MrBeast Surpasses T-Series To Become Most Subscribed YouTube Channel In The World

Mumbai, June 2 - American YouTuber James Stephen "Jimmy" Donaldson, famously known as MrBeast, has outnumbered India's music and production company T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTube channel in the world. ## MrBeast now has over 267 million subscribers on YouTube, against T-Series' 266+ million. The Bhushan Kumar-led company became the most subscribed channel after surpassing PewDiePie in 2019. MrBeast has made significant gains over the last year to dethrone the T-Series. ## At the start of 2023, MrBeast vowed to become the number 1 YouTube channel. It looked like a far cry at that moment as it had only 123 million subscribers, but 1 and a half years later, MrBeast is the new king of YouTube. PewDiePie is currently the 8th most subscribed channel with 111 million subscribers. ## MrBeast and T-Series are the only 2 accounts with over 200 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform. Mumbai, June 1 - After a good opening, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi sees a drop of around 30% on its second day which was with the regular prices. The opening day collection got a boost due to Cinema Lovers Day where ticket prices were Rs. 99/ticket. ## According to the early estimates, Mr and Mrs Mahi scored 4.50-4.75 crores net collection on its second day/first Saturday, showing a decent hold. The total collection is around 11.25+ crores net in 2 days with the first 3-day weekend heading today 17 crores net. ## The second-day collection of Mr and Mrs Mahi could have been its Friday collection or even lower without discounted prices so the hold is pretty good. A 20% jump on Sunday is expected and then, it is all about hold on Monday. ## A good hold on Monday might pave the way for the movie to reach 50 crores net mark which will be a good result for the film. Box Office Blockbuster 'Godzilla Minus One' Is Now Streaming In India

Mumbai, June 1 - The Japanese epic kaiju film written, directed, and with visual effects by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus One has finally started streaming in India, after shockingly not getting a theatrical release. ## Hailed as the finest Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus One was originally released in theatres last year, however, despite the huge demand, the makers couldn't find a way to release it in India despite attempting to release it via PVR Inox Pictures. ## While the big screen release of the film couldn't possible, Netflix has brought the movie to the Indian audience and it is now streaming in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil language. The early response is already pouring in and as expected, is highly positive. ## Godzilla Minus One, made on a budget of around $15 million, has been a huge box-office blockbuster with a worldwide gross collection of over $115 million. It is the highest-grossing Japanese Godzilla movie and is touted as the best across all 37 movies in the franchise. ## The movie is set in postwar Japan and follows a former kamikaze pilot suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after encountering a giant monster known as "Godzilla". Mumbai, May 31 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi has taken a good start at the domestic box office, thanks to the Cinema Lovers Day which boosted the footfalls due to lower ticket prices. ## The movie witnessed excellent occupancy throughout the day and scored an estimated 6.75-7.25 crores net collection on its opening day. It has comfortably beaten the opening day collection of Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370, the last Bollywood film to get cinema day benefit to score approximately 6 crores net. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi mainly targeted multiplex audiences and thanks to the discounted ticket prices, the movie brought its target audience to the theatres on its opening day. The initial word of mouth for the movie seems to be positive but the real test of it will be after the weekend. ## The competition also does not look threatening to the movie, however, the new release, Savi takes a decent opening of around 1.50 crores net. Mumbai, May 31 - Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies has shown incredible consistency at the box office on the lower levels since its digital release and has crossed the 20 crores net mark which once looked like a pipe dream. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies was made available on the digital platform after 8 weeks and since then it has minted over 2.50 crores net collection by showing an upward trend. The movie has so far minted approximately 20.58 crores net in 13 weeks. ## At the worldwide box office, the comedy-drama has grossed approximately 27 crores and can be called an average affair. Mumbai, May 30 - Rajkummar Rao's biographical drama Srikanth has emerged as a surprise winner of the year as the movie has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office amid low expectations. ## Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth grossed approximately 49.50 crores worldwide, including 47 crores domestically and an estimated 2.50 crores overseas in the first 20 days. It has topped the 50 crores gross mark on its third Thursday (21st day). ## Srikanth is only the second film of Rajkummar Rao to reach the mini milestone of 50 crores worldwide after Stree in a leading role. The actor played a supporting role in Bareilly Ki Barfi which grossed approximately 58.60 crores worldwide. ## Produced by T-Series and Chalk and Cheese Films, Srikanth has benefitted from the open run due to the lack of notable releases over the last few weeks. The movie, directed by Sharan Sharma, pairs Rajkummar and Janhvi for the first time and it seems this jodi will bring some good news at the box office. ## Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Mr and Mrs Mahi is set for a good opening at the box office, thanks to Cinema Lovers Day on which the ticket prices have been kept at just Rs. 99/ticket. The benefit of the discounted offer is already being seen in advance sales of the movie which is one of the best in the last two months. ## Mr & Mrs Mahi has sold over 150K tickets at the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) and with few hours still left for the release, the pre-sales are heading towards finishing around 200K tickets at national chains which is fantastic for a mid-range film. ## In a normal scenario, the pre-sales of Mr and Mrs Mahi could have guaranteed a double-digit opening but the fact that the discounted prices are the main reason behind it, the double-digit start at the domestic box office may not be a reality. ## Recently, Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370 released amid such a scenario and took the opening of approximately 6 crores net, and Mr and Mrs Mahi, which is having a better trend in the pre-sales, is very much in the race to start somewhere between 6-7 crores net which will be a good start, against what could have with regular prices. ## The movie is censored with a clean 'U' certificate with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 19 minutes. Deepika's co-star, Shah Rukh Khan takes the second spot. ## The first 10 most viewed Indian stars are the ones who have worked in the Hindi film industry for the major part of their career. Former Miss World and legendary actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is in the third spot, followed by Alia Bhatt and late Irrfan Khan, at number 4 and 5, respectively. ## The other stars in the top 10 are Aamir Khan at 6, the late Sushant Singh Rajput at 7, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay Kumar at 8-10, respectively. Kochi, May 29 - Megastar Mammootty has his second 50 crores grosser of the year after the action comedy Turbo hits the milestone on its 6th day. Earlier, the horror thriller Bramayugam topped 50 crores gross collection worldwide. ## Directed by Vysakh, Turbo grossed approximately 2.10 crores domestically on its 6th day which took its total India collection to approximately 26 crores. Overseas, the movie has minted an estimated 25 crores, for worldwide approximately 51 crores gross. ## Turbo is the 8th Malayalam movie of 2024 to reach 50 crores at the worldwide box office. For superstar Mammootty, it is his 4th movie to top the milestone after Bheeshma Parvam, Kannur Squad, and Bramayugam. Interestingly, all four films have been released in the last two years. ## In the movie, Turbo Jose, a Jeep driver from Idukki, gets in trouble and is forced to relocate to Chennai, where he gets entangled with Indhulekha and his friend Jerry. Chennai, May 29 - In October last year, Tamil star Suriya and director Sudha Kongara reunited after Soorarai Pottru for a real-life inspired film, tentatively titled Suriya 43. The movie was announced with solid casting, including Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma. ## The shooting of Suriya 43 was supposed to commence by early this year but there has been no development since the announcement. Now, according to a report by Only Kollywood, the movie has been put on hold indefinitely for some unknown reasons and is not happening anytime soon. ## It is said that Sudha Kongara is now working on her new project which is said to be another intense drama with actor Sivakarthikeyan. However, nothing is confirmed yet but Sivakarthikeyan has reportedly shown interest in the movie to do it. ## Meanwhile, Sudha Kongara is gearing up for the release of her Bollywood debut movie Sarfira, which is the remake of Soorarai Pottru. Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Radhika Madan in prominent roles and is scheduled to release in July this year. ## Suriya, on the other hand, has the pan-India movie Kanguva with director Siva. Mumbai, May 28 - Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies has become the most-watched Indian film of 2024 on Netflix by beating Hrithik Roshan's Fighter.## Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Rao added another 1.9 million views in its fifth week (May 20 - May 26) which took its total viewership to 15.7 million views in 31 days to become the most-watched Indian title of 2024 on Netflix after beating Fighter (14 million views). ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-fronted Shaitaan has also crossed Fighter and is now the second most-watched Indian movie of the year. The horror thriller added 1.8 million views in its 4th week to push its total viewership to 14.8 million in 24 days. ## Interestingly, the top 5 most-watched Indian films of 2024 on Netflix were first released in theatres before going to the streamer. As the makers have completed the J&K schedule of the movie, Shetty has shared a video expressing gratitude to the people of Kashmir.## The 1 minute and 25 seconds long video shows the transformation of J&K, which once was badly affected by terrorism, after the abrogation of Article 370.
