Mumbai, March 27 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's long-awaited sports biopic Maidaan is finally coming to the big screens this Eid. Directed by Amit Sharma ("Badhaai Ho"), the movie will be hitting theatres on April 10, in a direct clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan". ## Maidaan has been in development for a long time and it is being touted as one of the finest Bollywood films ever made. Los Angeles, March 27 - Director Adam Wingard's monster film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is projected to take the box office by storm in its opening weekend globally. The movie is riding on the mostly positive reviews from critics. ## Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise, Godzilla x Kong is projected to earn $135+ million at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend, according to Deadline. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the highly-awaited sequel is expected to gross in the range of $50 million on opening weekend while the movie is projected to earn around $85 million internationally over 63 markets. Some projections are indicating a $100+ million international debut. ## Godzilla vs. Kong, which opened day and date on HBO Max in 2021, minted $48 million over the 5-day domestic opening weekend. The upcoming movie will be the third biggest opener for the Monsterverse (if current projection holds) after 2014's Godzilla ($93.1M) and 2017's Kong: Skull Island ($61M). ## The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen in key roles. Mumbai, March 26 - Universal Pictures' animated martial arts comedy film Kung Fu Panda 4 has emerged as a success story at the Indian box office with a gross collection of over 30 crores through the second weekend. ## The fourth instalment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) has also become the fourth highest-grossing animated Hollywood film in India as far as the net collection is concerned. The movie scored approximately 26 crores net (31 crores gross or $3.75 million) in 11 days. ## Kung Fu Panda 4 needs another 6 crores net to beat its predecessor, Kung Fu Panda 3 (32 crores net) to become the third biggest Hollywood animated movie in India. The Lion King is currently the biggest grosser with around 158 crores net collection, followed by Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which scored 44 crores net. ## Made on a budget of $85 million, the latest instalment is having an excellent run globally, nearing the $300 million mark. Box Office: Dune Franchise Crosses $1 Billion Worldwide Gross

Los Angeles, March 26 - Director Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic Dune film series has crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The second of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert is currently playing in theatres, nearing $600 million globally. ## The first film was released in 2021 and grossed $435 million worldwide, including $109 million domestically (North America) despite opening day and date on HBO Max. The highly-anticipated sequel hit big screens on March 1st this year and stormed the box office. ## Starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, Dune 2 scored the biggest opening of 2024 and currently stands at $575 million worldwide, including $233 million domestically. Combined with the first film, the total worldwide gross of the franchise is around $1.01 billion (8425 crores). ## Out of the $1 billion worldwide gross collection of the franchise, the domestic box office has generated $342 million while the international gross is $667+ million so far. Mumbai, March 22 - Dharma Productions' action thriller Yodha couldn't put up much of a fight at the box office with a low first-week collection. The movie stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna in the leading roles. ## Directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, Yodha minted approximately 25 crores net in the first week, making it the first lowest opening week total for a Sidharth Malhotra-starrer as well as one of the lowest for Disha and Raashii. ## The movie's opening was underwhelming and despite a decent jump over the weekend, the movie couldn't hold the ground during the weekdays. It followed an absurd promotional campaign which couldn't help it generate enough buzz, resulting in a poor show at the box office. ## There is not much gas left in the film to carry and the new releases, despite not being driven by star power, will make its life further harder at the box office. Mumbai, March 22 - Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural thriller Shaitaan has had a very good second week at the domestic box office, dropping just around 55% from the opening frame and also going past the 100 crores net mark. ## Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan scored approximately 34.50 crores net in the second week, pushing the total collection to over 114+ crores in 14 days. The movie is currently the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 and is looking to finish over 150 crores in India net. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has so far minted an estimated 30 crores as worldwide total crossed 165 crores gross. The announcement came out of the blue which led to speculations that the actor's The Bull with producer Karan Johar and director Vishnuvardhaan, is shelved. ## The official announcement of The Bull hasn't been made yet but it was supposed to be Salman's immediate next. It has so far grossed an estimated 99.50 crores, including 87 crores in India and 12.50 crores overseas in 27 days. ## Article 370 is the 4th Bollywood movie of 2024, after Fighter, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Shaitaan to cross the milestone of 100 crores worldwide gross. Mumbai, March 20 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's aerial action thriller Fighter has almost completed its box office journey, and it is currently the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with over 350 crores gross. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie was released during the Republic Day weekend and scored approximately 118.50 crores net over the 4-day weekend. The movie dropped a bit heavily on its first Monday despite super-positive reviews and this posed a threat as far as the film's lifetime collection was concerned at that time. ## However, staying true to its title, Fighter fought back and managed to rebound with solid consistency over the next couple of weeks. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. While some of the films are already in the filming stage, some of them will start rolling soon and will premiere on Prime Video after completing their theatrical journey. ## Here are all the Indian movies coming to Prime Video after their theatrical release - ## Housefull 5 - The fifth instalment in the popular comedy franchise, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, HF5 is scheduled to hit big screens on June 6, 2025. ## Chandu Champion - Actor Kartik Aaryan teamed up with director Kabir Khan for this inspirational sports drama, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on June 14, 2024. ## Singham 3 - Director Rohit Shetty aims to make a solid comeback at the box office with the third instalment of the cop action drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the title role. Also featuring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor, Singham Again is slated to hit big screens in August 2024. ## Ashwatthama - Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment came up with the big announcement of the day, confirming the magnum opus with Shahid Kapoor in the title role. It will be directed by Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah, and it will be released in 2025. ## Kantara: Chapter 1 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's period action thriller film is a prequel to his mega-blockbuster film Kantara. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and it will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Hari Hara Veera Mallu - Director Krish Jagarlamudi's period action adventure film starring Pawan Kalyan has been in production for a long time. Produced by Mega Surya Production, the film also stars Nidhi Agarwal, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. ## Stree 2 - The hugely-awaited sequel to 2018's horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khuranna will be hitting cinemas this August. It is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## Ikkis - A biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC, the most highly decorated hero of the 1971 War, the movie stars Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra, and Jaideep Ahlawat. It is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films. ## Ustaad Bhagat Singh - Director Harish Shankar reunited with superstar Pawan Kalyan for this mass entertainer, also starring Sree Leela. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie will be released in 2025. ## Game Changer - The highly-awaited political action thriller, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, and director by Shankar, the movie has been in production for a long time. It is expected to hit big screens in the last quarter of 2024. ## Family Star - Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur come together for the first time to headline director Parasuram's family drama film. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie is scheduled to release on April 5, 2024. ## Bad Newz - Karan Johar's Dharma Production announced a comedy-drama starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk. Los Angeles, March 19 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sci-fi epic Dune: Part 2 has stormed past $500 million at the worldwide box office, surpassing the entire run of its predecessor which grossed $433 million, within three weeks. ## Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the blockbuster has so far grossed $210+ million (1740 crores) in North America and $290+ million (2410 crores) internationally for $500+ million (4150 crores) worldwide through the third Monday. It is currently the highest-grossing film of 2024 at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Domestically, the movie is having similar legs to that of Christopher Nolan's mega-hit Oppenhermier which grossed $329 million. Outside North America, China is the biggest market for Dune 2 with $36 million, followed by the UK with $33 million, Germany with $25 million, France with $25 million, and Australia with $16 million. ## India, the movie has had a decent response so far with a gross collection of close to 30 crores ($3.60 million in 18 days. It is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office.
