Kochi, May 21 - Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has his second blockbuster within two months as his latest comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil, co-starring Basil Joseph, has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office within a week. ## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil crossed 50 crores worldwide gross on its 6th day, becoming the 7th Malayalam movie of 2024 to achieve the feat. The domestic and overseas collection of the movie after 5 days stands at 25.45 crores and 24 crores, respectively for approximately 49.50 crores worldwide total. ## Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored 4.25 crore gross in India on the opening day upon its release on Thursday and showed a very good jump over the weekend to put up 21.75 crore India gross 4-day opening weekend. Kochi, May 20 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is heading for a big success after the excellent opening weekend at the worldwide box office, crossing 40 crores gross mark. ## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil witnessed a fantastic turnout at the domestic box office, scoring approximately 21.85 crores gross over a 4-day weekend. In Kerala, the movie minted 17.80 crores, which is one of the biggest opening weekends in the state. ## Karnataka is the second-best performing state for Guruvayoorambala Nadayil with an estimated 1.90 crores gross, followed by Tamil Nadu with around 90 lakh crore while 1.20 crores gross at the rest of the India box office. ## Overseas, the film has minted an estimated 21.75 crores gross in the opening weekend, pushing worldwide total to 43.60 crores. Chennai, May 20 - Actor and director Sundar C's horror-comedy Aranmanai 4 has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the worldwide box office, beating Sivakarthikeyan's sci-fi adventure Ayalaan. ## Starring Sundar C, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Raashii Khanna, the fourth instalment of the hit franchise has grossed approximately 62 crores at the domestic box office, including approximately 56.50 crores in Tamil and 5.50 crores in the Telugu version.## The overseas collection of Aranmanai 4 is an estimated 16 crores, pushing the worldwide cume total to 78 crores gross in 17 days. Ayalaan had grossed approximately 76.50 crores and is now the second highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. ## Aranmanai 4 is the highest-grossing film in the franchise, surpassing the lifetime collection of its predecessor which grossed an estimated 30-40 crores worldwide. Mumbai, May 20 - Disney's science fiction action film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has topped $200 million at the worldwide box office. Directed by Wes Ball, the film showed a solid hold in the domestic and overseas markets in the second weekend which pushed the collection past $200 million.## At the domestic box office, the stand-alone sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) crossed $100 million and currently stands at $101.2 million (845 crores) after the second weekend. Overseas, the movie showed a much better hold and added another $40.6 million to its tally for $136.3 million (1135 crores), pushing the worldwide total to $237.5 million (1980 crores). ## Made on a budget of $160 million, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is projected to finish its box office run at around $400 million worldwide, which would be less than War for the Planet of the Apes ($490 million) which was made on a budget of $150 million. ## Meanwhile, at the Indian box office, Kingdom has been decent with approximately 27.75 crores gross collection in 10 days. Kochi, May 18 - After taking the opening of 8 crores gross at the worldwide box office, Prithviraj Sukumarana and Basil Joseph's Guruvayoorambala Nadayil witnessed a solid jump on its second day in the domestic and overseas markets. ## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored approximately 9.50+ crores gross worldwide on its second day, pushing the total collection to close to 18 crores gross. In India, the movie has minted approximately 8.65 crores gross while overseas collection is an estimated 9 crores. ## In the home state Kerala, the comedy-drama has so far grossed approximately 7.40 crores, followed by 65 lakh in Karnataka, 30 lakh in Tamil Nadu and 30 lakh in the rest of the domestic market in two days. Sony Confirms 'Venom 3' To Be The Last Film In The Franchise

Mumbai, May 18 - Tom Hardy-led superhero film Venom - The Last Dance is set to bring curtains to the three-part franchise, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman confirmed to the Deadline. ## Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom 3 is intended to be the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and the sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). It will conclude the Venom franchise which Tom Rothman believes is going to be huge. ## Venom 3 was more or less confirmed to be the final movie in the franchise when the title was announced last year and the mixed success of Sony's Spider-Man Universe is also reportedly a major reason for the studio to move on from the SSU. ## Meanwhile, the first two Venom films were box office successes despite the mixed reviews. The first movie was a big success with over $850 million worldwide while the second film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage made over $500 million during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kochi, May 17 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored the fourth biggest opening at the worldwide box office for a Malayalam movie of 2024 with over 8 crores gross collection. ## The Vipin Das's directorial movie grossed approximately 8.15 crores, including approximately 4.40 crores gross in India and 3.75 crores gross overseas collection. It is the second biggest opening for Prithviraj Sukumaran's career, behind Aadujeevitham which was released earlier this year. ## The opening of 8.15 crores gross of Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is the 4th biggest for a Malayalam title of 2024, behind Aadujeevitham (16 crores), Malaikottai Vaaliban (12.15 crores), and Aavesham (10.50 crores). The two of the three aforementioned films (except Vaaliban) went on to gross over 150 crores worldwide and are one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters.## The word of mouth for Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is super positive and it is already coming into effect on the second with superb hold all over. Los Angeles, May 17 - Marvel Studios' highly-awaited Deadpool and Wolverine is set to be the longest film in the franchise upon its official entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As said before, it will be the first R-rated movie to be released by Disney. ## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, the third instalment clocked a runtime of 2 hours and 7 minutes, as per AMC Theaters, making it the first Deadpool movie to hit a runtime of over 2 hours. ## This would make the threequel the longest Deadpool movie in the franchise, beating 2016's Deadpool which clocked in at 108 minutes (1 hour, 48 minutes) and 2018's Deadpool 2 which ran for 119 minutes (1 hour, 59 minutes). ## Among the MCU films in the Multiverse Saga, Deadpool 3 is the 7th longest-running film, ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) and behind 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.## Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is intended to be the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). It has taken a bigger opening than Manjummel Boys which is currently the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## At the Kerala box office, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is estimated to open around 3.50 crores gross and it could go higher when the final collection comes. The movie was a huge box office success and Anirudh's BGM got high praise among the mass audiences. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Anirudh is set to reunite with SRK for his next film titled King. To be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, King will mark SRK's daughter Suhana Khan's big-screen debut. ## "King is a one of its kind action thriller, that will introduce a new flavour of action to the audience. Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh understand the importance of BGM for a film in this space and have roped in the best in business – Anirudh", says the report. ## King is produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. With not-so-encouraging reviews and audience reception, the viewership dipped in the second week.## In the week of May 6 - May 12, Heeramandi scored 4 million views, pushing its total viewership to 8.5 million views and 62.3 million viewing hours in 12 days. The show, however, continued to remain the second most-watched non-English series on Netflix for the second week in a row. ## The series is trending in the top 10 in 32 countries in its second week.
