Mumbai, April 27 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has topped 100 crores net collection at the Indian box office, becoming the first Hollywood movie of 2024 and the first ever in the MonsterVerse to achieve the feat. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial blockbuster has grossed over 120 crores (100+ crores net) at the Indian box office in 29 days. In its 4th week, the movie grossed around 8 crores, dropping around 38% despite the arrival of the new Indian releases. ## India has been one of the biggest overseas markets for Godzilla x Kong. The movie was released on March 29 and scored 69+ crores gross collection in the first week. It held strongly in the second with to gross of approximately 29.50 crores (-57.60%), followed by 13 crores (-56%) in the third week. ## The sequel has performed well in the Southern Indian states, especially in Tamil Nadu. It is among the highest-grossing Hollywood films in the state. ## At the worldwide box office, Godzilla x Kong has crossed $500 million, including $175 million (1450+ crores) domestically (North America). Mumbai, April 24 - Zack Snyder's epic space opera film Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver was the number one movie worldwide on Netflix's top 10 chart, but it failed to match the opening weekend numbers of its predecessor Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire which was released in December last year. ## Released on April 19, Rebel Moon 2 scored 44.2 million viewing hours from 21.4 million views in its first 3-day weekend. It generated 10.5% lower viewership than the first movie which scored 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views in its opening weekend.## Just like the first part, the sequel also opened to terrible critics' reviews while audience reception was also not encouraging which restricted it to below the first movie. The first movie managed to stay in Netflix's top 10 viewership chart for 5 weeks (including April 15 - April 21, 2024) during which it scored 78.4 million full views. ## The film takes place on the moon of Veldt where Kora and the crew of warriors venture to help the farmers to defend and fight for their home against the Motherworld. Pictures/Legendary Pictures's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has topped 100 crores gross at the Indian box office, becoming the first for Hollywood in 2024 and very first in the MosterVerse franchise. ## Directed by Adam Wingard, the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel has grossed an estimated 102 crores in 16 days (including the 3rd Saturday). It is the first film in the Godzilla franchise to cross 100 crores gross, beating its predecessor which grossed around 60 crores in 2021. ## Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Godzilla x Kong is the 8th Hollywood film to enter this prestigious box office club, after Avatar 2, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Stranger 2, Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible 7, Fast X, and Thor: Love and Thunder. ## The film has performed exceptionally well in the non-Hindi market with more than 50% collection coming from South Indian states. Pictures' biggest trailer launch in recent years, perfectly setting the stage for its big theatrical debut in October 2024, per Variety.## Among the trailers launched in 2024, the Joker sequel is behind only Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine, which was launched during Super Bowl Sunday with massive 365 million views. Mumbai, April 8 - The Monsters are going berserk as Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is nearing the 100 crores gross mark at the Indian box office which will make it the first Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat. ## The Adam Wingard's directorial sequel to his Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), has grossed an estimated 86.75 crores gross ($10.4 million) in India. It is the highest-grossing MonsterVerse film in India, beating its predecessor which grossed around 70 crores back in 2021. ## Godzilla x Kong will be topping 100 crores gross in India during its third weekend. The second highest-grossing Hollywood movie of the year is Kung Fu Panda 4 which has grossed around 40 crores so far. Overall, The New Empire is the 21st highest-grossing Hollywood film in India. ## At the worldwide box office, the sequel has topped $350 million and is currently at $361 million (3010 crores), including $135 million (1125 crores) at the domestic (North America) box office and $226 million (1885 crores) overseas. Los Angeles, April 5 - Paul Atreides will be returning to conquer the galaxy as the threequel to Warner Bros. mega hit Dune franchise is officially confirmed, according to Variety.## Following the massive success of Dune: Part 2, which has already grossed over $625 million globally and still going strong, Warner Bros. has tapped director Denis Villeneuve to develop the third part which will continue the story of Paul Atreides. ## There is no timeline fixed yet for when Dune Messiah/Dune 3 will go on floors. Variety has also revealed that Villeneuve is in discussion to reunite with Legendary for an adaptation of Annie Jacobsen's Pulitzer Prize finalist "Nuclear War: A Scenario".## Nuclear War: A Scenario explores a ticking-clock scenario about what would happen in the event of a nuclear war, based on dozens of exclusive new interviews with military and civilian experts who built the weapons and have been privy to the response plans and have been responsible for those decisions should they have needed to be made.## It is not yet confirmed which film will be made first but the studio reportedly intends to make Dune 3 before its Nuclear War: A Scenario movie with the filmmaker.## Stay tuned...

Dune: Part 2. ## The sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) scored mighty an estimated $194 million (1620 crores) on global opening weekend, the second biggest ever for MonsterVerse just behind 2014's Godzilla ($196M). It easily beats Dune 2 which scored ($182.5M) earlier this month to score the biggest opening weekend of 2024. ## Godzilla x Kong roared to $80 million (670 crores) opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office, the second biggest in 2024 behind Dune 2's $82.5 million. Overseas, the movie minted a huge $114 million (950 crores) which is the biggest in MonsterVerse, beating Godzilla's $103 million. ## Outside the domestic market, the blockbuster sequel grossed a strong $44 million in China which is the biggest international contributor to the film, followed by Mexico ($12.8M), and India was the third best with a huge $5.5 million (46 crores). The movie is riding on the mostly positive reviews from critics. ## Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise, Godzilla x Kong is projected to earn $135+ million at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend, according to Deadline. ## At the domestic (North America) box office, the highly-awaited sequel is expected to gross in the range of $50 million on opening weekend while the movie is projected to earn around $85 million internationally over 63 markets. Some projections are indicating a $100+ million international debut. ## Godzilla vs. Kong, which opened day and date on HBO Max in 2021, minted $48 million over the 5-day domestic opening weekend. The upcoming movie will be the third biggest opener for the Monsterverse (if current projection holds) after 2014's Godzilla ($93.1M) and 2017's Kong: Skull Island ($61M). ## The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen in key roles. Mumbai, March 26 - Universal Pictures' animated martial arts comedy film Kung Fu Panda 4 has emerged as a success story at the Indian box office with a gross collection of over 30 crores through the second weekend. ## The fourth instalment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) has also become the fourth highest-grossing animated Hollywood film in India as far as the net collection is concerned. The movie scored approximately 26 crores net (31 crores gross or $3.75 million) in 11 days. ## Kung Fu Panda 4 needs another 6 crores net to beat its predecessor, Kung Fu Panda 3 (32 crores net) to become the third biggest Hollywood animated movie in India. Los Angeles, March 26 - Director Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic Dune film series has crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The second of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert is currently playing in theatres, nearing $600 million globally. ## The first film was released in 2021 and grossed $435 million worldwide, including $109 million domestically (North America) despite opening day and date on HBO Max. The highly-anticipated sequel hit big screens on March 1st this year and stormed the box office. ## Starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, Dune 2 scored the biggest opening of 2024 and currently stands at $575 million worldwide, including $233 million domestically. Combined with the first film, the total worldwide gross of the franchise is around $1.01 billion (8425 crores). ## Out of the $1 billion worldwide gross collection of the franchise, the domestic box office has generated $342 million while the international gross is $667+ million so far. Los Angeles, March 19 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' sci-fi epic Dune: Part 2 has stormed past $500 million at the worldwide box office, surpassing the entire run of its predecessor which grossed $433 million, within three weeks. ## Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the blockbuster has so far grossed $210+ million (1740 crores) in North America and $290+ million (2410 crores) internationally for $500+ million (4150 crores) worldwide through the third Monday. It is currently the highest-grossing film of 2024 at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## Domestically, the movie is having similar legs to that of Christopher Nolan's mega-hit Oppenhermier which grossed $329 million. Outside North America, China is the biggest market for Dune 2 with $36 million, followed by the UK with $33 million, Germany with $25 million, France with $25 million, and Australia with $16 million. ## India, the movie has had a decent response so far with a gross collection of close to 30 crores ($3.60 million in 18 days. It is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. Los Angeles, March 13 - Robert Pattinson-led The Batman Part II release date has been postponed by a year and it will now be debuting in theatres in 2026. ## The sequel to director Matt Reeves' superhero movie The Batman was first announced during CinemaCon in April 2022 and in January 2023, the movie was officially scheduled for October 2025 release and has now been pushed back to October 2, 2026. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the delay in the film was caused by the writers' strike last year. It is said that the script of the sequel is far from being ready and the movie will only go on floors by early 2025. ## The Batman, which is a reboot of the Batman film franchise, was released in March 2022 and enjoyed a very good run at the box office.
