily the most-awaited movie from Maddock Films, "Stree 2" is the sequel to 2018's film which was the first movie in the studio's horror-comedy universe. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie stars Shraddha Kapoor in the title role alongside, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The movie will be released on August 30, 2024.## Sky Force - Another big-budgeted war movie, which was recently announced. Starring superstar Akshay Kumar, and marking the debut of Veer Pahariya, "Sky Force" is based on India's first and deadliest air strike during the Indo-Pak war in 1965. It is directed by Sandeep Kewlani & Abhishek Anil Kapur and will be released on October 2, 2024.## Chaava - This historical action drama film is a larger-than-life biopic of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire's founder and the great warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role with Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Directed by Laxman Utekar, "Chaava" will hit cinemas on December 6, 2024.## Ekkis - Directed by Sriram Raghavan, and starring Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda, and Jaideep Ahlawat, Ekkis will be released on January 10, 2025.## Vampires of Vijaynagar - Another movie that is touted to be a part of the horror-comedy universe. Maddock Films hasn't revealed that cast yet, but reports say it will be headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, and Maddock has scheduled it for February 14, 2025, release on Valentine's Day.## Diler - Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, it will hit theatres on April 10, 2025. The drop from Sunday is around 25% which was expected as tomorrow is a proper working day which means the night shows are as strong as they were on Sunday.## "Fukrey 3", on its first Monday/5th day, scored an estimated 11-11.50 crores net collection, taking the total collection to around 55 crores. It all boils down to Tuesday which will be the first litmus test for the movie. If it holds well, then the first 8-day week can be around 70 crores net. ## A good hold on Tuesday will also keep "Fukrey 3" in the race to top 100 crores net collection which will be a win for the makers. The movie is breaking records for fun and still, there is no sign of slowing down anytime soon.## Directed by Atlee Kumar, "Jawan" has become the first film ever to top 550 crores net collection in Hindi as well as in a single language in India. The action thriller crossed this magical figure on its 26th day for 554.44 crores net. The second biggest movie in the single language is Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" with around 525 crores net. ## The film keeping the dream alive to top 600 crores net collection in Hindi, however, it will need to hold extremely well in the coming days to conquer this yet untouched box office mark. The coming weekend will determine whether it will reach the 600 crores mark as there are a couple of new films, including Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" will be released this Friday. ## While 600 crores box office mark in Hindi is still a long way, "Jawan" has topped this figure in all versions, including Tamil and Telugu, and becomes the first Bollywood movie ever to do so. The movie should score another double-digit box office collection tomorrow, on the occasion of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.## The trend for the movie has been good with very good growth over the weekend. PVR Pictures was renamed PVR INOX Pictures after the completion of the merger between the two companies. ## Kamal Gianchandani, CEO at PVR INOX, announced on Twitter/X that "Jawan" has crossed 215 crores net collection in PVRINOX, becoming the highest-grossing film ever.
