RAPO20: Ram Pothineni Announced His First Pan-India Movie With 'Akhanda' Director

Hyderabad, February 19 - Telugu star Ram Pothineni is going Pan-India with his next film and has joined hands with director Boyapati Srinu, who is on cloud nine after the recent box office hit "Akhanda". Tentatively titled, #RAPO20 or #BoyapatiRapo, the movie will be produced by Srinivasaa Chhitturi under his banner Srinivasaa Silver Screen. ## The formal announcement of the movie was made by the actor himself on his Twitter account as he is super excited to team up with 'Daddy of Mass emotions', Boyapati Srinu. The story of the film has a mass appeal and I am happy to be associated with this project".## #RAPO20 is touted to be a mass actioner that will be made on a lavish budget. Created by James Gunn, the series is based on the DC Comics character Peacemaker, and it is also the first tv series in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).## The spin-off from the 2021 film "The Suicide Squad", "Peacemaker" has been such a big hit that Warner Bros. has renewed it for the second season. It did happen when "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was in development and fans kept saying it would feature many past Spider-Man characters. ## One of the actors which were in question regarding his involvement in "No Way Home" was Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. The actor, however, kept denying his participation in the film, but he was unsurprisingly showed up in the movie. His job was to keep people from thinking he was in Spider-Man and he did exactly what he was asked to. Now, the same thing is happening with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds. ## There have been rumors about Reynolds' involvement in "Doctor Strange 2" as Deadpool. Chennai, February 18 - The month of April 2022 will see a few of the biggest Indian movies hitting big screens. Pan India biggie, "KGF: Chapter 2" will be released on April 14 and clashing with Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Beast" at the box office. ## Now, according to industry insiders, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's "Vikram" is also looking for an April release. The action thriller, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is nearing its shoot completion, with just ten days of shoot left in the bag.## It is reported that the climax action sequence between Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi was recently completed which was shot over a period of 15 days. As for the release date, the reports have claimed that it will be released on April 28, two weeks after Thalapathy's "Beast". ## Interestingly, "Vikram" will compete with Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's "Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal" at the box office. It is written, directed, and produced by Vignesh Shivan. ## "Vikram", which is produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, also features Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. It is the first time when the trio of Kamal, Vijay Sethupathi, and FaFa has come together to share screen space. ## The film is not a sequel to the Vikram by name, though the film's official title teaser (released 7 November 2020) used a remixed version of the theme song from the 1986 film. Mumbai, February 17 - "Spider-Man: No Way Home" might not have set a release date in China yet, another Tom Holland-fronted movie is going to release in the biggest movie market in the world. ## Sony Pictures' "Uncharted", starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg has been dated for a March 14 release in China. The studio's Weibo account shared the news today with a video message from Holland and Wahlberg and a subtitled trailer, as well as a new poster, according to Deadline. ## Based on Sony's video game series of the same name developed by Naughty Dog, "Uncharted" won't be a day-and-date release with domestic, but it is surely a great sign as Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is facing trouble to get released in China, owing to what amounted to an unofficial ban on Marvel throughout the past year. ## Apart from "Uncharted", the other Hollywood title that gets a release date in China is Warner Bros./DC's "The Batman", starring Robert Pattinson. The superhero film will be released four days after "Uncharted" on March 18. Mumbai, February 17 - Marvel Studios, "Avengers: Endgame", which was released in 2019, may be the final Avengers movie, according to Marvel president Kevin Feige. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, "Endgame" marked the finale of Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) first chapter with the defeat of Thanos. ## The first Avengers movie was released in 2012 as "The Avengers", four years after MCU kicked off with Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" in 2008. The success of "The Avengers" tempted Marvel Studios to build its own universe which grew over the course of three Phases and the Infinity Saga finally came to an end with "Avengers: Endgame". ## It would take a number of individual Marvel movies before the next Avengers flick, however, Kevin Feige has put an end to the talks of "Avengers 5". During his commentary on Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Eternals (via Comic Book), the MCU boss suggested that they've completed the Infinity Saga with "the final Avengers movie".## "Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now past their tenth anniversary and with the release of the final Avengers movie, we've finally completed a 22-movie Infinity Saga", Feige said. ## In the grand scheme of things, however, it's difficult to believe that Marvel Studios will no longer produce Avengers movies since the studio is introducing a new cop of superheroes in its Phase 4, which has begun with "Black Widow". It also stars Tabu as IGP Meera Deshmukh and Ishita Dutta as Anju Salgaonkar.## Talking about returning with "Drishyam 2", Ajay Devgn shared, "Drishyam was loved and it's a legend. Having gone through more downs than ups in the last two years, the cinema biz was in dire need to make a strong comeback, and that comeback seems to be around the corner with blockbuster titles lined up to release during the entire summer of 2022. ## In one of our previous articles, we stated how the last week of February 2022 has become intense with blockbuster titles, but the fact is, its following month is looking even more promising in which a few of the top Indian stars will come together to light up the big screen. ## The big-screen entertainment in March will kick-start with legendary Amitabh Bachchan's biographical sports film "Jhund", which is slated for March 4, release. Ready since 2020, this Nagraj Manjule-directed is finally seeing the light of the day. The movie is based on the life of Vijay Barse (Big B), the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, and it also stars "Sairat" duo Akash Thosar, and Rinku Rajguru in prominent roles. ## "Jhund" is to be followed by the Suriya-starrer Tamil movie "Etharkkum Thunindhavan", which will be released on March 10 in multiple languages. This Pandiraj-directed will be Suriya's first theatrical release after two back-to-back OTT releases in the form of "Soorarai Pottru", and "Jai Bhim". The expectation will be high from the actor's big-screen comeback movie as he is one of the top stars of Tamil cinema. "ET" is produced by Sun Pictures and it stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead. ## A day after the "ET" release, one of the most anticipated and long-awaited Pan Indian biggie, "Radhe Shyam", starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde will debut in theaters. The period romantic drama film, directed by Radha Krishan Kumar, was supposed to release on January 14 but the 3rd covid-19 wave forced its postponement to March 11. It is expected to take a thundering opening at the box office, especially in Telugu. The budget of the movie is around Rs. 200 crores and the makers are confident that the movie will justify its large scale and will bring the audiences to theaters in large numbers. ## As far as the Hindi box office is concerned, the onus will again be on Akshay Kumar to glorify its magic as his "Bachchan Pandey" will be released on the occasion of Holi on March 18. This Farhad Samji-directed has everything, be it action, comedy, or romance, the audience could have asked for, and thus, there is a positive vibe among the trade and makers that it won't disappoint and will become the box office monster. The audience is already hyped with first look posters of Khiladi Kumar. It also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles. Sajid Nadiadwala has produced it under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## The ending of March will be the biggest when SS Rajamouli's highly-awaited Pan-India biggie, "RRR" will debut in theaters on March 25. Arguably the most-awaited Indian movie of the year, "RRR", stars Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the lead alongside Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in prominent roles. The film will be the top contender to become the highest-grossing Indian title of the year. It will be SS Rajamouli's first film since the release of all-time blockbuster "Baahubali: The Conclusion" in 2017. If all goes well, the period action drama film could take the opening of over Rs. 100 crores at the Indian box office. The makers have planned the movie to release over 10000 screens worldwide. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, a couple of mid-budget films will also be released in theaters. Late Kannada actor, Puneeth Rajkumar's "James" is slated for March 17 release while Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's campus action-comedy "Don" will be competing with "RRR" on March 25. The movie, starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, was a box office hit and earned approx. 10 crores at the Indian box office. ## The hit combo of Vaman and Teja Sajja later reunited for Telugu cinema's first-ever superhero movie, "HanuMan: The Origin", which was launched in June 2021. Produced by K Niranjan Reddy under his banner Prime Show Entertainment, "Hanuman" is touted to be a unique superhero film that will be released in multiple languages including Hindi. ## Post the success of "Zombie Reddy", Varma and Sajja's second collaboration is getting a lot of hype in trade, which has resulted in its whopping pre-release business. According to industry insiders, "Hanuman" makers have sold the non-theatrical rights of the film in a huge Rs. 16 crores. Los Angeles, February 16 - Paramount Pictures is putting giant steps in the world of entertainment by announcing the number of blockbuster titles, which will be debuting in theaters and on streamers in the next few years.## During its annual investor day presentation on Tuesday (U.S. Pacific Standard Time), Paramount Pictures has confirmed a new trilogy in Transformers franchise, starting with "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" in 2023. It will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime.## The studio has also confirmed the third installment of the post-apocalyptic horror film "A Quiet Place", set to debut in 2025 in theaters. This Emily Blunt-fronted will act as a direct sequel to 2021's pandemic-era box office hit "A Quiet Place Part II". According to Variety, the film will take off exactly from where the second part ended.## Apart from the "Transformers" trilogy and "A Quiet Place Part III", Paramount Pictures has also green-lit the 3rd installment of the adventure-comedy film "Sonic the Hedgehog", ahead of the release of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" on April 8. Producers Paramount and Sega have set a television series about Knuckles, a character in Sonic's orbit who is voiced by Idris Elba.## Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega Corporation, said in a statement, "We are delighted to announce that the third Sonic theatrical film and the first live-action Sonic series for Paramount Plus are being actively developed. We've got a remarkable partnership with Paramount, and we are excited to continue expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with them".## Among the other films green-lit by the Studio in its long-range announcement, a "Paw Patrol" movie sequel, The Mighty Movie, is set for theatrical release in 2023, apart from a new Blue's Clues movie, Blue's Big City Adventure is coming this year, and a full-length Baby Shark movie is coming in 2023. ## In a major development, Paramount Pictures announced all its theatrical titles will exclusively be premiering on Paramount+ starting from 2024 after they complete their theatrical run.
