'Kalki 2898 AD' Pre-Sales Off To Flying Start In The USA

Los Angeles, June 7 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD is heading for a guaranteed massive start at the USA box office after the excellent response in the pre-sales which opened on June 6. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the pre-sales rampage of the sci-fi epic has begun as it has already scored approximately $700K (5.85 crores) from 1391 shows in 337 locations, with 22729 tickets sold for premiers, according to Venky Box Office. The premiere will take place on June 26. ## The major theatres are reporting fast-filling status as the pre-sales are expected to grow over the next few days as more shows are opening gradually. Pawan Kalyan's 'OG' Packs Huge OTT Deal; Release Date Postponed

Hyderabad, June 7 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's gangster action thriller OG is one of the most anticipated films. It is directed by Sujeeth whose last directorial was Prabhas-fronted Pan India flick Saaho back in 2019. ## OG has been scheduled to be released in September this year, however, the latest reliable reports have confirmed that it will be postponed to 2025 as the shoot is still pending due to Pawan Kalyan's political commitments. ## Meanwhile, the makers have reportedly locked the post-theatrical streaming deal for OG. 'Kalki 2898 AD' Sets IMAX Release

Hyderabad, June 6 - Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has been confirmed to release in the IMAX North America and the UK. The movie is directed by Nag Ashwin and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. ## Kalki 2898 AD will be distributed by Prathyangira Cinemas in the USA and Canada. The studio confirmed that the movie will be released in IMAX format across the USA (Telugu version) and Canada (Hindi version) for premieres and one show on Day 1. ## The movie has also been confirmed to be released in India and worldwide on IMAX as the official confirmation regarding the same was made on June 11 by IMAX. Mumbai, June 6 - A sequel to Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's family comedy-drama JugJugg Jeeyo is reportedly in the early development at Dharma Productions with Raj Mehta is expected to return as the director. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, after teasing a sequel for a long time, Karan Johar and Raj Mehta are officially working on JugJugg Jeeyo, however, the report suggests the makers may change the title and it is more likely to be a spiritual sequel. ## It is said that Raj Mehta has begun writing the sequel with his team of writers and is looking to take it in on floors by the end of this year or early 2025. No cast has been attached to the sequel yet, but Varun is expected to return to headline it. ## Released in June 2022, Jug Jug Jeeyo starred Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor as two couples of different generations on the verge of divorce. In India, the movie has minted approximately 51.75 crores while the overseas collection is an estimated 33.25 crores so far, to become the 10th biggest Malayalam grosser ever. ## The movie has crossed RDX (82.75 crores) and will next beat Neru (85.60 crores) in the next couple of days and will be looking to top Bheeshma Parvam (88.20 crores) in the coming days to become the 8th biggest Mollywood title at the worldwide box office. ## In 2024, Malayalam cinema has been on the rise and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is one of the reasons for it. Mumbai, June 5 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's heist comedy Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon is turning out to be a big success on Netflix after emerging as one of the biggest box office successes of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, taking one of the best starts of the year for an Indian title. ## The movie's viewership shot up in the second week (May 27 - June 2) as it scored 8.9 million views. In 10 days so far, Crew has generated 14.3 million views and become the third most-watched Indian movie of the year on Netflix. By next week, it is expected to become the most-watched title by topping Laapataa Ladies.## Crew was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of May 27 - June 2. Kochi, June 3 - Actor Fahadh Faasil's action comedy Aavesham has completed its box office run with an excellent collection in India and worldwide despite missing a couple of milestones due to premature digital release.## Released on April 11, Aavesham scored the second-biggest opening week domestically for a Malayalam movie of 2024 with a collection of 35.45 crores gross, before showing an incredible hold in the second week for 29.10 crores, followed by another solid hold in the third with 21.70 crores gross. ## Aavesham was well on track to enter the 100 crores gross club in India but due to the early digital release after the 4th week, the collection dropped heavily in the following weeks which kept it under the 100 crores mark. Overall, the movie missed the 100 crore gross collection by just above 1 crore. ## Overseas, Jithu Madhavan's directorial has been one of the biggest hits with an estimated 56 crores gross collection, pushing the total worldwide to approximately 155 crores. Mumbai, June 2 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi has a good opening weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 17 crores net. ## The romantic sports drama witnessed a jump of around 20% on Sunday for an estimated 5.25-5.75 crores net collection, pushing the total collection to around 17 crores in the first 3-day weekend which is on the expected lines. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi got a cinema day boost on its opening day so the weekend collection is probably around 3 crores higher than what it could have been with the regular prices. The positive word of mouth also played its part as the movie held decently on Saturday before seeing a good jump on Sunday. ## The overall fate of the movie will be determined by how it performs during weekdays and for consistent collection, Mr and Mrs Mahi will need to hold well on Sunday with a collection of 2-2.50 crores net.
