The Kashmir Files Screens Increased More Than 6 Times In The Second Week From The First Day
Mumbai, March 18 - National-award-winning filmmaker, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's latest film, "The Kashmir Files", is scripting history at the box office. A film, that took the opening of just Rs. 3.55 crores on Friday, finished the first week with nearly Rs. 100 crores, which is a monumental feat for a mid-range film. ## "The Kashmir Files" had released on approx. 600 screens on Friday. But such has been its demand that more and more screens were added over the first week, and now, on its eighth day, the movie is playing on over 4000 screens all over India. The screen count of "The Kashmir Files" in the second week is more than 6 times from the first day.## Throughout the first week, most of the theaters went Housefull, which is a rare scenario for a mid-budget film. As far as the box office is concerned, TKF has netted Rs. 97.30 crores in the first 7 days in India. Overseas, it has minted approx. Rs. 10.50 crores so far, pushing total worldwide cume to Rs. 123 crores. ## Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency. It stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Darshan Kumar, Prakash Belawadi, Mrinal Kulkarni, and Chinmay Mandlekar in key roles. ## It is produced by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri in association with Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and Zee Studio. The film received critical appreciation from critics who lauded Agnihotri for showing one of the darkest historical chapters of India unfiltered.
