Suriya To Reunite With Blockbuster 'Soorarai Pottru' Director Sudha Kongara For Another Film

Chennai, January 27 - Tamil superstar Suriya received wide acknowledgment for his role in "Soorarai Pottru", released directly on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was directed by Sudha Kongara, who will now reunite with the actor for another film.
In a recent interview with Variety, Suriya confirmed that he would be teaming up with Sudha for one more film. It will, however, go on floors sometime next year after Suriya completes his currently in the pipeline projects.
For now, the actor is gearing up for the first theatrical release in more than two years in the form of "Etharkkum Thunindhavan". It was supposed to release on February 4 but postponed due to the covid-19 third wave and will now release in the second half of the same month.
Apart from the release of "ET", the next film that will commence shooting is with Bala, who previously directed him in "Nandha" (2001) and "Pithamagan" (2003). The actor also has Vetrimaaran's highly-awaited "Vaadivaasal", followed by a yet-untitled film with Siva.
Meanwhile, Suriya's last release "Jai Bhim", a direct-to-ott release on Prime Video, along with Mohanlal's "Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea", are the two Indian films among the 276 feature films that are eligible for this year's Academy Awards.
