Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' Becomes Biggest Indian Opening Day Grosser At The UK Box Office

London, October 13 - After becoming the biggest Tamil opening day grosser ever, Thalapathy Vijay's highly-awaited Leo goes a step further to emerge as the biggest Indian opener at the UK box office in advance booking itself, beating Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan".

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Leo" has so far grossed £320.5K (3.25 crores) advance booking collection for the opening day with 6 days still to go for the release. SRK's mega-blockbuster "Pathaan" was previously the biggest Indian opener in the UK with £319K, which it scored in January this year.



Interestingly, in the top 5 biggest Indian openers at the UK box office, "Leo" is the only non-Bollywood movie. SRK's latest blockbuster "Jawan" is the third on the list with £307K, followed by Salman Khan's "Sultan" (£270K), and SRK's "Chennai Express" (£358K).

"Leo" is having an excellent pre-sales response everywhere at the overseas box office and it is certain to emerge as the biggest Tamil opener of all time at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. It could also become the first Tamil movie to score 100+ crores in opening day gross collection worldwide.

Produced by Seven Screen Studio, "Leo" stars Thalapathy Vijay in the titular role and Trisha Krishnan as the female lead alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, and Mysskin, among others. It will have record wide release on October 19 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, languages in the regular as well as IMAX format, only in Tamil language.
