First Three Days (Opening Weekend) Box Office Comparision of Animal, Jawan, and Pathaan In India and Worldwide

Mumbai, December 4 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor scripted history with his adult-rated action drama Animal which set the box office on fire in its opening weekend. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial was the number 1 film in the world during the weekend of December 1-3 and became the 4th Indian movie to achieve the feat. ## The response to Animal at the Ticket window can be termed a revolution in the modern era despite it being not able to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan's first three days' collections. But the fact that Animal faced show limitations due to long run time as well as being an adult-rated film and having fewer screens compared to Jawan, makes it a remarkable success. ## As said, Animal scored the second biggest opening weekend ever for a Bollywood movie at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. However, there was one more film that wasn't far behind Animal after the first three days: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. ## Here is Animal Vs Jawan Vs Pathaan Box Office Comparison in Hindi and Worldwide (3 Days)MovieIndia Net (Hindi)India GrossOverseasWorldwideAnimal₹ 201.53 Cr (₹ 176.58 Cr)₹ 240.50 Cr₹ 115.50 Cr₹ 356.00 CrJawan₹ 206.06 Cr (₹ 180.45 Cr)₹ 246.00 Cr₹ 137.20 Cr₹ 383.20 CrPathaan₹ 166.75 Cr (₹ 161.00 Cr)₹ 201.00 Cr₹ 122.00 Cr₹ 313.00 Cr## Note* - The overseas data of Animal haven't been provided separately by the producers. It is an estimated figure taken from the worldwide gross and might vary with the official collection. ## As the table suggests, there isn't much difference between Animal and Jawan at the domestic box office though the latter is ahead by just 6 crores. However, Jawan is much ahead of the Ranbir-led blockbuster in the international markets, mainly because of the mega-stardom of SRK outside India. Pathaan, on the other hand, managed to cross 200 crores gross domestically and 300 crores overseas after the first three days but was outgrossed by Animal in the overall numbers. ## As said, the success of Animal will speak louder in the coming years due to various reasons. It is the movie that has consolidated Ranbir's position among the biggest stars of Hindi cinema and also put director Sandeep Reddy Vanga in red-hot demand though he is already working with some of the biggest stars of the country.## Stay tuned...
