Box Office: Dhanush's 'Raayan' Surpasses 100 Crore Worldwide Gross; Becomes 3rd Tamil Movie of 2024 To Do So

Chennai, August 3 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan is turning out to be a huge box-office success, crossing 100 crores gross worldwide in just 8 days. It has become only the third Tamil movie of 2024 to hit the box office century after Indian 2 and Maharaja.

Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan grossed approximately 3.50 crores domestically on its second Friday (8th day), taking its total domestic cume to approximately 72.75 crores gross. The movie nears 50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu after 8 days and will cross this figure on Saturday.



At the overseas box office, the A-rated action blockbuster has minted an estimated 32+ crores gross, taking the worldwide cume to over 100 crores mark at 105 crores approx. in just 8 days. Raayan is Dhanush's third 100 crore worldwide grosser after Thiruchitrambalam and Vaathi.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Raayan will become Dhanush's highest-grossing movie by the second Sunday by crossing Vaathi (116+ crores worldwide gross) and Thiruchitrambalam (117 crores gross). All three 100 crores grossers for the actor have come in the last 2 years.

The movie stars Dhanush in the titular role, leading an ensemble cast which includes S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan.
