Box Office: Top 10 Eid Holiday Collection Of Bollywood Movies

Mumbai, April 12 - Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released on the Eid holiday but performed underwhelming at the box office. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie scored an estimated 15.50 crores net collection in Hindi. ## Eid has been one of the biggest days for the Bollywood box office but BMCM failed to seize the opportunity by not being able to generate enough buzz to score big on the day. Despite featuring an A-List star cast and a blockbuster director, the movie couldn't even make it to the top 10 biggest Eid holiday collections. ## There was Ajay Devgn's Maidaan also released but it also performed poorly, earning just around 4.50 crores net. Yash Officially Joins 'Ramayana' As Co-Producer And Actor

Mumbai, April 12 - Kannada superstar and producer, Yash has officially joined director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana. The actor-filmmaker's Monster Mind Creations will co-produce with Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios to bring this epic to global audiences. ## The upcoming adaptation of Ramayana is touted to be a dream project, not just for the talent involved but for Indian cinema overall. Apart from co-producing the film, which will be turned into a trilogy, Yash is also playing one of the main roles. ## Yash said in a statement (via Variety), "It has been my long-term aspiration to make films that will showcase Indian cinema on a global level. In pursuit of that, I was in L.A. to ally with one of the best VFX studios, and to my amazement, the driving force behind it was a fellow Indian. Namit and I had various ideation sessions, and coincidentally, our synergy on the vision for Indian cinema aligned perfectly".## "We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of ‘Ramayana’ came up. Namit had a part of it in the works. The ‘Ramayana,’ as a subject, deeply resonates with me and I had an approach in my mind for it. By joining forces to co-produce ‘Ramayana’ we are bringing together our collective vision and experience to create an Indian film that will ignite excitement and passion in audiences across the world". ## The cast of Ramayana will officially be announced real soon but it is known to the Indian audiences that Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash will be seen playing the role of Lankesh/Raavan, the main antagonist of Ramayana. The other cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikayi, and Arun Govil as Raja Dasharatha among others. ## The shoot of Ramayana has already commenced recently and the main cast will join it soon. Directed by Todd Phillips, the sequel to DC's 2019 film Joker, recorded 167 million digital views in the first 24 hours, reports Variety. ## The trailer views and social media engagement of Joker 2, headlined by Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, surpassed that of the first trailer of Barbie to become Warner Bros. Pictures' biggest trailer launch in recent years, perfectly setting the stage for its big theatrical debut in October 2024, per Variety.## Among the trailers launched in 2024, the Joker sequel is behind only Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine, which was launched during Super Bowl Sunday with massive 365 million views. It comfortably surpassed Disney's Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (100 million views) and also beat Pixar's Inside Out 2's 157 million views. ## The first Joker movie was a massive box office hit, grossing over $1 billion globally and also won Joaquin Phoenix his first Oscar for playing the titular role. Mumbai, April 11 - The Bollywood box office sees a low response on Eid day as both the big releases of the day, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Maidaan fail to capture the attention of moviegoers with underwhelming numbers. ## Both films are struggling to reach the 20 crore net mark combined which is disappointing. According to early estimates, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff-fronted BMCM scores around 15-16 crores net collection, all thanks to the last-minute push in advances and Eid holiday factor. ## After the initial response in pre-sales, BMCM was heading for a low double-digit start but got some sort of momentum in the final hours and spot booking to get a little push in the collection. The movie needs a big push over the weekend to get a respectable weekend total. ## Ajay Devgn-fronted Maidaan, which is more of a multiplex film, scores an estimated 4.50-5 crores net collection on opening day. It minted around 2.50 crores in Wednesday paid previews, so the full first-day total is around 7+ crores, which would have been decent had it been a pure opening day. ## Maidaan is likely to see a good jump over the weekend due to positive word of mouth. Hyderabad, April 10 - Siddhu Jonnalagadda's romantic crime comedy Tillu Square, a sequel to his blockbuster film DJ Tillu (2022), has become the third Telugu movie of 2024 to hit 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. ## The Mallik Ram's directorial movie has minted an estimated 73 crores at the Indian box office and 27 crores overseas in 12 days, earning more than 3X of the first movie that minted around 30 crores worldwide in its full run. ## Tillu Square, also starring Anupama Parameswaran, is the third Telugu film of 2024 after Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, and director Prasanth Varma's mega-blockbuster Hanuman, and the first for Siddhu to hit 100 crores gross at the global box office. ## The movie received super positive word of mouth and has been unstoppable at the box office since its release on March 29. Mumbai, April 8 - The Monsters are going berserk as Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is nearing the 100 crores gross mark at the Indian box office which will make it the first Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial sequel to his Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), has grossed an estimated 86.75 crores gross ($10.4 million) in India. It is the highest-grossing MonsterVerse film in India, beating its predecessor which grossed around 70 crores back in 2021. ## Godzilla x Kong will be topping 100 crores gross in India during its third weekend. The second highest-grossing Hollywood movie of the year is Kung Fu Panda 4 which has grossed around 40 crores so far. Overall, The New Empire is the 21st highest-grossing Hollywood film in India. ## At the worldwide box office, the sequel has topped $350 million and is currently at $361 million (3010 crores), including $135 million (1125 crores) at the domestic (North America) box office and $226 million (1885 crores) overseas. Mumbai, April 7 - In one of the major surprises of the year, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon-fronted heist comedy film Crew has topped 100 crores at the worldwide box office and emerged as a hit venture for the makers. ## Directed by Lootcase fame Rajesh A Krishnan, the all-female-led entertainer reached the 100 crore gross globally on its 10th day and becomes the 5th Bollywood film of 2024 to achieve the feat after Fighter, Shaitaan, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Article 370. ## Crew has grossed approximately 69 crores (including an estimated second Sunday collection) in India and an estimated 36 crores overseas for 105+ crores worldwide gross in 10 days. With this, it has surpassed the total collection of Article 370 and becomes the 4th highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year. ## It has become Kareena Kapoor's 12th film to enter the 100 crores worldwide box office club while for Tabu, Crew is her 11th film (including supporting roles), and 6th for Kriti Sanon. It has beaten last year's mega-blockbuster 2018, which achieved the feat in 11 days. ## Aadujeevitham has grossed approximately 57 crores at the domestic box office, including 41 crores in Kerala, and an estimated 43 crores overseas for a worldwide cume of 100 crores in 9 days. It scored 6+ crores gross worldwide on its second Friday. ## Made on a budget of over 80 crores, Aadujeevitham is the first film for Prithviraj Sukumaran (in lead role) as well as for director Blessy to hit 100 crores globally. Kochi, April 5 - Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life has had a record-breaking extended opening week at the domestic and worldwide box office with a gross collection of over 90 crores over the extended 8-day week. ## Directed by Blessy, Aadujeevitham grossed a huge 93.50 crores, including approximately 54 crores in India and 39.50 crores overseas. The domestic collection includes around 38.4 crores from Kerala, making it the biggest first-week total in the state. ## The film will be topping 100 crores worldwide gross collection by tomorrow (10 days) and will become the fastest Malayalam movie ever to achieve the milestone. Madhava, and Janki Bodiwala, Shaitaan has grossed approximately 166.75 crores in India and an estimated 33.25 crores overseas in 4 weeks (28 days) for worldwide 200 crores gross. The movie is likely to score another 3-4 crores gross to finish around 205 crores. ## Shaitaan is the 6th film for Ajay Devgn to enter the 200 crores worldwide gross club, after Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Drishyam 2, Golmaal Again, Total Dhamaal, and Singham Returns while R. Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune 3' Is Officially In Development

Los Angeles, April 5 - Paul Atreides will be returning to conquer the galaxy as the threequel to Warner Bros. mega hit Dune franchise is officially confirmed, according to Variety.## Following the massive success of Dune: Part 2, which has already grossed over $625 million globally and still going strong, Warner Bros. has tapped director Denis Villeneuve to develop the third part which will continue the story of Paul Atreides. ## There is no timeline fixed yet for when Dune Messiah/Dune 3 will go on floors. Variety has also revealed that Villeneuve is in discussion to reunite with Legendary for an adaptation of Annie Jacobsen's Pulitzer Prize finalist "Nuclear War: A Scenario".## Nuclear War: A Scenario explores a ticking-clock scenario about what would happen in the event of a nuclear war, based on dozens of exclusive new interviews with military and civilian experts who built the weapons and have been privy to the response plans and have been responsible for those decisions should they have needed to be made.## It is not yet confirmed which film will be made first but the studio reportedly intends to make Dune 3 before its Nuclear War: A Scenario movie with the filmmaker.## Stay tuned...
