Thalapathy Vijay's 'The GOAT' Trailer Score 34+ Million Views In The First 24-Hours

Chennai, August 18 - The trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) scored 34+ million views in the first 24 hours on YouTube, emerging one of the most viewed South Indian movie trailers. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the GOAT trailer scored 29.25+ million views in the original Tamil version, making it the second most-viewed Tamil trailer of all time in the first 24 hours, behind only Leo (32 million), also headlined by Vijay.## Overall, it is the 4th most-viewed trailer in a single South Indian language, after Guntur Kaaram (37.60 million), Salaar Part 1 (32.50 million), and Leo. Apart from the Tamil version, the GOAT trailer scored 3.25 million views in Hindi and 2.30 million views in the Telugu version, for 34.75+ million overall views during the said period. ## Produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT star Vijay in a dual role as a father and son. Chennai, July 29 - Tamil star Dhanush scored a much deserving success with his latest action thriller Raayan after the excellent 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The A-rated blockbuster scored close to 70 crores gross collection, already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year.## Directed and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan witnessed a continued jump over the weekend at the domestic box office, which is not a regular case for South Indian films. Chennai, July 27 - Tamil action thriller Raayan has had an excellent start at the domestic box office with approximately 15.75 crores gross collection. It is now the biggest opening for actor Dhanush, beating his previous high of approximately 12 crore gross with Karnan in 2021. ## At the overseas box office, the A-rated title scored approximately 7.25 crores gross, for approximately 23 crores worldwide on opening day, again the biggest for the actor beating Captain Miller which scored approximately 14 crores gross.## The domestic box office of 15.75 crores of Raayan includes approximately 10.60 crores in Tamil Nadu which is again the biggest for the actor in the state. Prashanth Neel To Collaborate With Ajith Kumar For Two Back-To-Back Films: Report

Chennai, July 24 - Amid the speculations of which film, between Prabhas-fronted Salaar 2 and Jr. NTR-starrer Dragon (NTR 31) director Prashanth Neel will start next, a new report has emerged that the blockbuster filmmaker is already in talks with Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar for not one but two movies. ## Earlier this year, it was reported that Neel would be collaborating with Ajith Kumar for a standalone movie, and now, according to the report by DT Next, the duo may also do one more film in Prashanth Cinematic Universe which could pave the way for Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 3.## "Ajith and Prashanth had a meeting during the Vidaa Muyarchi schedule break last month. Prashanth has asked over three years of Ajith's time. Their first collaboration, which could be AK 64, will be a standalone project. Chennai, July 23 - Director Karthik Subbaraj teamed up with Tamil star Suriya for an action drama film and on the occasion of the actor's 49th birthday, the filmmaker treated the fans with the first look glimpse into the character of Suriya from the film, tentatively called Suriya 44. ## The glimpse video shared on social media platforms, opens with a beautiful view with the words, "Somewhere in the sea..." before the video takes us to 'Royal Estate', presumably Suriya's den in the film where his gang members stand at the entrance... "A love, a laughter, a war, awaits for you" as Suriya enters the scene.## The video shows Suriya sporting a rugged look, with a cigarette in his hand and a gun pointed at the camera. The 1 minute and 37 seconds of the promo, with BGM by Santhosh Narayan, promises a mass entertainer. Sivakarthikeyan's 'Amaran' Locks Release Date

Chennai, July 17 - Actor Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited biographical war action film Amaran, based on the book series, India's Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, has been confirmed to hit the big screens on October 31, 2024, in multiple Indian languages.## Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is the biopic of Major Mukund Varadarajan (played by Sivakarthikeyan), a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. Mukund Varadarajan was posthumously awarded Ashoka Chakra for his actions during a counterterrorism operation.## The movie is produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures Films India, and it also stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead alongside Bhuvan Arora, and Rahul Bose, among others.## Amaran will be released on the occasion of the Diwali festival on October 31 and will clash with multiple other films in different languages. After Box Office, Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' Debuts On Netflix With Strong 3.2 Million Views

Chennai, July 17 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has had a strong debut on Netflix after the excellent box office performance which saw it becoming the first Tamil movie of 2024 to top 100 crores gross worldwide. ## The film, directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, started streaming on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after its theatrical release on June 14. In its opening weekend (July 12 - July 14), Maharaja scored a strong 3.2 million views and was the 4th most-watched non-English movie on Netflix during the same week.## Maharaja had one of the biggest opening weekends for an Indian movie of 2024 on the streamer, beating the likes of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2.9 million views) and Laapataa Ladies (2.2 million views), and on par with Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan (3.2 million views), among others.## The movie has been trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates. Box Office: 'Indian 2' Becomes Highest-Grossing Tamil Movie of 2024, Beating 'Maharaja' In 3 Days

Chennai, July 15 - Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2 topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend and has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, beating Vijay Sethupathi's actioner Maharaja in just three 3 days.## Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 witnessed a continuous drop over the weekend due to mixed to negative word of mouth, but did enough to cross 100 crores worldwide. In India, the movie grossed an estimated 69+ crores gross and overseas, it minted an estimated 40 crores, for 109+ crores worldwide cume, beating Maharaja (105 crores gross approx.). ## Despite the 100+ crores opening weekend, Indian 2 somehow performed underwhelmingly as it was projected to score 100 crore weekend at the domestic box office alone. The movie's 69 crores domestic collection includes an estimated 35.50+ crores in Tamil Nadu and 17 crores in Telugu states.## Language-wise, the original Tamil version grossed an estimated 48.50+ crores, followed by 16+ crores in Telugu, and 4.50+ crores collection in Hindi. The not-so-encouraging word of mouth did dent the movie's business in all areas.## Indian 2 will need to perform well during the weekdays to emerge a success. Box Office: Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' Scored Biggest Tamil Opening of 2024

Chennai, July 14 - Veteran Kamal Haasan's vigilante action thriller Indian 2, directed by S. Shankar, scored the biggest opening of 2024 for a Tamil movie at the domestic and worldwide box office by a long margin. ## The sequel to the 1996 film Indian, Indian 2 grossed an estimated 30.25 crores in India and 26 crores overseas for 56.25 crores worldwide on opening day. It has beaten Dhanush's Captain Miller, which scored approximately 14 crores on its opening day, to become the biggest Tamil opener of the year.## With the opening day collection, Indian 2 became the 6th highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 at the domestic as well as worldwide box office, and with the second-day box office figures, it has become the third biggest grosser after Maharaja (104 crores gross approx.) and Aranmanai 4 (99 crores gross approx.) worldwide. ## Indian 2 stars Kamal Haasan, reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption, leading a massive ensemble which also includes Siddharth, S. Chennai, July 13 - Veteran actor Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has had a good opening at the worldwide box office with 56+ crores gross collection which includes 30+ crores from the domestic market, making it the second biggest start for an Indian movie of 2024. ## Directed by Shankar, Indian 2, however, got criticism for its lengthy runtime which is 3 hours and upon feedback from audiences, the makers have now decided to trim 20 minutes to make it 2 hours and 40 minutes film.
