Mumbai, August 1 - Dharma Production's comedy-drama Bad Newz has surpassed 100 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. The movie is co-produced by Amazon Prime Video and Leo Media Collective and is directed by Anand Tiwari. ## The movie, which stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the leading roles, topped 100 crores worldwide on its 13th day. The movie has grossed approximately 66.50 crores (55.85 crores net) in India and an estimated 34 crores gross overseas for 100+ crores worldwide cume.## With its entry into the 100 crores worldwide gross club, Bad Newz has become the 13th Bollywood movie and the 8th Hindi title of 2024 to achieve the feat. For Vicky Kaushal, it is his 3rd 100 crores gross out of the last 4 films in the leading roles, after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Sam Bahadur. ## In between the aforementioned hits, Vicky Kaushal was also a part of Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Dunki which grossed over 400 crores worldwide. The release date of this sci-fi survival action thriller show was announced with a video. ## Season 1 of Squid Game, which is the most-watched Netflix title ever (in any category) with 265.2 million views (2.20 billion viewing hours), introduced fans to the K-drama's titular deadly game, which forces citizens to gamble with their lives. Mumbai, July 31 - Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's Deadpool and Wolverine has stormed past $500 million at the worldwide box office in just 7 days since its international debut on July 24, making it the fastest movie of 2024 to reach the milestone.## The first R-rated MCU blockbuster has grossed $261+ million (2185 crores) at the domestic (North America) box office through Tuesday (5 days) while the overseas collection is $284.80 million (2380 crores), for $545.80+ million (4565+ crores) at the worldwide box office.## Deadpool & Wolverine is the 6th film of the year to top $500 million globally, and with its Tuesday collection, it has surpassed Kung Fu Panda 4's $545.80 million to become the 5th biggest grosser of the year. It has also beaten Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ($567.60 million) on Wednesday as the 4th biggest grosser of 2024.## China is the biggest international market for the movie with $30.5 million, followed by the UK with $27.70 million, and Mexico with $23.4 million through Tuesday. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. Mumbai, July 29 - A couple of days back, the makers of John Abraham-fronted upcoming action drama Vedaa issued a statement stating that the censorship of the movie was facing delay due to some reasons as the team putting all the efforts to make it ready for August 15 release.## While there is no official word on further development yet, the latest reports have confirmed that Vedaa has been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it has received a 'U/A' certificate without any cuts, as per Pinkvilla. The makers, however, have been advised to put a disclaimer at the beginning to avoid any confusion. ## The movie deals with an important issue and the CBFC team reportedly could relate to what makers are trying to address through the film. With this, the path for the August 15 release has also been cleared and the makers will kickstart promotion with the trailer release this week. Chennai, July 29 - Tamil star Dhanush scored a much deserving success with his latest action thriller Raayan after the excellent 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The A-rated blockbuster scored close to 70 crores gross collection, already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year.## Directed and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan witnessed a continued jump over the weekend at the domestic box office, which is not a regular case for South Indian films. With approximately 49 crores gross collection, the movie scored the second biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024, behind only Indian 2. ## In Tamil Nadu, Raayan minted approximately 34 crores gross, followed by approximately 5.50+ crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telengana). The rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 10 crores gross collection. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has had a superb weekend with approximately 22 crores gross. This led to approximately 71+ crores worldwide cume, making it the 6th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024. The worldwide opening weekend of Raayan has almost wiped out Dhanush's last film, Captain Miller's entire run of 75 crores gross. ## Raayan will cross Captain Miller and Ayaalan (76.60 crores gross approx.) by the first Monday or Tuesday to become the 4th highest-grossing Tamil film of the year.
