Thalapathy Vijay's 'GOAT' Cracks Record-Breaking Deal For Kerala Theatrical Rights
Kochi, July 24 - Thalapathy Vijay's mega-stardom has once again shaken Kerala's trade with the record-breaking theatrical deal for his upcoming movie The Greatest of All-Time. Gokulam Movies, the leading distribution studio in Kerala has grabbed theatrical rights of the movie.
According to the Kerala film industry tracker AB George, GOAT Kerala theatrical rights have been sold for 17 crore which is a record deal for a non-Malayalam movie. The previous record also belonged to Vijay when his Leo was sold for 16 crores and it was also bought by Gokulam Movies.
Thalapathy Vijay is arguably the biggest non-Malayalam superstar in Kerala with an incredible box office pull. Leo, which was released in October last year, did wonders at the Kerala box office by grossing approximately 60 crores which is a record for a Tamil title in the state.
Talking about GOAT, it is a science fiction action film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. The movie stars Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles, leading an ensemble cast which includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu, among others.
The film is scheduled to be released on September 5, 2024, in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
