SSMB28: Mahesh Babu's Next With Trivikram Srinivas To Begin In April 2022

Hyderabad, February 2 - Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu is teaming up with the master storyteller Trivikram Srinivas for a new film, tentatively titled #SSMB28. ## The duo of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram is coming together after nearly 12 years for their 3rd collaboration. Earlier, they collaborated for Athadu (2005), and Khaleja (2010), which were big hits. "SSMB 28" was announced in May last year and finally, it is set to take flight. ## On Thursday (Feb. 3), the film has been launched in style with a pooja ceremony at Rama Naidu Studios in Hyderabad in the presence of director Trivikram, Mahesh Babu's wife Namrata Shirodkar, and the leading actress of the film, Pooja Hegde. The superstar himself didn't attend the ceremony. ## The clapboard has been sounded by Namrata Shirodkar for the first shot on Pooja Hegde. "SSMB 28" marks Pooja Hegde's second collaboration with Mahesh Babu after their National Award-winning film "Maharshi" (2019). The new movie is to be produced by S Radhakrishna under the production house Haarika & Hassine Creations. ## Several noted actors and popular technicians will be associated with this project for which the announcement will be made in due course. The regular shoot will begin in April this year. Thaman S will score the music for the film.## Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu will next be seen in "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", which is slated for May 13th release this year. The movie, directed by Parasuram and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus, and GMB Entertainment, is currently on floors for the last leg of the shoot. The actor too was well on track to make a smashing comeback with Sidharth Anand's "Pathan" in early 2022 but the production got delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic and SRK's family issues. ## SRK had resumed the shoot of "Pathan" after the second covid-19 wave but due to the arrest of his son Aryan Khan in a drug case, he canceled all his work commitments for some time and devoted his full time to his family. However, things are finally looking all set and ready to roll. ## The King Khan recently made his comeback on social media and also completed his work commitments for ad shoots. Now according to reports, the superstar has planned to work non-stop for his feature films that are with directors Atlee and Rajkumar Hirani apart from Anand's "Pathan". He also has a cameo role in Salman Khan's "Tiger 3". ## According to Mid-Day, Shah Rukh Khan will resume the shoot of the much-discussed feature with Tamil director Atlee after wrapping up his cameo in "Tiger 3" and some bits of "Pathan" that need to be shot in India. The shoot for Atlee's film was supposed to be resumed in December last week or January but due to the rise in covid-19 cases, Atlee is now expected to resume filming in mid-February. ## Shah Rukh Khan also has a film with director Rajkumar Hirani for which the shoot will begin in March or April this year. It is reported that Atlee's team has been told to finish his project by March before Hirani's film goes on floors. ## Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathan" is expected to release in late 2022. It will be SRK's first film since "Zero" (2018). "Pathan" is a spy actioner that also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in prominent roles. Recently, the Hindi version of "Srivalli" hit 100 million views in just 3 weeks, and now, Samantha Prabhu's item number in the Hindi version, "Oo Bolega ya Oo Oo Bolega" has also reached 100 million views on YouTube.## Sung by Kanika Kapoor from the lyrics penned by Raqueeb Alam, "Oo Bolega ya Oo Oo Bolega" was released on T-Series' YouTube channel on January 7. Mumbai, February 1 - China's war film "Battle of Lake Changjin 2" has taken a storming start at the Chinese box office, surging to $105 million (RMB667 million) on the first day. The film has taken a commanding early lead at China's highly lucrative Lunar New Year box office race. ## "Battle of Lake Changjin" aka "Watergate Bridge" is the sequel to China's highest-grossing film of the same title. The first "Battle of Lake Changjin", which opened last year during China's October 1, National Day holiday, went on to score $913 million, becoming the biggest Chinese movie and the non-English film of all time. ## The sequel, which is also directed by the original directors Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark and Dante Lam, had grossed RMB487 million ($76.5 million) by 1.30 pm on Tuesday (Feb. 1), according to online ticketing agency Maoyan and Alibaba's Beacon data service (via Variety). By 10 pm, its total had passed RMB667 million ($105 million). ## "Battle of Lake Changjin" sequel, however, fell way short of breaking China's single-day box office record of RMB 1.05 billion (or $163 million at the time) set by Wanda's "Detective Chinatown 3" last year. However, the sequel has much better social scores than those of Detective Chinatown 3, with 9.6 on ticketing service Maoyan, 9.6 on Alibaba's Taopiaopiao ticketing platform, and 7.4 on popular reviews site Douban. ## According to Variety, Chinese State media has forecast that the film may finish over $1 billion at the end of its box office run. If the forecast turns out true, the "Battle of Lake Changjin 2" will become China's new all-time box office champion by surpassing its predecessor, which was also the second-highest-grossing film of 2021 worldwide, behind "Spider-Man: No Way Home".## The film glorifies China's victory over U.S. forces during a key battle in the Korean War (known in China as the "War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea"). Tejasswi along with Pratik Sehajpal were in the top 2 and the former was announced the winner by the show's host Salman Khan in the finale which was aired on January 30 on Colors TV. ## Tejasswi walked away with the trophy and cash prize of Rs 40 lakh. Apart from winning the title of Bigg Boss 15, the actress also bagged the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's popular supernatural fantasy show "Naagin 6". The announcement of "Naagin 6" was made during the finale of Bigg Boss 15. ## While Tejasswi is on cloud nine after winning the reality show and bagging the lead role in Naagin 6, several netizens accused the channel of making her the winner of Bigg Boss 15 only because she was supposed to play the protagonist in the upcoming show.## The actress opened up on such allegations of calling her biased winner and said that her victory has nothing to do with Naagin 6. The 28-year old said that she still would have played the lead in Naagin 6 even if she didn't win BB 15. ## "Nothing can take away from my win on BB. What I fail to understand is that if whatever happened with me didn't happen in the previous season. So, there has to be an exception and I am that exception. Why it is so difficult for people to believe that there is a person who can bag a show like Naagin and can also be a brilliant player?", Tejasswi told Bombay Times.## Meanwhile, Partik Sehajpal in an interview with Bollywood Life also reacted to the comments of calling Teja a fixed or biased winner. "Yaar honestly, biased winner kya hai? I have given my all. I think everyone who was a part of the show has given their best. Sabko unki maa-baap ki duae lagi hai. So, the prayers and love that I have received I deserve that and I am getting more than that what I expected.
