Box Office: 'Premalu' Becomes 5th Malayalam Movie To Top 100 Crore Worldwide Gross Collection

Kochi, March 13 - Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju's romantic comedy Premalu becomes the fifth Malayalam movie ever to top the 100 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. The movie achieved the milestone in its 5th week.

Directed by Girish A. D., Premalu has been a kind of revolution at the box office. Made on a budget of around 10 crores, the movie faced competition from bigger films and despite that, it has been showing incredible legs at the box office.



In India, Premalu has minted approximately 62+ crores gross while the overseas collection is an estimated 38 crores, for 100+ crores worldwide total after 33 days of its run. The movie was recently released in the Telugu dubbed version and has grossed over 2.50 crores in 5 days so far.

It is the 5th Malayalam movie of all time to enter the 100 crores gross club. Superstar Mohanlal's Pulimurugan was the first to achieve the feat in 2016, followed by the actor's Lucifer in 2019. Tovino Thomas-led survival Thriller 2018, which was released in 2023, was the third film, followed by the recently released Manjummel Boys which is on the brink of becoming the first Malayalam title to top 200 crores worldwide gross.

Premalu, meanwhile, will soon be released in the dubbed Hindi and Tamil versions.
