John Abraham's 'Vedaa' Release Date Unchanged After CBFC Clears The Film With 'U/A' Certificate

Mumbai, July 29 - A couple of days back, the makers of John Abraham-fronted upcoming action drama Vedaa issued a statement stating that the censorship of the movie was facing delay due to some reasons as the team putting all the efforts to make it ready for August 15 release.

While there is no official word on further development yet, the latest reports have confirmed that Vedaa has been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it has received a 'U/A' certificate without any cuts, as per Pinkvilla. The makers, however, have been advised to put a disclaimer at the beginning to avoid any confusion.



The movie deals with an important issue and the CBFC team reportedly could relate to what makers are trying to address through the film. With this, the path for the August 15 release has also been cleared and the makers will kickstart promotion with the trailer release this week. The Vedaa trailer too has been certified U/A by the CBFC with a run time of 3 minutes and 10 seconds.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, Vedaa depicts the bravery of one person challenging a draconian system in an uprising. It follows a young woman's fight for justice, guided by a man who becomes her ally.

The movie stars John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in the leading roles alongside Abhishek Banerjee, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Ashish Vidyarthi in key roles. As known to all, Vedaa will clash with Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein at the box office on August 15.
