Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' Targets Historic Opening At The Worldwide Box Office

Chennai, October 14 - Less than a week left for Thalapathy Vijay's highly-anticipated action drama film Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie marks the second collaboration between the actor and director after the blockbuster "Master" which was released during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, so there are high expectations from the upcoming movie.

"Leo", produced by Seven Screen Studio, is targeting no less than a record-breaking and historic opening at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. In India, the film will receive the widest release ever for a Tamil title. Though the movie will not receive early morning screenings in the home state, Tamil Nadu, it is still certain to score a record-breaking opening.



The trade is buzzing with the high possibilities and is projecting "Leo" to score at least 60 crores gross opening day at the domestic box office. If opens to the predicated lines, it will be the second biggest Tamil opener ever domestically, after Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0".

Overseas, "Leo" is trending well above all other films and is certain to become the biggest Tamil overseas opener ever. The advance booking of the film is running riot in international markets as trade is projecting a minimum of $6 million (50 crores) on opening day, for worldwide 110+ crores start.

The opening of "Leo" will be the biggest ever for a Tamil movie as no other film has touched the 100 crores mark previously. Rajinikanth and Akshay's "2.0" is believed to be the biggest opener at 95 crores worldwide and this record is certain to be broken by "Leo".

The film is scheduled to release on October 19, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages, in regular as well as the IMAX format in Tamil version.
