Malayalam Cinema Strikes Another Blockbuster In 'Manjummel Boys'

Kochi, February 24 - Malayalam cinema is once again proving to be a top-notch content factory and is on a roll with back-to-back mega success in 2024. While the industry is still in a party mood over the blockbuster hits of Premayugam (Premalu and Bramayugam), it has struck another gold in no time in the form of Manjummel Boys.

The survival thriller, based on a true incident that occurred in 2006 which led to Siju David being awarded the Jeevan Raksha Padak Medal in 2008, is wooing audiences, not just in Kerala but also the other parts of the country. Moviegoers can not stop raving about the film, calling it one of the best-ever survival thrillers in Malayalam cinema.



Directed by Chidambaram S Poduval, Manjummel Boys is doing wonders at the box office with a domestic collection of approximately 7.70 crores gross in just 2 days, an incredible feat for the industry which is not as big as some other regional film industry.

Additionally, the film has minted around 7.50 crores gross at the overseas box office for over 15 crores worldwide collection in two days. It is already running riot in its limited capacity on Saturday and with Sunday still to come, the 4-day opening weekend worldwide could be around 35 crores gross.

2024 has been excellent for Mollywood so far. Within just two months, the industry has scored 4 big successes in the form of Abraham Ozlar, Premalu, Bramayugam, and now Manjummel Boys with the last three have come in February month. While Premalu has already crossed the 50 crores gross mark globally, Mammootty's Bramayugam is heading towards the milestone and the way Manjummel Boys is performing, it is certain to join the other two movies in the coveted box office club.
