Netflix Top 10: Zack Snyder's 'Rebel Moon - Part 2' Opens Lower Than The First Part

Mumbai, April 24 - Zack Snyder's epic space opera film Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver was the number one movie worldwide on Netflix's top 10 chart, but it failed to match the opening weekend numbers of its predecessor Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire which was released in December last year.

Released on April 19, Rebel Moon 2 scored 44.2 million viewing hours from 21.4 million views in its first 3-day weekend. It generated 10.5% lower viewership than the first movie which scored 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views in its opening weekend.



Just like the first part, the sequel also opened to terrible critics' reviews while audience reception was also not encouraging which restricted it to below the first movie. The first movie managed to stay in Netflix's top 10 viewership chart for 5 weeks (including April 15 - April 21, 2024) during which it scored 78.4 million full views.

The film takes place on the moon of Veldt where Kora and the crew of warriors venture to help the farmers to defend and fight for their home against the Motherworld. It stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, and Doona Bae, among others in key roles.
