Box Office: Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' Scored 4th Biggest Opening of All-Time For An Indian Movie Worldwide

Chennai, October 20 - Thalapathy Vijay's action drama Leo shattered records to score the biggest worldwide opening for an Indian movie of the year and the 4th biggest of all time.
Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial movie was in full flow on its opening day and scored a mammoth approx. 142.50 crores at the worldwide box office. It has beaten superstar Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" (129 crores) to score the biggest opening day of 2023.
"Leo" also became the first Tamil movie of all time to score 100+ crores on opening day, and breaks Rajinikanth's "2.0's" record by a huge margin. In India, the latest LCU movie minted huge approx. 76 crores gross while overseas opening day box office collection is 64 crores.
The 140 crores worldwide opening of "Leo" is now the 4th biggest for an Indian movie ever, after "RRR" (223 crores), "Baahubali 2" (217 crores), and "KGF: Chapter 2" (159 crores). Prabhas-fronted "Saaho" is the 5th biggest opener in this list with 130 crores worldwide gross.
