Chiyaan Vikram's 'Cobra' To Release In May 2022

Chennai, March 6 - Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram is winning mixed to positive responses for his recently released action thriller film, "Mahaan", which debuted directly on Amazon Prime Video. The actor is now gearing up for the blockbuster summer with two new releases. ## The "Anniyan" actor will next be seen in the sci-fi action thriller, "Cobra", which marks former Indian cricket, Irfan Pathan's film debut. Directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, the movie features Chiyaan Vikram as a mathematician in close to 8 appearances. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studios, "Cobra" will be released on May 26th and it may have a theatrical debut unlike Vikram's "Mahaan". Director Gnanamuthu recently confirmed the release date but he didn't provide the release platform. The industry reports, however, are hinting at its theatrical release first. ## "Cobra" has been in production for a long time. It was originally scheduled for a release coinciding with the Eid Al-Fitr weekend, falling on 22 May 2020. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the production of the film was halted which forced the makers to postpone the release indefinitely. ## The movie also stars Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, which marks her Tamil debut, apart from Sarjano Khalid, Miya, Roshan Mathew, K. A New 'Alien' Film In The Works With 'Don't Breathe' Director Fede Álvarez

Mumbai, March 6 - The fans of one of the popular sci-fi horror film franchises, "Alien", have reasons to rejoice as a new film is under development in the series, which will be written and directed by "Don't Breathe" and 2013's remake of "Evil Dead" fame Fede Álvarez who is himself a big fan of the franchise. ## There have been four movies in the original "Alien" series along with two crossover films and two prequel movies. The last "Alien" movie was released in 2017 in the form of a prequel titled "Alien: Covenant". ## The new movie, meanwhile, is intended to be made for Hulu as part of the 20th Century's ambitions to make more than 10 movies a year for the Disney-operated streaming service, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The upcoming movie will be produced by Ridley Scott, who directed the original sci-fi horror movie released in 1979 and returned for two 21st century installments, under his Scott Free production banner. ## Alien and its many sequels and prequels focus on the horror of a ferocious race of alien beings called Xenomorphs, who implant eggs inside living bodies via "facehuggers" that violently burst out of chests when they reach a certain stage of maturity.## The new movie in the film series, however, will be different from the previous movies and will follow a premise that is different from the narrative of the three 'Alien' films. Slated for March 11 release in theaters worldwide, the film tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency.## Vivek Agnihotri has directed and produced the film in Zee Studios, and Abhishek Agarwal Arts. It stars Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi, and Puneet Issar in prominent roles. ## Meanwhile, the makers held a special screening of the film in Jammu a week before its worldwide release for influential personalities, politicians, army officers, and eminent Kashmiri Pandits. A couple of days ago, the Academy announced had announced the leaderboard of the fan-favorite poll, which "Spider-Man: No Way Home", along with 9 other movies. ## Now, according to surveys (via variety), the Marvel/Sony picture is clearly leading the fan-favorite poll and is the top contender to bag the trophy. A recent Morning Consult survey suggested that 26% of U.S. adults said "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was their favorite film of 2021.## Following "Spider-Man: No Way Home", Americans' favorite films of 2021 were "Encanto" (14%), "Dune" (8%), "Don't Look Up" (6%), and "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" (4%). Interestingly, Warner Bros. In one of the interviews recently, SS Rajamouli had confirmed that "Baahubali 3" will happen, but when it will happen, there is no clarity on yet. ## After Rajamouli, Prabhas, who shot to worldwide fame after this historical action drama film, also hinted about part 3. Mumbai, March 4 - James Cameron's global sensation, "Avatar 2", will be in the action from December this year, after speculations of its postponement. The sequel to the 2009's sci-fi epic, as assured by 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell, will not be delayed again. ## "Avatar 2", had there been no covid-19 pandemic, would have been released in December 2021 itself, but now be hitting worldwide screens on December 16, 2022. While speaking with THR, Steve Asbell was asked whether Avatar 2 would premiere in theaters this year, and without so much as a pause, Asbell said, "Yes. It will". ## Set in the mid-22nd century, "Avatar" shattered box office records upon its release in 2009 and went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office. The record was later broken when "Avengers: Endgame" was released in 2019, but it reclaimed it upon its re-release in China last year with a $2.84 bliion. ## Despite the thundering response to the first film, Asbell doesn't know how many people have actually been eagerly awaiting the next four Avatar movies. He, however, bet on James Cameron to deliver yet again and is confident that the marketing department will be able to pump audiences up once more. ## "Avatar 2 going to blow people away and that audience is not ready for what Jim [Cameron] is doing", he added. "I can tell you that there is no better marketing apparatus in the business than the one at Disney. They will do an incredible job reigniting that passion for the original film. This is not just a sequel, it's a saga. Mumbai, March 3 - It has been a dream comeback for Alia Bhatt on the big screen with "Gangubai Kathiawadi", after taking a direct-to-digital route for her previous movie, "Sadak 2".## Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "Gangubai Kathiawadi" has become the first Bollywood, and third Indian movie of 2022 to score a century at the worldwide box office. It has been unstoppable at the box office since its launch on February 25 and scored the milestone in just 6 days. ## On Wednesday, the biographical drama film earned Rs. 6.21 crores net at the Indian box office, pushing total domestic cume to Rs. 63.53 crores net (Rs. 75 crores gross). Overseas, it has so far grossed approx. Rs. 26 crores, helping the film's worldwide total to reach Rs. 101 crores, becoming the 9th film for Alia to reach the milestone. ## "Gangubai Kathiawadi" is currently Alia Bhatt's 10th highest-grossing film at the domestic box office. It will cross "Dear Zindagi" (Rs. 68.45 cr.), "Student Of The Year" (Rs. 70 cr.), "Kapoor & Sons" (Rs. 73.22 cr.), "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" (Rs. 76.81 cr.), and possibly "Kalank" (Rs. 84.6 cr.) by the end of the second weekend to become the 5th biggest grosser for the Alia. ## The film has crossed the lifetime net total of "Secret Superstar" (Rs. 63.4 cr.) which is the 4th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office with Rs. 912.75 crores, to become the 168th biggest Hindi film. In the all-time biggest Hindi movie list (Net collection), "Gangubai Kathiawadi" is expected to reach number 151 at the end of the first week. ## The movie is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by S. Hussain Zaidi. Hyderabad, March 2 - The Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's "Bheemla Nayak", also starring Rana Daggubati, is going bonkers at the box office despite the difficult circumstances.## Directed by Saagar K Chandra, "Bheemla Nayak" is all set to enter Rs. 100 crores net club at the Indian box office. After netting Rs. 97 crores in the first five days, the action drama film, on Tuesday, scored an estimated Rs. 5.50 crores, taking total domestic net cume to Rs. 102.50 crores. ## "Bheemla Nayak" took just 6 days to reach the box office milestone. It has already become the biggest Telugu movie released in the month of February of all time. Overseas, "Bheemla Nayak" has so far grossed over Rs. 25 crores, pushing worldwide cume to approx. Rs. 145 crores. ## The film has also crossed the lifetime worldwide total of Pawan Kalyan's last movie, "Vakeel Saab", which had grossed Rs. 137.55 crores within the first week.
