'Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness' First Day Pre-Sales Is The Highest In 2022

Los Angeles, April 8 - Marvel Studios' upcoming film "Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness" is all set to open big at the domestic box office next month. The advance booking for the same went on sale on April 6 in North America, and it got the biggest response than any other movie of 2022 in the first 24-hours.

As per Deadline, the ticketing website Fandango has sold more tickets in the first 24-hours than any other movie of 2022 so far. In fact, it is the best since "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (which went on sale on Nov. 29, 2021), however, it couldn't beat Tom Holland's film that debuted with an all-time second-best domestic opening with $260 million.



For a 2022 title, Warner Bros.' "The Batman" has had the biggest opening so far with $134 million at the North American box office. The 2 hours 6 minutes long "Doctor Stange" sequel is easily one of the most anticipated Hollywood titles of the year and it is set to take the biggest opening of the year so far.

"The epic first day of presales for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proves fans are beyond excited to experience all the thrills, chills and blockbuster surprises Marvel Studios is known to deliver", said Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis in a statement (via Deadline).

Directed by Sam Raimi, "Doctor Strange 2" is set after the events of "WandaVision", and "Spider-Man: No Way Home". In the film, Strange and his allies travel into the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary. The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda/Scarlet Witch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.

It will be released on May 6 in North America, and in India, it will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages on the same date.
