Bobby Deol To Play Antagonist In Suriya's Pan India Movie 'Kanguva'

Chennai, July 25 - Bollywood actor Bobby Deol is all set to make his big Tamil debut with the Suriya-fronted Pan India movie, "Kanguva", according to the latest reports.## Bobby Deol, who is already doing Pan India Telugu movie "Hari Hara Veera Mallu"-fronted by Pawan Kalyan, has reportedly been roped in to play the main antagonist in Kanguva. He will play a merciless baddie in the Siva-directed film and will start shooting for his portions in Bangkok next month. ## "Kanguva", which is a period action drama film, is one of the most-anticipated Tamil movies. Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, the movie has Disha Patani as the female lead, making her debut in Tamil cinema. ## The makers recently unveiled the first look glimpse of "Kanguva" which got a blockbuster response. Chennai, May 21 - Amid the speculations, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has officially been confirmed to direct Thalapathy Vijay's next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. The movie will be produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment while Yuvan Shankar Raja is on board to compose the music. ## "Thalapathy 68" marks the maidan collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu, who recently directed Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie "Custody" starring Naga Chaitanya. Mani Ratnam's Blockbuster 'Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2' Crosses 300 Crores At The Worldwide Box Office

Chennai, May 10 - Blockbuster filmmaker Mani Ratnam's historical action drama film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 has crossed the 300 crores mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the first Tamil and the second Indian movie of the year to reach the milestone. ## The second of two cinematic parts based on the 1954 novel Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamurthy reached the triple-century mark on its 11th day, 5 days more than the first part last year. "PS-2" has underperformed compared to the first part but it still has done well enough to be called a successful venture.## The total worldwide collection of "PS-2" is around 304 crores worldwide in 12 days, including 187 crores domestically and around 117 crores overseas. The first had grossed around 490 crores in its lifetime run, including 315 crores domestically and 175 crores overseas.## "PS-2" has done well at the Tamil Nadu box office with around 114 crores gross, becoming the third film of the year after "Varisu" and "Thunivu" to breach the 100 crores mark in the state. Chennai, May 7 - Mani Ratnam's historical action drama film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 is continuing with its strong performance at the domestic as well as overseas box office. ## The second and final part of "Ponniyin Selvan" is nearing 300 crores, currently stands at around 282 crores in 9 days, at the worldwide box office, and is likely to reach there by today or tomorrow. The first part, which was released in September last year, grossed close to 500 crores worldwide and the second part is also turning out to be a big money spinner. ## Meanwhile, "PS-2" has crossed 100 crores gross collection in Tamil Nadu, becoming the 3rd film of the year to do so after Thalapathy Vijay's "Varisu" and Ajith Kumar's "Thunivu".
