Akshay Kumar All Set To Reunite With Priyadarshan After A Decade For A Comedy Film

Mumbai, July 4, 2021: Yesterday on July 3, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and renowned director Priyadarshan met on the set of Akshay's upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan. The duo even shared a picture of themselves having a laugh discussing something. While they didn't reveal why they met, their fans speculated that their meeting is going to bring them together for the first time since Khatta Meetha (2010). ## Well, those speculations are really coming true as the iconic actor-director duo is reuniting after a decade for a comedy film with emotions. Akshay and Priyadarshan have previously collaborated and gave superhit films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhagam Bhaag, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha. ## According to reports, the movie was supposed to begin this year, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, it is now expected to go on floors early next year. The movie is said to have an out-and-out comedy film with emotions towards the climax. The director has reportadly locked the basic script, but to give it a final touch, he will continue to work on it until it started rolling out. ## Contrary to the reports of doing Hera Pheri 3 or remake of South film, the director reportadly confirmed that it is an original script which is being given the final touch. The movie is said to be produced by Akshay Kumar along with a top producer of the industry. ## Meanwhile, Priyadarshan is currently in Mumbai and gearing up for the release of his next Hindi film, Hungama 2 featuring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Pranitha Subhash, and Meezaan Jafry. The comic caper is gearing up for a digital premiere on Disney+Hotstar on July 23. Telangana Film Chamber Requests To Telugu Producers To Stop OTT Releases Until October

Hyderabad, July 3, 2021: Telangana film chamber of commerce has expressed concern over Telugu producers opting for the direct-to-digital release of their films amid the covid-19 pandemic. As per reports, one of the leading production houses of Telugu industry, Suresh Productions is reportadly considering its most-awaited films like Narappa, Virata Parvam, among others for direct OTT release. ## Raising concern over the latest development in the Telugu industry, the Telangana film chamber has requested the producers to stop the OTT release of their films until October. The film chamber is hopeful that theaters will be fully operational by October this year. The film chamber has warned them for a future course of action if producers continue to release their films on OTT. ## However, the chamber headed by Hon. Secretary Sunil Narang, said that "If the theaters do not open by October, you can consider OTT release". This decision has been taken keeping the larger interest of the entire Telugu Film industry, which has been hit hard by the covid-19 pandemic. ## The film chamber also appealed to the Andhra Pradesh Government to immediately make a decision about ticket rates. "The survival of theaters is at stake with such low rates. Theaters will close and many will lose employment". Having already made people his fan for his roles on the big screen, the young superstar will be hosting a visual-based quiz show in his tv debut. ## Produced by Banijay Asia and ITV Studios Global Entertainment B.V, the reality show will test contestants' knowledge and visual memory. With the help of three lifelines, contestants would have to correctly answer twelve visual-based questions to walk away with the grand prize money. ## Talking about his small screen debut, Ranveer Singh said in a statement, "In my journey as an artiste, the urge to experiment and explore has been constant. Mumbai, July 2, 2021: SS Rajamouli's Baahubali film series was so successful that it inspired streaming giant Netflix to make a prequel to Baahubali - The Beginning (2015). Titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning, the Telugu languages web series is based on Anand Neelakantan's 2017 and 2020 novels The Rise of Sivagami, Chaturanga, and Queen of Mahishmathi. ## Earlier, the series was being directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru, however, Netflix reportadly scrapped the project after 80 percent of the shoot got completed as they weren't impressed with the content. The series, which follows the journey of Sivagami's rise to power in the Mahishmati kingdom, has now been re-worked with a new team. ## As per the latest development, Netflix has started pre-production work on Baahubali Before The Beginning. Jannat fame Kunal Deshmukh and The Girl On the Train fame Ribhu Dasgupta are said to be on board to direct the series. ## Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has also featured in the Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam language films, will be playing the lead role of Sivagami in this periodic, replacing Mruanl Thakur. The entire script work of Baahubali Before The Beginning is completed and the shooting commences from September. The budget of the series is said to have Rs. 200 crores. ## Baahubali: Before the Beginning is said to have seen the potential of being India's answer to Game of Thrones. The first season of the show will consist of a total of 9 episodes. It is produced by SS Rajamouli and Arka Media Works with Netflix. The first season will premiere in 2022 on Netflix. The magnum opus has been planned for a grand theatrical release on October 13 this year in 5 Indian languages, and there is no change in the release date. ## Recently, RRR makers gave an official update that apart from two songs, the shoot of Jr. NTR and Ram Charan fronted has wrapped up. Now, it is said the final leg will commence from July 10 as the entire film has been planned to wrap up by the first week of August. For the two remaining songs, Alia Bhatt is also expected to join Ram Charan and NTR in Hyderabad. ## According to Pinkvilla, the writer of the film, KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is the father of SS Rajamouli, has confirmed that RRR is well on track for its scheduled release date which is October 13 this year. Los Angeles, July 2, 2021: Chris Pratt returns to the screens with Amazon Prime Video's new science fiction film "The Tomorrow War". Pratt's character, Dan Forester fights aliens after being sent into a future war to save mankind from losing a global war against a deadly alien species, in this Chris McKay directorial. ## In the movie, which was supposed to debut in theaters last year, Dan Forester teams up a scientist and his alienated father to make sure a long life for his young daughter and to rewrite the planet's fate, by traveling to the year 2051. Pratt says he doesn't believe in aliens but it is the story of the film that moved him to do it. ## "There are a lot of films you would want to see in the theater. But I think this story is so good that if the script was just read to you, you'd be moved", Pratt told Variety at the movie's June 30 premiere at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. ## Moving forward, Pratt will be returning as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero films, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Thor: Love and Thunder. While the filming on Thor 4 has recently been concluded, the action star confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 starts filming later this year. ## While he was tight-lipped on what fans can expect from the ragtag, intergalactic crew's next adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the best summation of his quote was that it is going to be director James Gunn's another masterful work. Reflecting on working with Gunn and Thor 4 director Taika Waititi, Pratt described both directors as rock stars in their own way who have their own styles of working. He continued to gush over Waititi, calling him a madman and genius. ## "He is the kind of guy who can deliver an amazing movie… That's the destination", Pratt said. "The journey to getting there [is] just as fun as watching the movie. He's vibrant, he's always making the crew laugh, he's doing bits. You can't believe he's the director", he added. ## Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2022, as part of Phase Four of the MCU while Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be hitting theaters on 5 May 2023. Gulshan Kumar Murder Case: The Bombay High Court Acquits Tips' Owner Ramesh Taurani From All Chargers

Mumbai, July 1, 2021: The Bombay High Court today delivered the judgment in the murder case of T-Series owner, Gulshan Kumar, who was brutally killed in broad daylight on August 12, 1997. Ramesh Taurani, the owner of the music label Tips Industries Limited, was one of the accused with music director Nadeem Akhtar Saifee (of Nadeem-Shravan fame) in the case. ## Taurani was charged with allegedly conspiring with Saifee by hiring Dubai mafioso Abu Salem to carry out the murder. He was also charged for paying Nadeem a sum of Rs 2.5 million to carry out the execution. Taurani was arrested by Bombay's crime branch for 'abetting' music magnate Gulshan Kumar's murder but was later granted bail after being imprisoned. ## Five years later, in 2002, the sessions court dropped all charges against him. After his acquittal in the lower court, the State of Maharashtra then appealed in the High Court which has now been dismissed by the court after 19 years when a division bench of Justices Sadhana Jadhav and NR Borkar delivered a judgment today (July 1) and acquitted him from all chargers. ## Taurani called it a triumph of the truth after he got relief in the Gulshan Kumar murder case. "The appeal has been dismissed and my family and I happy and relieved. I was expecting the verdict. I had to go through a long ordeal that was not required. It has been almost 25 years and I have gone through a lot of trouble. I got my acquittal in 2002 but since then there have been so many appeals. The sessions court had given a detailed order so I felt that it was unnecessary to bring it up in the High Court. The judiciary is already burdened so I believe this was stretched too far", Taurani said (via News 18). ## Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court upheld the conviction of Abdul Rauf Merchant in the murder case. He was an aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2002 for Gulshan Kumar's murder in 1997. While delivering the judgment in the Gulshan Kumar murder case, the high court bench noted that Abdul Rauf Merchant had "criminal antecedents".## The bench said, "He is not entitled to remission as he absconded right after his arrest. He was released on furlough in 2009. His conviction continued as he fled parole and continued with his criminal activities. Hence in the interest of justice at large, he does not deserve any leniency". ## The bench, in its order, stated that they upheld the conviction and sentence passed against Abdul Rauf Dawood Merchant under section 302, 307 of IPC by the judgment of sessions court judge dated April 29, 2002. They also added that he is also convicted for the section under section 120-B of IPC. The bench said that he is acquitted of charges under sections 392 (Robbery) and 397 (Robbery or dacoity in attempt to cause death) of IPC.## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, July 1, 2021: The veteran Tamil producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu is all set to join hands with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun for a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie. The Karnan, Asuran, Thuppakki, and Theri, producer has confirmed that he is planning to bankroll the film with Allu Arjun. ## The national award-winning producer for Asuran (2019) and Vanna Vanna Pookkal (1992) also said that he is in talks with a Tamil director to helm the project and he is hoping that the project would materialize soon. ## Thanu also recalled the time in his series Unmayai Solluven when he helped Allu Arjun's father, Allu Aravind. He said that when Allu Aravind made Maapillai with Rajinikanth in Tamil, he helped him to lock the distribution deals. Later, Thanu also supported Aravind for the release of the dubbed version of Magadheera in Tamil.## If things go ahead as per plans, it will be Allu Arjun's debut in Tamil. He was earlier supposed to make his Tamil debut with a bilingual, directed by Lingusamy. The project was shelved after launching it in a grand ceremony in Chennai. ## Now, according to reports, Murugadoss met Allu Arjun and narrated the script to him. It will be directed by Pawan Kumar, who is best known for helming movies like Lucia, U-Turn. Directed by debutante Sarath Mandava, the story of the film is reportadly inspired by real-life incidents. ## Majili (2019) actress Divyansha Kaushik has been cast to play the female lead opposite Teja in this yet-untitled film.
