Box Office: 'Vettaiyan' Tops 100 Crore Worldwide Gross After Strong Second Day

Chennai, October 12 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office after the super strong second day. The movie had a mid-week release on Thursday and despite that, it took a solid opening of 64 crores globally. ## On its second day/first Friday, Vettaiyan dropped just around 25% at the domestic box office and grossed approximately 27.80 crores. Additionally, the movie minted approximately 14 crores gross collection internationally, making it a 42 crores gross second day worldwide. ## The rock-solid collection on Friday pushed the total to past 100 crores gross at approximately 105.80 crores, including 64.80 crores gross in India and 41 crores overseas. With this, it has become the 25th Indian movie and 5th Tamil movie of 2024 to achieve the feat. ## Vettaiyan is the third movie of superstar Rajinikanth to top 100 crores worldwide gross collection post the Covid-19 pandemic after Annaatthe (2021) and Jailer (2023). Chennai, October 11 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan is heading for a superb first weekend after a very good hold on its second day at the domestic box office. The movie had a very good start with 37 crores gross collection domestically. ## On its second day/first Friday, the movie is holding its ground firmly, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The GOAT was released on September 5, on Thursday and scored the second biggest opening ever for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection. Ajith Kumar's 'Vidaa Muyarchi' To Release In December 2024

Chennai, September 16 - Tamil star Ajith Kumar has two films in the pipeline in the form of action thriller Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and an action comedy Good Bad Ugly with director Adhik Ravichandran. ## As already announced, Good Bad Ugly is eyeing the Pongal 2025 release, however, there might be some changes regarding the same. During the SIIMA awards ceremony, actor Arjun Sarja shared that Vidaa Muyarchi will be released in December 2024.## Arjun, who is playing a prominent role in this Lyca Productions venture, said that he has completed the climax fight scene and the makers will be releasing the film in 2-3 months around December this year. Earlier, the movie was supposed to hit the big screen during Diwali weekend. ## With Vidaa Muyarchi now eyeing a December release, Good Bad Ugly will certainly be moved back from the Pongal release. There is already a buzz in the industry that Good Bad Ugly will arrive during the Summer of 2025. The official confirmation, however, is yet to be made. ## Vidaamurarchi is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. Box Office: 'The GOAT' Heads To Become Third Movie To Enter 200 Crore Club In Tamil Nadu

Chennai, September 15 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time is having a fantastic second weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office, overcoming the mixed reviews like a proper well-received blockbuster.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT grossed approximately 143.50 crores in Tamil Nadu in its extended first week (8 days) and started the second weekend with a jump on the second Friday, crossing the 150 crores gross mark in the state.## Since there is no competition in the home market, The GOAT witnessed another excellent jump of almost 100% on the second Saturday to score approximately 13.75 crores gross collection, which took its total collection to 164+ crores in the state which is the fifth highest of all time. ## The action blockbuster is heading towards entering the 200 crores gross club in Tamil Nadu as it will be around 178+ crores by the end of the second weekend. Thalapathy 69: Thalapathy Vijay's Next Film's Details Announced With Release Date

Chennai, September 14 - Thalapathy Vijay, arguably the biggest Tamil star, has officially announced his 69th film which is said to be his final movie before his political entry under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.## Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film will be directed by H. Vinoth, marking his maiden collaboration with the superstar. The leading Kannada production house, KVN Productions will produce T69 and it will be the studio's maiden Tamil production. ## Sensational Anirudh Ravichander is on board to compose the music of T69 which has been confirmed to hit the big screens in October 2025. Box Office: 'The Greatest of All Time' Scored Excellent First Week Worldwide

Chennai, September 13 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had an excellent extended first week at the worldwide box office with approximately 340 crores gross collection. This includes 209 crores in India and 131 crores overseas. ## The GOAT performed opposite in the home state, Tamil Nadu and other domestic areas. In TN, the movie minted approximately 143.50 crores gross while the rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 65.70 crores, including 24.75 crores in Karnataka where the movie performed second best after TN. ## At the overseas box office, the Venkat Prabhu's directorial blockbuster was excellent throughout the first week and earned approximately 131 crores, for a worldwide cume of 340 crores gross in 8 days. The GOAT will outgross the final collection of Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 (344 crores gross) at the end of its 9th day to become the 6th biggest Tamil grosser of all time. ## As reported earlier, The GOAT is the second movie of Thalapathy Vijay to cross 300 crores worldwide gross and is currently the second biggest grosser of the actor after Leo (606 crores) which is the second highest-grossing Tamil title, behind only 2.0 (744 crores gross). ## The GOAT is expected to finish as the 5th biggest Tamil grosser by crossing Kamal Haasan's Vikram (414 crores gross). Chennai, September 10 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has crossed 300 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the second movie of the actor to achieve the feat after last year's Leo. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT topped 300 crores worldwide gross after scoring approximately 22 crores gross on its 5th day for around 303 crores. With this, it has outgrossed the lifetime total of Bigil (295 crores) and Varisu (297.50 crores) to become Thalapathy Vijay's second-biggest grosser. ## The GOAT is performing very well at the home state, Tamil Nadu where it has so far grossed approximately 120 crores in 5 days. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time sees a drop of around 60% on its first Monday, which is a working day from Sunday, which was expected due to mixed word of mouth and huge first-weekend collection. ## The drop could have been even bigger if not for the home state, Tamil Nadu where the movie remained solid by holding close to 50% collection on Sunday. According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score in the range of 13-14 crores gross collection on its 5th day/first Monday in Tamil Nadu. ## The total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is around 120 crores in 5 days.
